Lanzante's new 95-59 supercar pays tribute to Le Mans glory

British automotive engineering firm Lanzante has confirmed its new limited-run supercar will be called the 95-59. The name is a nod to the Lanzante-run McLaren F1 GTR that famously won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1995, while the 59 refers to the number of units planned for production — making this a decidedly rare machine. Details remain scarce, but Lanzante has revealed that the 95-59 will feature a three-seat layout with the driver positioned centrally, echoing the iconic McLaren F1. It will also offer space for luggage and a generous cruising range, pointing to a focus on real-world usability and versatility beyond just raw track performance. The Lanzante 95-59 will make its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed on July 10.

Peugeot E-Expert Sport is a spacious, speedy modern van that's fun to drive… and it even fits in at Le Mans

Just bang it in sports mode and pretend you're heading down the Mulsanne Straight at top speed WHITE VAN LE MANS Peugeot E-Expert Sport is a spacious, speedy modern van that's fun to drive… and it even fits in at Le Mans THE 24 Hours of Le Mans car park. Every supercar you can think of. Plus moi, in a white van. 2 Not as fast as a Le Mans hypercar, obviously. But it's no slouch either Credit: DANIEL PULLEN 2025 2 Peugeot's E-Expert Sport gets bold styling and 9X8-inspired touches – but no power boost Credit: DANIEL PULLEN 2025 At least I had a top view sat on the roof. Peugeot hasn't added any performance to the new E-Expert Sport. It's the standard 136hp with a 219-mile battery. But it does get a special body kit, Y-spoke 18in alloys, and Kryptonite Green detailing inspired by Peugeot's 9X8 race car. This is the 'Crew Van' version with tons of space for you and five mates to cross the Channel with all your camping gear. Just one pit stop required to get from Dover to the track, sucking up 80 per cent charge in just 45 minutes. Not bad. What's it like to drive? Not as fast as a Le Mans hypercar, obviously. But it's no slouch either. It's fun, with purposeful steering and paddle shifts to control the regenerative braking. Just bang it in sports mode and pretend you're heading down the Mulsanne Straight at top speed – rather than a French autoroute. More importantly, on a road trip, it has all the creature comforts you'd expect from a modern van including a 10in touchscreen that talks to your phone, dual-zone climate control, wireless phone charging and even a heated leather steering wheel. Which you definitely don't get in a World Endurance Championship car. Fernando Alonso drives to victory at the 24 hours of Le Mans in 2018 There's more of Superman's least favourite colour in here, as well as Sport logos in the 'eco-leather' seats which are colourfast, scratchproof and tear-resistant, not to mention 'moisture regulating and acid and alkali resistant'. Given how terrifying it must be driving through the night at Le Mans, it sounds like the sort of stuff they should make racesuits out of. It didn't have a place in the race, but the new E-Expert Sport looked every bit as cool as the race-winning Ferrari, and costs a lot less at £41,295 (ex VAT).

World Endurance Championship announces 2026 schedule

The FIA World Endurance Championship has announced its 2026 schedule, which will be made up of the same venues as in 2025. Capitalizing on the momentum of 750,000 fans that attended events in these eight rounds, there was little reason to alter the schedule, which will begin with Round 1 in Qatar, March 26 - 28, 2026. The 2026 calendar comprises five regions: Europe, North America, South America, Asia, and the Middle East. 'We are pleased to present our 2026 FIA WEC calendar, which reflects the series' success by building upon a winning formula and format,' said Frédéric Lequien, CEO, FIA World Endurance Championship in a news release. 'All eight events have established themselves as firm favourites amongst competitors and fans. Every circuit offers its own unique characteristics and challenges – and invariably brings out the best from our incredible drivers, cars and teams. We look forward to continuing to put on a thrilling show all around the world! The highlight of the schedule will continue to be the 24 Hours of Le Mans, June 10 - 14. Four six-hour races will be held at Imola (April 17 - 19), Spa-Francorchamps (May 7 - 9), Sao Paulo (July 10 - 12), and Mount Fuji, Japan (September 25 - 27). The Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, returns to the schedule on September 4 - 6 for the Lone Star Le Mans. WEC will conclude their season with an eight-hour race in Bahrain, November 5 - 7. 'After a period of expansion, including the addition of an eighth round in 2024, the FIA World Endurance Championship enters a phase of consolidation and stability with next season's calendar,' said Richard Mille, President, FIA Endurance Commission. 'The schedule continues to feature world-class circuits across key regions, striking the right balance between global exposure for manufacturers and the need to keep participation costs at a reasonable level. This stability lays a strong foundation for the continued success of the Hypercar class and supports the sustained growth of the world's premier endurance racing series.' 2026 WEC Schedule March 26 - 28: Qatar 1812 Kilometers (1,126 miles) April 17 - 19: 6 Hours of Imola May 7 - 9: 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps June 10 - 14: 24 Hours of Le Mans July 10 - 12: 6 Hours of Sao Paulo September 4 - 6: Lone Star Le Mans September 25 - 27: 6 Hours of Fuji November 5 - 7: 8 Hours of Bahrain

However, the status of NEOM McLaren driver Sam Bird isn't clear yet. He got stranded in Abu Dhabi for the night and hoped to get a flight to Jakarta on Wednesday. The reason why Bird's flight got stranded in Abu Dhabi isn't clear. The region is currently seeing a lot of flight route changes and delays amid the ongoing Israel-Iran attacks war. He wrote along with it, 'O dear! Stranded for the night in Abu Dhabi. Fingers crossed I can get a flight to Jakarta tomorrow.' He is yet to post an update until the publishing of this story. Jake Dennis, who had been partying hard for quite a few days in Monaco, revealed he was on time to participate at the Jakarta E-Prix. The Andretti driver celebrated his 30th birthday on a yacht along with family and friends, including his girlfriend Lexi Grace Boosey. He shared a picture of himself from the lift and captioned it on his Instagram Stories, 'Back down to business! Next stop Jakarta.' Dennis would be hoping for yet another podium this year after he won second position in both the races held at the Jakarta double-header two years ago. He had also recorded the fastest lap in Race 2. Nissan's Oliver Rowland confirmed he had reached Indonesia for the race. He shared a picture from The Langham hotel in Jakarta. Envision Racing driver Robin Frijns shared a picture of the snow-covered mountains from his flight to Jakarta. He recently participated in the 24 Hours of Le Mans race and ended up in 18th position. Kubica happy to silence doubters with Le Mans win

LE MANS (France): Robert Kubica said his triumph at the 24 Hours of Le Mans on Sunday, 14 years after a near-fatal rally crash that partially severed his right forearm, should erase any doubts about his capacity to compete in motor racing. The 40-year-old former Formula One driver became the first Polish overall winner of the French endurance race in a car shared with Yifei Ye and Phil Hanson. "I don't think my limitations are limiting behind the wheel. I think if someone had doubts in the past I showed those doubts should not be in place," he told the BBC. Kubica, the first Polish Formula One driver, won the Canadian Grand Prix and finished fourth overall in 2008. He was linked with a move to Ferrari before the crash sidelined him for nearly a year. He returned to motor racing in 2012, focusing mostly on endurance races, before making a return to Formula One in 2019. "There was some very extreme quotes of some people which hurt me because I am the first one who would never like to be back just for marketing or a being a PR muppet," Kubica said.
