Community centre 'thankful' after volunteers paint function room
A community centre in Carlisle has thanked volunteers who painted its function room free of charge.
11 volunteers from the Nestle factory in Dalston near Carlisle painted the function room at Morton Manor Community Centre on Tuesday, June 17.
The volunteers, who completed the work free of charge, also used paint that had been donated by Carlisle business, Crown Decorating Services.
Adele Carter is the centre manager at Morton Manor Community Centre and expressed her gratitude to those involved.
She said: "We were delighted with the outcome as we are a charity and every little helps towards the upkeep of our centre.
"The function room at Morton Manor has a variety of use, it hosts our Wednesday Pensioner's Club, Morton Mini Mums & Toddlers' Group, Keep Fit Classes, sequence dancing, bowling, beading, The Flower Club, and weddings and funerals along with birthdays, baby showers, and soul nights.
"We are ever so grateful as well as the paint was also donated by Crown Decorating Services.
"We are thankful that we have been supported by such kind local companies, helping us to keep the function room nice and presentable."
