Aidan's Snub to Carrie in 'And Just Like That' Episode 3 Might Be My Last Straw
Before season 3 of And Just Like That even aired, John Corbett's Aidan was on thin ice. After all, Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) got a whole new fancy apartment in Gramercy Park just to be with him without all their on-and-off memories from her old apartment. But, right before she moved in, Aidan broke the news that he wouldn't be joining her just yet. When his youngest son, 14-year-old Wyatt, got into a car accident while under the influence, Aidan knew he had to stay behind in Virginia and be with him. And sure, one could argue that his decision to ask for the five-year break is nothing but honorable, a good guy being a good dad. But doesn't Carrie deserve a little more respect? Or, better yet, a little more commitment? More from SheKnows Carrie & Aidan's Full Relationship Timeline From Sex and The City to And Just Like That Season 3 then started with Carrie and Aidan in limbo, with them sending each other blank postcards and keeping their distance. Then, Aidan called and not-so-subtly asked for phone sex. It was awkward, cringey, and downright confusing for Carrie, who was just getting used to his new rules. In episode 2, when Aidan went back to New York to see her, they seemingly talked it out. 'I was so upset and I think guilty for being up here the night of Wyatt's accident that I went a little overboard,' he said, adding that they can text and rely on each other while he continues to be 'laser-focused' at home. So as episode 3 of the show started, Carrie was finally feeling some resolve, right? Well, not exactly. When she agrees to join a book panel in Virginia, she tells her friends she'll meet Aidan for an 'easy breezy' lunch. But, deep down, all she wants is for Aidan, who we can only assume is her long-distance boyfriend at this point, to ask her to stay over. After she wallows over it all episode, Aidan finally invites her over. 'I'm so sorry, this is a lot of trouble to go through for lunch,' Carrie says when they meet. 'Yeah, it is, so why not stay for dinner too? And a light breakfast!' But, before Aidan and Carrie fans start celebrating, even his sleepover request takes a turn. 'So listen, I didn't get a chance to tell the boys you were coming,' Aidan tells Carrie when they get to his house. As a reminder, Aidan has three sons, with the youngest being Wyatt. 'But it's okay that I'm here?' she asks, feeling understandably uninvited. 'Yes, but we've got this thing now where the night before we lay out what the next day's gonna be,' he explains. 'And you don't want to like, spring me on them?' Carrie asks. 'No, but yeah, kind of,' he says. Instinctively, Carrie's frustrated, but she jokes it off. 'Understood, so should I just sleep in a field, staying up like a horse?' she says. 'That's what they do, right?' 'Guesthouse,' Aidan then replies. 'Neat as a pin.' Seriously?! As they get out of the truck, Aidan tries to make up for the request. 'I'm so glad you're here,' he says. 'Huh, you have a funny way of showing it,' Carrie says, before he gives her a big ol' kiss. In the final scene of the episode, Carrie is then sitting alone in Aidan's guesthouse bed (no, Aidan didn't join her), writing on her laptop. Whether you were a longtime fan of Aidan and Carrie or not, it's safe to say their recent chapters were a little too bumpy. After all, after he asked for a five-year break to take care of his family, he was the one who gave nothing but mixed signals by asking for phone sex and surprising her with a visit. And now that Carrie's feeling that she can approach him again, he's exiled her to his guesthouse after she traveled all the way to Virginia. Is getting on a flight not enough to get to the main house? From the looks of it, Carrie's still determined to make it work and has already forgiven him by the time she goes to bed. But will her fans do the same?Best of SheKnows Every Single Time Kate Middleton's Royal Fashion Made Us Stop in Our Tracks Ariana Madix, Kristen Stewart, & More Stars Who Had Dramatic Hair Changes Which One of Donald's Trump's Kids Has The Highest Net Worth? Kansas vs Mizzou Rematch Set as KU Announces Non-Conference Hoops Schedule
Kansas vs Mizzou Rematch Set as KU Announces Non-Conference Hoops Schedule originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Kansas basketball dropped its nonconference schedule headed into the 2025-26 season and Missouri made its fourth consecutive appearance, this time around, on a Sunday at T-Mobile Stadium in Kansas City. Advertisement The Tigers come into this contest after a historical victory over the Jayhawks on Dec. 8, 2024, when the team defeated No. 1 Kansas in Mizzou Arena for its first top-ranked victory since 1997. Tigers guard Aidan Shaw (23) celebrates with fans after defeating the Kansas Jayhawks at Mizzou Arena.