Seth Meyers Roasts Elon Musk For Waiting Until Now to Allege ‘That Trump Might Be a Pedophile': ‘You Already Knew That and It Wasn't a Dealbreaker'

After Elon Musk alleged in a post on X that President Trump's name appears in documents from Jeffrey Epstein's child sex trafficking case, Seth Meyers has pointed out one troubling aspect of the spat: It seems that Musk didn't share the information until much later than he allegedly learned it. Musk, who was a friend and administrative figure for Trump until very recently, ignited a feud with the president by criticizing the 'Big Beautiful Bill,' which passed in the U.S. House of Representatives and is now moving to the Senate. On Monday, Musk wrote on X that the 'massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination,' and the two have continued trading insults in the media since. That tension reached a major turning point on Thursday, when Musk posted, 'Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public.' Also, if we're to take you at your word, Elon, you already knew that, and it wasn't a dealbreaker.' Later in the segment, Meyers added, 'It's as clear as ever that neither of these guys really believe in anything. Elon spent nearly $300 million to get Republicans elected, and now he's shocked that they're doing the thing everyone said they would do. And in the process, Trump used Elon to get back into power. You know, in a way, they were right. Watching these guys destroy each other is both 'big' and 'beautiful.'' Stephen Colbert made similar comments during his 'Late Show' monologue on Thursday. 'By the way, Elon, a little late on that intel. 'Donald Trump is a sexual predator that preyed on young women, which is something I've only decided to tell you because he hurt my feelings. I am the hero of the story!'' he said sarcastically. 'Trump's gonna have to get one of those bumper stickers for his Tesla that says, 'I bought this before Elon told everyone I was on Epstein's plane.'' Seth Meyers Says Republicans Are Feeling ‘A Little Queasy' About Trump's Middle East ‘Corruption Tour'

It's not just Democrats who are upset about Donald Trump's tour of the Middle East after accepting a $400 million plan from Qatar. Seth Meyers dove into Republican and Independents' reactions to the trip in the latest installment of 'A Closer Look' on Thursday night's episode of 'Late Night.' 'Even Republicans are a little queasy about Trump's Middle East corruption tour,' Meyers said. 'I guess they're not thrilled that the three countries Trump visited this week just happen to be places where he's making — and I believe this is the technical term — fat stacks.' To back his point, Meyers pointed to an MSNBC report that highlighted National Review articles about the trip. The conservative publication called the trip 'A plane old grift' and said Washington, D.C.'s swamp is under 'new management.' 'How dare you,' Meyers countered. 'Donald Trump didn't pick Saudi Arabia as his first official trip because his family has billions of dollars in business there. He picked it because he's making the Hajj to Mecca. He's exploring different religions for a documentary series on Nat Geo called 'Are You There, God? It's Me Donald.'' The NBC late night host also joked about Trump's comments concerning Mohammed bin Salman, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia. During a speech, Trump repeatedly praised the leader and said, 'Oh, what I'd do for the Crown Prince.' 'Woah dude, play it cool. It makes sense you're in the desert because you're thirsty as f–k,' Meyers said. The late night host then showed clips of how Trump used to talk about Saudi Arabia and the markedly more positive way he's been speaking about the Middle East since his trip. 'Is it just me or did Trump just confess? He just fully described a quid pro quo,' Meyers said. 'I don't think I've ever heard him talk about America that way. I don't even think I've heard him talk about his wife that way.' You can watch the full 'A Closer Look' segment in the video above. Seth Meyers Cracks Up at Trump Publicly Roasting His Own Friends and Employees

