Search ops held in Allagadda, Illicit liquor and vehicles seized
Allagadda: In a coordinated effort to curb anti-social and illegal activities, police conducted extensive Cordon and Search Operations (CASO) across multiple areas under the Allagadda Sub-Division in the early hours of Sunday. The operations were conducted under the orders of Nandyal District Superintendent of Police Adhiraj Singh Rana, and led by Allagadda DSP Pramod. Teams comprising officers and personnel from three police stations carried out the searches with the aim of strengthening law and order and preventing criminal activities. During the raid, Koilakuntla Police Station – Kampamal (Faction-Affected Village, police seized 30 bottles of DPL liquor from unauthorized belt shops. In Rudravaram Police Station – Peddakambaluru Village, cops seized a total of 9 motorcycles without valid documents. In Kolimiguntla Police Station – Thummalapenta Village, police confiscated 11 motorcycles lacking proper registration or documentation. Additionally, the police conducted surprise inspections at the residences of known rowdy-sheeters, suspects, and individuals with criminal records in all three villages. DSP Pramod stated that such operations are crucial to safeguarding public peace and ensuring criminal elements do not disrupt community life. He warned that strict action will be taken against anyone found disturbing law and order. Later, police organised community awareness meetings in the villages where the searches were conducted. Officers sensitized residents about various crimes, especially cybercrime, road safety, and offenses against women and children, urging citizens to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement. The police reiterated their commitment to maintaining peace and security in the region and encouraged the public to report suspicious activities without hesitation.

Drug awareness meet held at Srisailam
The Nandyal police, led by Superintendent of Police (SP) Adhiraj Singh Rana and Deputy SP Ramamji Naik, organised a drug awareness programme at Srisailam on Wednesday. Youth, residents, and workers from the transport segment participated in the event in large numbers. Srisailam temple executive officer M. Srinivasa Rao was the chief guest. Meanwhile, the police officials appealed to the public to report instances of drug abuse via the toll-free number 1972 and underscored the need for strict enforcement under the NDPS Act. The officials also highlighted the vital role played by the State's Elite Anti-Narcotics Group for Law Enforcement (EAGLE).

Increase vigil against illegal cow transportation: Nandyal SP
Superintendent of Police Adhiraj Singh Rana has directed the police to be vigilant against illegal transportation of cows ahead of the Bakrid festival. Mr. Rana asked the officials of the four sub-divisions in the district police jurisdiction to set up check posts and take up round-the-clock and thorough checks of vehicles to curb illegal transportation of cows. He also directed them to take steps to stop slaughter of cow at places of worship and keep a vigil. He asked police officials to form peace committees at all police station jurisdictions and ensure that the festival passes off peacefully.

Five arrested in A.P. for betting on ongoing IPL matches
Chagalamarri Police have arrested five members of a cricket betting gang involved in placing bets on the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) matches. On the instructions of Superintendent of Police Adhiraj Singh Rana, the Allagadda sub-division police have kept a watch on the cricket betting gangs and received specific inputs about betting activity in Chagalamarri on Friday night. Police raided an open place near the flyover on the road leading to Mallevemula from Chagalamarri and nabbed five persons who were organising betting on the Sunrisers Hyderabad-Royal Challengers Bangalore match. The arrested have been identified as — Byreddy Maddileti Reddy, Khaji Mohammed Rafi, Chakali Harikrishna, Bugga Baba Fakruddin and Shaik Sharif — all hailing from Chagalamarri town in the district, and the police seized ₹2.06 lakh cash from them. A case has been registered under the AP Gaming Act against the five accused, the police said.

Four get five-years RI in ganja case
In a significant judgement, the Nandyal District First Additional Sessions Court sentenced four persons to five years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹25,000 each in a Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act case. Superintendent of Police Adhiraj Singh Rana said: 'The convicts Erukula Kavadi Murali and Erukula Garidi Suri of Dhone Town, Erukula Mekala Srinu of Golugonda in Visakhapatnam district, and Erukula Pusala Sivakumar of Banswada in Nizamabad-Telangana were caught by the Dhone Town police on December 29, 2018. The arrests were made near the Anjaneya Swamy temple in the town, while they were packing ganja into small packets. Police seized 1.2 kg ganja during the arrest.'
