Aerospace symposium at IIST to focus on innovation and research developments
Thiruvananthapuram: The Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) will host the second Aerospace Symposium on Technological Research Advancements (ASTRA 2025) from June 12 to 14. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The event is conducted in association with the Indian Society for Heat and Mass Transfer (ISHMT) Regional Chapter, Trivandrum, Kerala Spacepark (K-Space) and IQAC, IIST. The symposium focuses on aerospace innovation, entrepreneurship and research developments. Over 250 participants from various institutions, including IITs, NITs, Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research, govt engineering colleges, Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre, ISRO Propulsion Complex, Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre and industries such as Collins Aerospace and L&T, will participate, the IIST authorities said. There will be start-up and industry engagement sessions in the pre-conference event named 'lift-off' that will be held on June 12. The main sessions will cover a range of topics, including India's human spaceflight programme, machine learning in gas turbines, hydrogen technologies and aerospace manufacturing. ASTRA 2025 also includes technical paper sessions on tracks, including thermal & propulsion, aerodynamics & flight mechanics, structures & design, and materials, manufacturing & industrial engineering, with 14 sessions covering around 75 presentations. Outstanding contributions will be awarded best paper awards instituted by ISHMT Regional Chapter.

IIST to host three-day symposium from Thursday
The Department of Aerospace Engineering of the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) here will host the second Aerospace Symposium on Technological Research Advancements (ASTRA 2025) from Thursday. The three-day event is being conducted in association with the regional chapter of the Indian Society for Heat and Mass Transfer (ISHMT), Kerala Spacepark (KSpace) and IQAC, IIST. The symposium will focus on aerospace innovation, entrepreneurship, and research developments. Over 250 participants from various institutions are expected to participate in the event.
