Beat Saber support is ending on PS VR and PS VR2

Devindra Hardawar/Engadget It's the end of the line for Beat Saber on PS VR and PS VR2. While you'll still be able to buy and play the base game on both platforms, as well as any songs and music packs that were released before today (June 18), Beat Games is winding down support for those versions. They won't get any new songs or music packs. As such, the final song that became available for Beat Saber on PS VR and PS VR2 was Lady Gaga's "Abracadabra." Moreover, the PlayStation versions of Beat Saber will lose their multiplayer features on January 21 next year. Beat Games says that it will still provide customer support to players on those platforms. "As we look to the future and plan the next big leap for Beat Saber, we have made the decision to no longer release updates for PS4 and PS5 starting in June 2025," Beat Games wrote in a statement on X and its website . "Our passion for VR remains unwavering. We are excited about the possibilities that lie ahead and what we can bring to Beat Saber fans who have been on this journey with us over the past seven years." To view this content, you'll need to update your privacy settings. Please click here and view the "Content and social-media partners" setting to do so. — Beat Saber (@BeatSaber) June 18, 2025 This change doesn't impact the Steam VR version of Beat Saber . New songs, music packs and features are still coming to Beat Saber on Steam and Meta Quest platforms. Meta bought Beat Games back in 2019 . In effect, the company is ceasing Beat Saber development on platforms that do not support its own headsets It's most likely that Meta and Beat Games are ending their efforts on PlayStation versions of Beat Saber because they're no longer seeing enough of a return on investment (though ending multiplayer support is an odd move). By all accounts, Meta Quest headsets have far outsold PS VR2 units. It could be argued that Sony hasn't fully gotten behind its own platform. By my count, there are fewer than two dozen PS VR2-exclusive games. The most recent State of Play stream featured only one (non-exclusive) game for the platform, Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow . So, it's maybe not surprising that Meta is pulling the plug on Beat Saber on PlayStation's VR headsets. It's still a shame though, as Beat Saber arguably remains one of the best VR games around, and maybe even the killer VR app. At this point, it might be best for PS VR2 owners who have a capable-enough PC and want more Beat Saber songs to pick up the PC adaptor and play the game on that platform. After all, Beat Saber is modable on PC (and Meta Quest), and there are thousands of custom song maps available.

Dates: July 12-August 5 Rising star Olivia Dean is finally coming to the United States on her Across the Atlantic Tour. The Brit, whose upcoming album The Art of Living is getting global recognition, is sure to croon her way through the U.S., bringing her unique sound to a new audience. Dates: On now-November 16 Shakira can do it all: launch a hair care brand, release a killer album, and go on a global tour. The international superstar, who is likely coming to your city this summer, tours her album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, and has already given us surprises galore. For instance, in New York, she treated the crowd to an appearance by Rauw Alejando. Dates: On now-November 8 Tate McRae, I am strapped in to the passenger seat of your 'Sports Car.' Pop's newly minted dancing diva continues her trek around the world with her Miss Possessive Tour, making us wonder if she ever sleeps. 'Survivor' winner Luciano Plazibat reacts to the gays flooding his DMs

Between winning Survivor Croatia and going viral with a video of himself singing and dancing to "Abracadabra" by Lady Gaga, this has been a very special Pride Month for Luciano Plazibat. Now, the professional dancer and reality TV heartthrob is spilling some tea about his run on the show, his connection with Lady Gaga, and the response he's been getting from the gays since that viral video. Sign up for the to keep up with what's new in LGBTQ+ culture and entertainment — delivered three times a week straight (well…) to your inbox! "I have to admit that being on Survivor Croatia was never on my wish list, let alone imagining that I could win," Plazibat tells Out. "I always thought Survivor was more for the 'manly men,' for lack of a better word. Guys who excel at sports. And I'm a dancer. This could also be my upbringing talking, but [I thought] a dancer is for Dancing With the Stars, and athletic men go to Survivor." He adds, "I found that being a dancer definitely helped in the physical challenges on the show, so I changed my own mind and proved to myself that I'm capable of different