Oman's Abraj expects revenue of $559mln from PDO rigs contract
Abraj Energy Services has signed a contract to provide six onshore drilling service rigs to state-run Petroleum Development Oman (PDO). Mobilisation will be carried out in stages starting in the fourth quarter of 2026, the company said in a statement to the Muscat Stock Exchange. Each rig has a firm six-year duration. The total expected revenue is OMR 215 million ($559.16 million), the statement said. Last month, the company signed a term sheet with Algeria's state-owned oil company Sonatrach to establish a joint venture specialising in integrated oilfield services (drilling, workover and well services). The agreement was formalised on the sidelines of the Oman Petroleum & Energy Show (OPES) and Oman Sustainability Week (OSW) 2025. This partnership is set to reinforce Abraj's position as a reliable and leading partner in Oman's oil and energy sector. Abraj Energy to provide third drilling rig at Kuwait's Wafra Joint Operation
Muscat-listed Abraj Energy Services said it has received a variation order request to provide a third drilling rig and related services from Wafra Joint Operation (WJO) in Kuwait. The expected revenue from this contract is nearly 20 million Omani rials over three years, the company said in a bourse filing. The rig is expected to start operation in the second quarter of 2026. The joint operation covers an area of 5,000 square kilometers in the Partitioned Zone between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, according to the WJO profile on the social media platform LinkedIn. The natural resources contained therein are equally shared by both countries, and is operated jointly by Kuwait Gulf Oil Company (KGOC), representing Kuwait and Saudi Arabian Chevron (SAC) representing Saudi Arabia.