© Jay Biggerstaff-Imagn Images Tamar Bates exploded for Mizzou, dropping a season and career high 29 points; while Mark Mitchell and Anthony Robinson II added 17 and 11 points, respectively. Mitchell added three blocks and Robinson added five steals, pressing top-ranked Kansas every chance they got. The meeting marks the 273rd time the teams have faced off and the meeting marks the teams second-to-last matchup of its current agreement — an agreement that was renewed in 2019 for six years. The first and last matchups are hold at T-Mobile Center — which was Sprint Center at the time — while the four meetings in between alternated between Missouri and Kansas taking the home court. In 2026-27, the series is adding an extra game due to no matchup being played in 2020. Mizzou hadn't defeated Kansas since 2012 prior to its 2024 victory but with the rivalry running so deep, the Tigers have a 96-175 record against the Jayhawks dating back to the two teams first matchup on March 11, 1907. Advertisement The Tigers will take on the Jayhawks on Dec. 7 at T-Mobile Center in a perfect 'meet me in the middle' location for the two schools. Missouri also has three other confirmed dates for non-conference games. Missouri begins its season in Washington D.C. facing off against Howard on Nov. 3. The team will host Virginia Military Institute on Nov. 9 and will host Bethune-Cookman on Dec. 14. The Tigers will also play Minnesota in early November, Illinois in late December — for the two teams annual Border War — and Mizzou will also face off against an Atlantic Coast Conference team in the annual ACC/SEC Challenge. With their historic upset still fresh and the teams nearing the final chapter of the current rivalry agreement set, Missouri will look to build momentum in its Dec. 7 showdown against Kansas. Faking Phone Sex? Like Carrie, We've All Done It
Traditionally, long-distance relationships are defined by several factors. Excellent communication skills (ideally). Intermittent existential crises (realistically). And phone sex (necessarily). Or, in these camera-omnipotent times, FaceTime sex—hopefully, lots of it. It was not in the least bit surprising, then, that the practice was most recently endorsed by newly minted long-distance relationship poster child Carrie Bradshaw. Famously down with the kids, on the latest season of And Just Like That… our favorite sex columnist-turned-aspiring novelist is seen trying to get it digitally on with her lover from afar, who, by the way, is none other than Aidan Shaw (still reeling from that, to be honest). With Aidan's family issues binding him to Virginia and Carrie's general Carrie-ness keeping her in Manhattan, it's only natural that the couple would find themselves connecting over the phone. Things start off relatively horny: he's in his truck, parked away from the main house. She's in bed, wearing a black bra and an open shirt. Then Aidan accidentally hits the horn of his car, shaking Carrie out of her seductive stupor. Still, he is able to finish. She, meanwhile, is distracted by her cat, Shoe, who is watching intently. 'My goodness,' she mutters, nonchalantly (that's her, doing phone sex). Later, over cocktails, Carrie admits that she faked it. 'And now I feel dishonest,' she says, not remotely comforted by Miranda's admission that she has faked real sex. Most women have faked it in real life at least once, something we are thankfully talking about more and more. But perhaps we aren't talking enough about the fact that we're also faking it in other ways, too. I've lost count of the number of times I've pretended to sext someone, sending dirty messages in between seasoning my dinner or balancing my laundry on the radiator. This is common, with one study of 155 college students showing that nearly half of so-called 'active sexters' had lied to committed partners during sexting, with women found to lie more than men. Classic. Of course, in some ways it can be harder to lie over the phone than in person, when you're less distracted. It requires a degree of acting skills that arguably need to be of a higher standard: making the right sounds, responding to the right cues, and saying all the right prompts, even if you're standing in the kitchen at 7 a.m., trying not to burn your oatmeal. You can do it while you're answering emails. Doing a spot of gardening. Filing your tax return. In a way, the opportunities are truly endless. Perhaps that's why it's so common.

And Just Like That Returns With a Third Season as Gloriously Unhinged as Carrie's Outfits
Last week, I received some disturbing news. There were whispers in journalistic circles—and by that, I specifically mean circles that had been lucky enough to receive early episodes from the hotly anticipated new season of Michael Patrick King's And Just Like That—that the upcoming third installment of the divisive Sex and the City reboot was… actually good. Not bonkers, watch-it-through-your-fingers, so bad it's good, but genuinely good, and a real departure from its previous, wonderfully unhinged outings. Could it be? Surely not. To find out, I dove head first into the six episodes shared with critics. And now, I'm delighted to confirm that reports of its superior quality have been exaggerated. And Just Like That remains as thrillingly batshit as ever—and I, for one, could not be more grateful. Sarah Jessica Parker's beloved Carrie Bradshaw in And Just Like That Season 3. Photo: Courtesy of HBO We pick things up with Carrie (the ever-luminous Sarah Jessica Parker) and co. not long after the (highly surreal) events of Season 2: namely, our gal about town's decision to pause her relationship with John Corbett's beleaguered Aidan Shaw for five years while he raises his teenage sons. The pair are still in touch, though, sending each other mostly blank postcards and occasionally having very awkward phone sex. Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), meanwhile, is cruising 'lady bars,' which only seem to yield eccentrics or former acquaintances, and living in a noisy Airbnb next door to a crazed naked man wielding a meat cleaver, even though her best friend, Carrie, literally has a giant, mostly empty Gramercy Park townhouse and garden. As for Charlotte (Kristin Davis), she has, as usual, got her hands full with her life as a high-powered, late-night-partying gallerina, as well as her husband, Harry (Evan Handler), and kids, Rock (Alexa Swinton) and Lily (Cathy Ang), the latter of whom has a new, polyamorous, ballet dancer boyfriend.