things — even if I didn't necessarily plan for them. Survivor is hard; it was one of the most challenging experiences of my life. But after being on the show, I feel that not much else will be harder than that." Though Plazibat is still recovering from competing on (and winning) Survivor Croatia, the 26-year-old spent the weekend celebrating Zagreb Pride, has his 27th birthday coming up in a week — Monday, June 23 — and wants to attend Tomorrowland this year. "We're the best of friends, but she doesn't know it yet," Plazibat jokes when asked about Mother Monster. "Just kidding!" In reality, the Survivor winner was 10 years old when he first saw Gaga "coming out of that pool in the 'Poker Face' music video," adding: "I thought to myself, 'I need to have that mask, but also those bangs.' And the rest is history; I was a fan ever since." Plazibat says that being a Gaga fan has "kept me going as a dancer" over the years. "I'm still working towards one day performing [with her] and being on stage myself," he explains. "Name any one of her songs and I can dance it out right now." And yet, that creative connection with Gaga actually took an even more personal turn while Plazibat competed on Survivor Croatia. "In week two, some of the contestants made fun of me for being her fan. They even mentioned it as one of the reasons why I should be kicked out… half-jokingly, probably," he recalls. "But, to me, it became like a symbol of staying on Survivor. The longer I stayed, the more I would sing and dance." Plazibat's also proud to reveal that loving Lady Gaga is a family affair. "After two months of being on the show, we received video messages from our families, and my father quoted Lady Gaga in his video message," the Survivor Croatia star notes. "He wanted to motivate me, and send his support, and he knew exactly what to do." Meet Plazibat family😂 #moreenergy #passion #family #fyp The very online gays were introduced to Plazibat through his viral video of "Abracadabra," which was filmed after he had already won Survivor. The Croatian series — airing on Nova TV since 2022 — shared that video on its official Instagram page, which took Plazibat by surprise. "That video was actually filmed before my final interview on the TV studio. We were waiting for the interview to start," he explains. "Me being me, I felt like the room needed some entertainment; a little bit of 'Abracadabra.'" As far as Plazibat knew, he was just trying to entertain himself and the production crew while the equipment was set up for his final interview. Though he was mic'd and knew the cameras were on, he didn't realize that the footage of him singing and dancing "Abracadabra" before his final interview would ever be used. "It was a surprise to me to when the channel decided to post that," he says, adding that he also didn't expect that the video would go so viral. "I was very surprised, but also very happy, that the Little Monster community picked up on it." "Picked up on it" is an understatement: The video has gotten millions of views, and has reached way more people than just Little Monsters. The official Instagram page for Survivor Croatia first shared Plazibat's "Abracadabra" video on Saturday, May 24. Overall, the video has already reached 1.2 million views. On Wednesday, May 28 — just four days later — Plazibat's video was re-shared on X/Twitter and got a new wave of very thirsty (and very queer!) responses. "A contestant on Survivor sang Abracadabra," X/Twitter user @nichblink wrote along with the video, which can be seen below. This clip alone has reached 4.8 million views as of this writing — including 41,000 likes, 8,000 bookmarks, and 3,300 re-shares. Popular responses to the viral X/Twitter video include: "A big ass Chromatica tattoo." — @nichblink"The clap being precisely on beat is so satisfying." — @RandomSisco"Even the bulge was hyped af." — @volevonasceref"He can abracadabra his d*ck in my h*le." — @veterangagastan"Oh he has the choreo DOWN!! He even paused for the slayage at the end." — @MztrGaga"His bulge [face exhaling]." — @everardojnrr"I need him to abra my cadabra." — @cuutehoney"I see some magic I want to do a trick on." — @LosTexasDiablo Plazibat has accumulated 17 million likes and 348,700 followers on TikTok (@lucianoplazibat), 117,000 followers on Instagram (@lucianoplazibat), and 5,000 followers on X/Twitter (@PlazibatLuciano) as of this writing. Specifically, he's gained 9,500 followers on Instagram and 7,000 followers on TikTok since that viral "Abracadabra" video (via Social Blade). When asked about the reception of the video, Plazibat reveals that quite a few gays have been sliding into his DMs. "But who doesn't enjoy a little bit of flirting in the DMs? Or, in this case, a lot of flirting in the DMs." Wildest response to the video so