Bills' Keon Calls Out ‘Trash' But WR's Talking About Himself

Bills' Keon Calls Out 'Trash' But WR's Talking About Himself originally appeared on Athlon Sports. How many NFL players coming off their rookie season can see their flaws? How many can admit to them? We just found one. Advertisement The Buffalo Bills selected Florida State wide receiver Keon Coleman with the 33rd pick in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft. … with expectations as high as he was colorful. But despite his lovable public persona. he did not have the year many thought that he would. But … that sets him up for a breakout season in his sophomore year - as long as he's serious about his look-in-the-mirror review. In a recent article by PFF's Bradley Locker, he puts together a team of players that he thinks could step up in a big way in 2025. And one of the players he picks is the Bills' young wideout. "Assuming Coleman can clean up his catch rate — his 13.5% drop rate was the eighth-highest among receivers with 50-plus targets — then his play should only improve," Locker wrote. "His abilities as a deep threat and with the ball in his hands should render him one of Josh Allen's top targets." Advertisement We're pretty sure Keon agrees. 'You want to know exactly what I see? When that (expletive is) trash, you got to be better, simple as that," Coleman said. "You gotta be more efficient here. You gotta get out of this break. You got to stack your DB. You got to give Josh more room to throw the ball. You gotta catch that. You gotta make that block. You got to get that extra effort on the touchdown block so if Jimbo (James Cook) breaks it, he's up the sideline. 'Just different things like that. Calling out everything that you're doing wrong to make it right." That's all true … but it's also wildly insightful. Advertisement Maybe Keon is being too hard on himself. But last year, the reigning AFC East champions acquired veteran receiver Amari Cooper at the trade deadline and maybe that took some targets away from Coleman and served as a progress blocker. But now? The 22-year-old receiver could see his number of opportunities go up. Coleman finished his rookie season with 556 yards and four touchdowns in the 13 games he appeared in. Thats not the 'failure' some see it as. But … As the Bills will be looking to redeem themselves in 2025 after a loss in the playoffs to the Kansas City Chiefs, Coleman can be motivated by the same goal … Advertisement An effort to take out the trash. Robert Woods Believes ‘Sky's the Limit' for Steelers Second-Year WR

Veteran Robert Woods thinks Pittsburgh Steelers second-year wide receiver Roman Wilson has a promising future. PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers are hoping to see big things from wide receiver Roman Wilson, who missed most of his rookie season due to injuries. Veteran Robert Woods is confident they'll get just that from their second-year wide receiver. Advertisement 'Coming to work ready to work,' Woods said of Wilson. 'Coming out here, you see he's fast and skillful, but when you see his approach, taking the details to improve his game. He had a great week this week. He had some big, explosive plays. Just give him confidence. He's a confident player, being able to make his plays, be himself and get the ball in his hands. I think when you give confidence to our whole room, sky's the limit.' The Steelers selected Wilson with their third-round pick (No. 84) in the 2024 NFL Draft after he recorded a career-high 48 receptions for 789 yards and 12 touchdowns in his final year at Michigan. Michigan football defeats Eastern Carolina University, 30-3, at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, MI on September 2, 2023. However, Wilson's rookie season ended before it even started as he suffered a high ankle sprain in the first week of training camp. Advertisement The 23-year-old was eventually able to work his way back and even received some in-game action, but he then suffered another setback, which he was never able to fully recover from. Wilson is finally healthy, though, and Woods is willing to do whatever it takes to help him reach his full potential. 'You wanna lead by example and show them the ropes and stuff like that,' Woods said. 'I feel like my game and how I approach it is I'm trying to feed my knowledge to everybody on the whole team, even the DBs. If everybody getting better, this whole team is getting better.' Only time will tell if Wilson can reach the expectations of those around him, but he seems to be more confident than ever now that he's back on the field and making plays. Advertisement 'I missed a lot of time, so putting in a lot of work,' Wilson said. 'I feel like I've got a lot better. The coaches did a great job helping me develop and you can see it. I feel good.' The NFL Draft is coming to the National Mall in 2027

Football took over the Oval Office on Monday, when President Trump announced the National Mall would host the 2027 NFL Draft and expressed support for a new Commanders stadium. Why it matters: The NFL is betting a record one million people will attend the three-day event in D.C. The big picture: Trump made the announcement alongside NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, Commanders owner Josh Harris and Mayor Muriel Bowser. "I think this is the greatest site in the world," Trump said of the National Mall. D.C.'s plans include a concert and a free fan festival called the NFL Draft Experience, per the announcement. By the numbers: Attendance estimates would blow out the current record: More than 700,000 fans attended the 2024 Draft in Detroit. This year, over 600,000 showed out in Green Bay, Wis., Goodell said. Zoom in: Trump also praised the $3.7 billion plan to build a 65,000-seat Commanders arena at the RFK Stadium site: "It's going to be beautiful." With sight lines of the U.S. Capitol, "it's going to be an architect's dream," Trump said. Harris gifted the president a Commanders jersey with "Trump" and the number 47 on it. "D.C. used to stop on Sundays, and everyone would be inside watching football or everyone would be at the stadium. We want to bring that back," Harris said. Between the lines: Trump is embracing the NFL after past criticism of the league, stemming from his first term when he balked at players protesting the national anthem. What we're watching: The stadium deal is now pending at the D.C. Council. It includes a vision to build 6,000 homes, new retail and commercial development and an entertainment district on 170 acres of federal land at RFK.