Donald Trump publicly roasted several of his friends — and now employees — to the press this week, taking jabs at their professional reputations, weight and more. Seth Meyers was stunned to see it, but of course got a good laugh as well. This week, the president zeroed in on three people in particular: Jeanine Pirro, Mehmet Oz and an unnamed third friend, who he swears people would know if he had dropped the name. During his 'A Closer Look' segment on Monday night, Meyers noted that, at least for Pirro and Oz, 'people see them not as serious professionals, but as ridiculous TV personalities.' But the NBC host wasn't making that assessment himself; he was using Trump's own words. 'Oz had a very successful show, but it hurt his reputation. Because when you're in show business, it hurts your reputation a little bit,' Trump explained to the press of his current administrator for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. 'It's good for you, it's good for you, but in terms of professionalism and being a doctor, it sort of hurts your reputation.' Trump immediately compared Oz's bruised reputation to Pirro, who was named this week as the new U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia. 'She was the toughest, smartest DA maybe in our country's, in our city's and state's history; New York,' he said. 'She was really tough, really sharp. Then she did a show, and people didn't think of it quite the same way. Became more of an entertainment person like us.' As the clip ended, Meyers was quick to note that being 'an entertainment person' seems to be a draw for Trump, considering Pirro is the 23rd current or former Fox News employee to be hired by the Trump administration. But, the NBC host wondered how Pirro and Oz are supposed to take Trump's words as compliments. 'Are Dr. Oz and Jeanine Pirro supposed to feel good when they hear their so-called friend Donald Trump talking about them like this?' he asked, before imitating Trump more succinctly: ''Two amazing people, but then they went on TV, and people lost respect for them. Not just me, everyone!'' Trump also discussed a businessman friend of his during a press conference this week, describing him as 'highly neurotic' and 'seriously overweight,' and someone who 'takes the fat shot drug.' 'In the annals of presidential history, we had FDR's fireside chats. JFK's inaugural address, and now Donald Trump saying, 'My overweight friend takes the fat shot drug,'' Meyers said with a wry expression. 'Are you talking about Ozempic, or did you fall asleep watching TV and hallucinate again?' Meyers was also pretty amused by Trump saying his friend is neurotic, only to then slowly call out terrible features about the person without actually naming a name. What made matters worse, the late night host argued, is that Trump has proven he can speak very highly about friends. It's just that the friends he touts are Vladimir Putin, Kim Jong Un and Xi Jinping. You can watch Seth Meyers' full 'A Closer Look' segment in the video above. Seth Meyers Deciphers Why Trump Looked So Happy While Being Publicly Rebuked by Canadian Prime Minister

President Donald Trump met with newly elected Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney this week, and during that meeting, Carney publicly rebuked Trump's idea of annexing Canada once again. But, instead of getting hostile, Trump was mostly grinning — and Seth Meyers thinks he knows why. During his 'A Closer Look' segment on Wednesday night, the NBC host first poked fun at the fact that, when asked what kind of concessions he's looking for from Canada, Trump's immediate response was 'friendship.' Meyers called the answer 'revealing' and 'deeply sad,' but also figured that's why Trump didn't mind when Carney definitively and publicly shut down the idea of Canada becoming a state. 'As you know from real estate, there are some places that are never for sale. We're sitting in one right now,' Carney said. 'You know, Buckingham Palace, that you visited as well. And having met with the owners of Canada over the course of the campaign the last several months, it's not for sale. It won't be for sale ever.' 'I've never seen him smile that much while someone tells him to get lost,' Meyers said when the clip ended. 'I think it's because Carney sucked up to him by talking about real estate. Carney's telling him he's wrong to his face, and all Trump is thinking, 'Oh, a new friend! They made the concession!'' Speaking more generally, Meyers marveled at the fact that Canada wound up swinging left in the election at all, and specifically because of Trump and the threats and comments he's made about Canada. 'Congrats, Donald, you turned the most polite country on Earth into an enemy,' he mocked. 'This is like getting a handwritten letter from Mr. Rogers that says, 'Hey, neighbor, I'm going to burn your f–king house down.'' How Seth Meyers' lawyer wife, Alexi Ashe, beat Jennifer Lawrence to claim the talk show host and comedian's hand – and then beat food poisoning so she could marry him

Seth Meyers, comedian and host of NBC's talk show Late Night with Seth Meyers, started the year in punchy fashion. In his first episode of 2025, on January 7, he expressed his disappointment about having to scrap the script for his 'A Closer Look' segment after Donald Trump , then president-elect, made headlines with threats to take over Greenland. Meyers dared him to go ahead and do it. Adam Sandler (left) and Seth Meyers at the Golden Globe Awards in January, in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles. So what do we know about Ashe, who apparently is 'so happy' that actress Jennifer Lawrence once had a crush on her man, as reported by People?
