Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority launches Safety Patrol to promote preventive safety awareness
14 June 2025 13:21 ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority has launched the Safety Patrol for industrial, commercial, and residential facilities across the emirate to enhance preventive safety awareness, and the readiness of individuals and institutions to deal with emergencies, in line with the UAE's Year of Safety Patrol conducts field visits to facilities throughout Abu Dhabi to promote safety awareness, assess site readiness and provide preventive initiative also delivers training sessions that enhance both individual and institutional efficiency in applying safety part of its efforts to encourage compliance, the Safety Patrol awards Safety Certificates to facilities that meet prevention standards, and issues Observation Cards for informal notices. The initiative also includes a Safety Voucher, offering discounts on safety equipment. The Safety Patrol offers an effective model that combines public awareness with preventive action, supporting Abu Dhabi Government's commitment to enhancing social resilience and safety, and protecting lives, property, and quality of life for all. 5 June 2025 20:15 ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)Abu Dhabi Police and Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority have issued prevention and safety guidelines for the Eid Al Adha guidelines urge community members to adhere to precautionary measures during the celebrations in support of the continued protection of lives and property in the prevention and safety guidelines call for members of the public to comply with traffic laws and reduce speed when driving, give right of way to emergency response vehicles, and avoid stunts and other reckless guidelines further advise the public to refrain from using or handling fireworks, to ensure that chargers, extension cables, and other electronic devices comply with safety standards, ensure that children do not play near main roads or cross the street without supervision, choose an open and safe barbecue site away from flammables, and extinguish charcoal or firewood well after finishing. Based on international best practices, the guidelines form part of the shared efforts of Abu Dhabi Police and Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority to enhance emergency response preparedness and ensure smooth traffic flow and public safety during the Eid Al Adha holiday.

Abu Dhabi's jet-powered drone 'Suhail' to speed up emergency response
Abu Dhabi has unveiled a jet-powered firefighting drone to speed up emergency response and reach areas inaccessible to human crew. Making the announcement during Expo 2025 in Japan, Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority said 'Suhail' is equipped with smart systems and its jet power allows for rapid deployment and precise navigation in high-risk environment. The drone also integrates laser imaging detection and ranging (LiDAR) technology, which allows it to "see" in 3D.