far? "A certain adult movie actor re-posted my video on his story and wrote, 'Marry me.' And that's nice, right? Because usually it's the other way around." And, if anyone's curious, Plazibat confirms during this Out interview that he is indeed gay and single. Even when facing no-so-positive reactions to the viral video, Plazibat remains unbothered — and even friendly. "I figured out why Luciano Plazibat is irritating to me, and the sad truth is because the guy is actually happy, and it radiates from him. I'm just jealous and projecting," X user @trjkvcnkl wrote on Friday, May 30. Plazibat reacted to that X post, writing: "Hahahahaha, Nikola, let's grab some coffee." So, what's next for the Survivor Croatia winner? "Right now I'm taking some time off for the summer," he says. "I have some offers and plans for future projects in the fall, but nothing confirmed yet." "But, whatever I do, I'll see to it that it's always something creative and entertaining for me and for others. Everyone needs a little bit of 'Abracadabra' right now," Plazibat says. Ne znam mogu li bit luđi od ovoga… GLEDAMO SE USKORO!! Na mom instagramu imate više o ovome! Ali zasada dijelim samo ovo!! SURVIVOR 2025 !!! IM BACK 🔥🕷️♥️😂💪🏼 #survivor2025 #survivor #survivorbalkan #survivorhrvatska #survivorserbia

We own three homes — but saving for our £360,000 Somerset three-bed was hard

Welcome back to What I Own – Metro's property series where we speak to homeowners about getting on the ladder. This week, we're in Weston-super-Mare meeting married couple Joe and Robert, who picked up the keys to their £360,000 three-bedroom home in August 2024. After living in a two-bedroom flat close by, the pair moved for more space — but their new home has also come with the added benefit of being energy efficient. While the typical energy bill for a three to four-bedroom home averages out at £154.10 per month, Joe and Robert currently pay around £107, which is a £47.10 saving. With a unique interior design style that's inspired by Joe's time working in Las Vegas, as well as their love for Lady Gaga, their personalities certainly shine through. Their home features the vinyl cover of every single album the popstar has ever released. Did someone say Abracadabra? And yes, there's a disco ball. Here's what Joe had to say about their property journey… You can access completely fee-free mortgage advice with London & Country (L&C) Mortgages, a partner of Metro. Customers benefit from: – Award winning service from the UK's leading mortgage broker – Expert advisors on hand 7 days a week – Access to 1000s of mortgage deals from across the market Unlike many mortgage brokers, L&C won't charge you a fee for their advice. Find out how much you could borrow online Mortgage service provided by London & Country Mortgages (L&C), which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (registered number: 143002). The FCA does not regulate most Buy to Let mortgages. Your home or property may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage. I'm Joe, and I'm 44 years old. I was originally born in Derby but relocated to Weston-super-Mare for work. I work as a lecturer in performing arts. My husband, Robert, is 32 and was born in Manchester, but also moved here to work as an advanced nurse practitioner. Our home is based on a Keepmoat development called Winterstoke Gate, located in Locking Parklands, Weston-super-Mare. Robert and I love the area as it is quiet and peaceful, close to a range of amenities such as our work, shops, and there's nightlife too. We're also close to the motorway which is really handy, but far enough away to avoid the traffic. We moved into our home in August 2024. Our property cost £360,000. We put down a deposit of £35,000. As our home is fitted with energy-saving technology, we've found our energy bills have reduced dramatically. We have our air source heat pump, which is a type of low-carbon central heating. It takes warmth from the air outside to supply our home's heating and hot water. It means that even when we go away, we can leave it on, rather than turning it on and off, which actually costs more. We also have EV charging points and solar panels. Our monthly energy bills cost an average of £107, and our mortgage costs £1,750. Prior to owning this property, we lived in a two-bedroom flat in Weston-super-Mare, which we also owned and are now renting out. We also have two other properties, which we remortgaged, one also in Weston-super-Mare and the other in Derby, my hometown. I also used to own a condo in America, which I sold when I moved back to the UK. Winterstoke Gate is now the third home we own together. We worked hard to save up for the deposit while living in our old flat. We found the process of getting a mortgage straightforward, and it's something