Welcome to the Jungle shoot halted due to Pahalgam attack, not payment issues, says source; to resume soon

On Tuesday, reports had surfaced that the shoot of Akshay Kumar-led comedy Welcome to the Jungle was halted due to some financial issues with the production. After reports claimed non-payment of dues to the crew had stopped production, a source close to the film claims the break in filming was due to the Pahalgam attack, as the filming was to take place in Kashmir. Welcome to the Jungle, directed by Ahmed Khan, features an ensemble cast of 34 actors led by Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Anil Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Raveena Tandon, and Disha Patani among others. The film's shoot was halted last month. The source shares, "70% of the shoot of Welcome to the Jungle is already done. The remaining 30% was to be scheduled in Kashmir, but because of the unfortunate Pahalgam attack, the plan got pushed." On Monday, Pinkvilla had reported that the film's shoot had been cancelled because of financial issues with the makers. "The film has been on floors for over a year and a half now. There are also issues of non-payment of dues to the actors and their staff. Some of the originally cast actors have exited the project, while others are still supporting it out of love for the franchise. They all believe that Welcome is a beloved franchise and are willing to adjust their dates to help complete Welcome to the Jungle,' the report quoted a source as saying. However, the insider connected with the producer denies this and adds, "The entire schedule was locked, which included helicopters, over 250 horses with horsemen, and 1200 junior artists. But, everything is on track, all 34 actors are excited and set to commence the last marathon schedule and will begin post-rains in a different location. " Welcome to the Jungle was officially announced in 2023 with a stellar cast. In the announcement video, the cast is seen performing a cappella, giving a glimpse of the humour the film will offer. The film was scheduled to be released on Christmas 2025, but was then postponed.

Box Office: Housefull 5 has a good second weekend; Akshay Kumar starrer collects Rs 26 crore

The Akshay Kumar-led Housefull 5 has scored good results in the second weekend, as the film grew from Rs 5.75 crore on Friday, to Rs 11.00 crore on Sunday. The comic caper has clocked Rs 26 crore in the second weekend, taking 10-day total collections to Rs 140.25 crore. While the second-weekend trend is good, the overall collections are average, as a lot more is expected from the fifth instalment of a franchise film. With an upward trajectory in the second weekend, Housefull 5 stays in the race for a finish of Rs 175 crore in India, which ensures that the producers would not lose money, though there might not be profits too at this number. There is competition from Sitaare Zameen Par in the coming weekend, which means that the film will lose screens, but there should be enough showcasing to stay steady at lower numbers. Housefull 5 will end up being a success, though an average one. The film will stand in the north of Rs 150 crore at the end of the second week, and then it's all about the trend from there, which will decide if the run closes at Rs 175 crore, or Rs 190 crore. The global total at the end of second weekend for Housefull 5 stands around Rs 216 crore, and the film will be looking to finish in the range of Rs 270 crore. A finish in India around the Rs 200 crore mark, and a global closure at Rs 300 crore would have been sweeter, ensuring the clean hit tag, but none-the-less, the performance of Housefull 5 is decent enough, and a lot better than most of the releases featuring Akshay Kumar in the post-pandemic world. The actor would be looking to scale up further in September with Jolly LLB 3, which seems to be among the awaited films of the year. Housefull 5 Week Wise Box Office Collection: Week One: Rs 114.40 crore 2nd Friday: Rs 5.75 crore 2nd Saturday: Rs 9.10 crore 2nd Sunday: Rs 11.00 crore (Expected) Total: Rs 140.25 crore

Housefull 5 Day 8 India Box Office: Akshay Kumar led comic-caper adds Rs 5.75 crore to tally on 2nd Friday

The Akshay Kumar-led comic caper, Housefull 5, directed by Tarun Mansukhani, wrapped up its first week at the India box office with a decent Rs 114.40 crore. The film, backed by Sajid Nadiadwala and co-starring Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, Sonam Bajwa, and a host of other actors, added an alright Rs 5.5-6 crore on 2nd Friday, to take the 8 day cume to Rs 120.15cr net. Let's dig deep into the theatrical performance of Housefull 5 so far. After a promising start last Friday, June 6, 2025, Housefull 5 saw robust growth over the opening weekend, capitalizing on the festive boost from Bakri Eid. The weekdays, however, saw a noticeable dip, putting the long run of the movie in jeopardy. The movie has stabilised a little on Friday but exponential second weekend growth is very important since it will become the second most preferred Bollywood movie option from the coming Friday, when Sitaare Zameen Par releases. By the end of the weekend, the total of Housefull 5 should exceed Rs 140 crore at least. Housefull 5's day-wise net collections in India are as under:- Housefull 5's global performance has also been reasonable, grossing Rs 180 crore worldwide in its first week. Most likely by Sunday morning, Housefull 5 will have entered the Rs 200 crore worldwide club. Given the movie's steep budget, it requires Rs 275 crore worldwide to just breakeven. If the movie fails to hit this number, the producers will lose money on the movie. At Rs 325-350 crore worldwide, the movie can be declared a hit; but that looks very unlikely. The only positive out of the performance of Housefull 5 is that Akshay Kumar has regained his ability to open his films to reasonably good numbers. Since Sooryavanshi, almost every movie of the actor took a low or poor opening. It is with Housefull 5 that Akshay Kumar has regained the ability to pull crowds. Housefull 5 Box Office: Akshay Kumar starrer aims to emerge a SUCCESS; Solid hold on Monday

The Akshay Kumar-led Housefull 5 is showing a fantastic hold in collections on Monday, as very early trends are indicating fourth-day business in the range of Rs 11.00 crore to Rs 12.00 crore, taking the four-day total in the vicinity of Rs 90 crore. It's a very good hold for Houseful 5, coming off a near Rs 80 crore weekend, and these collections put the film in the race to emerge a success story at the box office in India. The national chains – PVRInox and Cinepolis – are headed to collect in the range of Rs 5.00 crore nett, contributing about 47 percent to the total business. The ratio of national chains in dropping on a day-to-day basis for Housefull 5, as the mass belts are showing better jumps and holds in the business. The Akshay Kumar -led comic caper clocked Rs 10.65 crore in the chains on Monday, followed by a jump to Rs 13.60 crore on Saturday (Bakri Eid), and a nominal dip to Rs 13.15 crore on Sunday. It's a drop of about 53 percent in the national chains, but the all India drop should be in the vicinity of 47 percent, as the non-national chains and single screens are holding better in the morning and noon shows. The film will enter the Rs 100 crore club on the 5th day, and then begin its journey towards the Rs 200 crore club in India. The hold in collections on Monday put the film in a strong spot, and it's just about recording a normal trend from hereon to sail past the finish line. These are still estimates based on the early trends and the actuals towards morning could be higher depending on the final figures of national chains and the single screens. Here's a look at the day wise box office collection of Housefull 5 Friday: Rs 22.00 crore Saturday: Rs 28.50 crore Sunday: Rs 29.25 crore Monday: Rs 11.50 crore (Expected) Total: Rs 91.25 crore Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates!
