Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par Trailer Gets CBFC Nod

The trailer for Aamir Khan's film Sitaare Zameen Par, directed by RS Prasanna, got a UA 13+ rating. It features Aamir as an alcoholic coach training kids for the Paralympics. The trailer of Aamir Khan's much-awaited film Sitaare Zameen Par has officially been approved by the CBFC. The sports drama, which is being dubbed a spiritual successor to Aamir's 2007 emotional rollercoaster Taare Zameen Par, is all set to drop its trailer very soon. Ever since Aamir announced Sitaare Zameen Par, the buzz has been steadily building. According to the CBFC listing, the trailer of Sitaare Zameen Par has been given a UA 13+ rating, meaning it's fit for viewers above 13, but only with a bit of parental guidance. The green signal came from the Mumbai Regional Office, and the certificate was issued on April 25, 2025. Clocking in at 3 minutes and 29 seconds, the trailer promises a generous peek into the film's heartwarming and motivational journey. The trailer was submitted to the CBFC by Aamir Khan Films LLP, the same banner backing the movie. Sitaare Zameen Par is helmed by RS Prasanna. While the 2007 film focused on a dyslexic child's journey and stole all our hearts (and many, many tissues), this one promises a fresh twist, with sports at its core. No release date for the trailer has been revealed yet, but now that it's got CBFC's stamp, expect it to land any moment. In Sitaare Zameen Par, Aamir Khan steps into the role of an alcoholic coach who trains a group of specially-abled children, helping them chase their dreams of competing in the Paralympics. The film's premise promises the same emotional depth as Taare Zameen Par. Joining Aamir on this heartfelt ride are Genelia Deshmukh and Darsheel Safary, who'll be reprising key roles, with Darsheel returning in a new, yet equally impactful, character. There was some buzz that Sitaare Zameen Par's trailer might be attached to Salman Khan's highly anticipated Eid release, Sikandar. However, according to Pinkvilla, the trailer won't be making its debut with Salman's film. Instead, it will premiere alongside Ajay Devgn's Raid 2. This move is reportedly designed to maximise visibility and reach a wider audience in cinemas. Sitaare Zameen Par is officially scheduled for a theatrical release on June 20, 2025! The film was initially eyeing a May 30 release, but Aamir Khan decided to push it back for a smarter box office window. This move helps avoid any clash with other major films. First Published:
