Soccer-In-form Kolo Muani wants to stay at Juventus after Club World Cup
On-loan France striker Randal Kolo Muani said he would like to stay at Juventus next season after a Man of the Match performance for the Italian team in their impressive Club World Cup opener. Kolo Muani, who arrived at the club from Paris Saint Germain on a short-term deal in January, scored two goals as Juventus hammered Al-Ain 5-0 on Wednesday, taking his tally to five goals in his last six matches for the Italian club. "Honestly, I feel very good here," the 26-year-old told Mediaset after the Group G match in Washington D.C. "I can play well and score goals. I am happy, I hope to stay." General manager Damien Comolli told reporters last week that Juventus had discussed another loan with PSG when negotiating an extension to Kolo Muani's existing deal for the Club World Cup. "I'm optimistic that we can come to an agreement with PSG regarding a loan for the entire 25-26 season," he said. "Paris Saint Germain have certainly not closed the door to a loan, and they know the player wants to stay with us." Juventus coach Igor Tudor's optimistic response to Wednesday's victory might have been tempered by the knowledge that the two best performers in the game are only at the club on deals which expire after the tournament. Portuguese winger Francisco Conceicao, who is on loan from Porto, also grabbed a brace of goals after terrorising the Al-Ain defence from both flanks at Audi Field. Tudor has used the 22-year-old sparingly since taking over from Thiago Motta in March, suggesting Juventus might not be ready to trigger the 30 million euros ($34.57 million) buyout clause in his contract and keep him in Turin. In the short term, however, Tudor has both players at his disposal for the Club World Cup, which continues for Juventus with games against Wydad Casablanca on Sunday and Manchester City next Thursday. Kolo Muani for one is certainly buying into the Croatian's programme. "He trusts me, he wants to attack and he wants to keep the defence strong," he told the post-match press conference.

Trump Hosts Juventus Soccer Team, Discussing Iran and Transgender Athletes in Awkward Visit
President Donald Trump hosted players from the Juventus soccer team at the White House on Wednesday, asking their opinions on transgender women in sports and discussing the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran. The meeting came ahead of the Italian club's first match of the Club World Cup against Emirati team Al-Ain, which they ultimately won 5-0. The tournament is taking place across the United States, with the final being played at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on July 13. While talking to reporters about the issue of trans athletes, Trump turned to the players, asking, 'Could a woman make your team, fellas?' In response, Juventus teammates, including American players Timothy Weah and Weston McKennie, awkwardly smiled and shrugged without giving an answer. The President then turned to the club's general manager Damien Comolli, asking the same question. In response, Comolli said, 'We have a very good women's team.' The team won the latest Italian league championship. In February, Trump signed an Executive Order banning transgender athletes from playing in women's sports. Weah spoke about the interaction afterwards, saying he was caught by surprise over the 'weird' moment. 'I was kind of like, I just want to play football … They just told us that we have to go, and I had no choice but to go. So I guess it was a cool experience, obviously being in the White House as a first time… But I'm not one for the politics, so it wasn't that exciting,' he said. The U.S. forward mentioned Trump's comments on the conflict between Israel and Iran, which also took place during the visit. The President also spoke to reporters about his feud with Tucker Carlson and their latest disagreements about the conflict. With Juventus players behind him, Trump said: 'I asked Tucker, 'Are you OK with nuclear weapons being in the hands of Iran?' and he sort of didn't like that. 'Maybe it [the conflict] will end very quickly, but there's no way that you can allow, whether you fight or not, you can allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon because the entire world will blow up,' Trump continued. Juventus News Live, a fan-operated site for updates on the team, reacted to the meeting, writing on social media: 'Juventus squad in the background as Trump answers questions on Iran….. what a time to be alive.' Trump has been regularly involved with engagements regarding the Club World Cup. In March, the President unveiled the tournament's new trophy alongside FIFA President Gianni Infantino. Trump also announced a special task force for the 2026 World Cup, which will be hosted by the United States alongside Mexico and Canada. Since then, the trophy has been on display a number of times during press conferences and gatherings in the Oval Office, including on Elon Musk's last day working in the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Juventus players were invited to the Oval Office for a meeting with Donald Trump on Wednesday, with the US president proceeding to discuss the Civil War and the escalating crisis in the Middle East Juventus star Timothy Weah admitted the team's meeting with US President Donald Trump on Wednesday was ' weird '. It is not clear exactly why Juve were invited to the Oval Office to meet the 79-year-old. The Serie A giants are currently competing in the Club World Cup and kicked off their campaign with a dominant 5-0 win over Al-Ain in Washingon DC on Wednesday night. Before that game, they were called for an audience with Trump. But rather than discuss Juve's hopes of winning the tournament, the president instead decided to speak about a potential attack on Iran, whether the U.S. Civil War could have been avoided, his administration's travel bans and transgender athletes. It made for an uncomfortable atmosphere in the White House meeting, which lasted 16 minutes. The Juventus delegation included owner John Elkann, chief executive Maurizio Scanavino, general manager Damien Comolli and director of football strategy Giorgio Chiellini. American players McKennie and Weah, as well as Dusan Vlahovic, Manuel Locatelli, Teun Koopmeiners, Federico Gatti and the team's head coach Igor Tudor were also in attendance. And Weah was less than complimentary about the meeting. 'It was all a surprise to me, honestly — they told us that we have to go and I had no choice but to go,' Weah said. 'I was caught by surprise, honestly. It was a bit weird. When he started talking about the politics with Iran and everything, it's kind of like, I just want to play football man. 'I guess it was a cool experience, obviously, being in the White House… as the first time, it's always wonderful, but I'm not one for the politics, so it wasn't that exciting." FIFA president Gianni Infantino also attended the meeting, which Trump kicked off by making introductions. He told journalists that there was going to be a game in D.C. on Wednesday evening. 'It's totally sold out,' Trump said. 'Of course,' Infantino replied. Despite those claims, only 18,161 people attended the game out of capacity of 20,000. Trump then turned to the two American players in Juve's team, McKennie and Weah. 'We have two great American players. Where are you, my American players? Fantastic, so good luck,' he said, shaking their hands. 'I hope you're going to be the best two players on the field.' Trump then asked the Juventus players: 'Could a woman make your team, fellas?' When he did not receive a response, the president turned to general manager Comolli. The Frenchman said Juventus have a very good women's team. Trump continued: 'But they should be playing with women.' Comolli did not answer. Trump interjected: 'They're being very diplomatic." The conversation then moved on to the situation in the Middle East. Trump said: 'I hate to see so much destruction and death." He then said that the U.S. Civil War could have been solved without losing 600,000 people. The president also invited questions, encouraging journalists to ask about the World Cup, though instead almost all were about the escalating crisis between Israel and Iran. After being questioned about evacuations, he was then quizzed on his plans for a regime change. He said he had a plan for everything and that he would see what happens.