we have dealt with before. One of our friends is a mortgage advisor, so they helped us find the best rates and advised us on remortgaging our other properties on interest only. Keepmoat also recommended someone who supported us through the process. Overall, we found it to be smooth sailing, which we are very pleased about. Our mortgage is currently on a five-year, fixed-rate term. Robert and I have preferred buying a home rather than renting because we view it as an investment in our future. We were keen to buy a home, rather than another flat, because we've previously felt restricted due to fees such as maintenance, which are not a concern when owning a house. Moving into a new build has been a long-awaited dream for both of us, and the whole process has been smooth and seamless. We're absolutely delighted with our new home. Since we first got on the property ladder, we've always aimed for a sustainable forever home, as we always try to do our bit for the environment. Energy efficiency wasn't essential for us, but a bonus. The savings we've already seen on energy costs have been amazing, and the added space to host our family has been an incredible bonus. June might mark Pride Month, but the reality is that LGBTQ+ people still face issues accessing housing. Research from Stonewall shows that almost one in five LGBTQ+ people have experienced homelessness; these statistics increase to 25% of all trans people. The majority of these cases are caused by direct rejection from families over their LGBTQ+ identity, too, as 77% of people surveyed by akt said that 'family rejection, abuse or being asked to leave home' was the cause of their homelessness. Shortly before becoming homeless, more than 50% had their family members force them to stop expressing their LGBTQ+ identity, figures which rise to 64% for trans people and 55% for disabled people. The University of Stirling also finds that LGBTQ+ people have poorer housing outcomes than their straight and cis counterparts, too. Gay, lesbian and bisexual people specifically are less likely to own their own homes, while throughout the 1980s and 1990s, there were instances of gay and bisexual men having their mortgage applications refused because of the stigma tied to the HIV/AIDS crisis. We're huge fans of colour and emulating the luxury feel we have experienced in hotels. With our interior, we wanted to create a classy, luxurious feel, with a splash of colour. Robert and I spent our honeymoon in Las Vegas, and I also used to perform there, so it's a really special place for us. We have incorporated elements of this into our home to remind us of our trips. In our flat, we had blue as the main colour, so in our current home, we opted for sage green for the primary palette. We wanted to ensure it was subtle, so we used the colour on a feature wall and then incorporated accents such as vases and frames, which tie it all together and carry the scheme through our home. It would have to be the kitchen! It really is the heart of our home as we host here, we have a bar set up, it's vibrant and colourful, but also very personal. Robert and I are huge Lady Gaga fans, so we have her vinyl records on show beside neon lights, which really brightens the room. We also love the garden as this is something we never had when living in a flat. It's been enjoyable to be able to decorate and experiment with planting and style. We've transformed it into a fun and functional space. Definitely. Living in a flat compared to a house is very different. We have more space for friends and family to stay, which was key for us. We also have a garden, garage and dedicated parking, which is something we didn't have before and has really benefited us. Not right now, but never say never! We liked that Keepmoat let us pick our preferred choices for a lot of furnishings in our home, for example, the flooring. We have an air source heat pump, solar panels, EV charger, and energy efficient appliances such as an integrated cooker and washing machine, which are great features. We have spent a lot of time and money putting our own personal touch on the interior, and we're really pleased with how our home looks, so we don't have plans to change it anytime in the near future. Aside from a couple of small tweaks in the garden, which are being sorted, it's been a really smooth process, and the property was finished to an excellent standard. Energy-efficient homes can lead to significant savings on energy bills, particularly if, like us, you learn as much as you can about the tech and make the most of the features and systems. For us, those savings were immediate. Although the initial cost of purchasing an energy-efficient home is slightly higher, it's worth it due to the benefits and cost savings which you can experience very quickly.
