Over/Under win total predictions for every SEC Football team
The 2025 college football season is months away. You never want to wish time away, but August 23 (week zero) can't get here fast enough. In what will likely be the last season of the 12-team playoff era, a number of SEC teams will be vying for three or maybe even four spots in the College Football Playoff. Others, will simply be hoping to go bowling. And still others, especially their coaches, simply want to survive the year and keep their job.
The SEC provides a gauntlet every year, but this has especially become true in the expanded 16-team conference. Several teams will be battling to hit the over on their win total for 2025.
With spring ball wrapped and transfer portal additions likely done, too, FanDuel Sportsbook updated their latest win totals for the 2025 season. Who's going to beat the projections, and who will fall short? Let's take a stab at predicting the over-under win totals for the 2025 season.
All college football odds via FanDuel Sportsbook
Win Total: 3.5
Prediction: Under
The win total is so low, it's tempting to take the over. But the Bulldogs will have to go 3-0 against Southern Mississippi, Alcorn State, and Northern Illinois and then find an upset win somewhere.
Here's Mississippi State's schedule for 2025.
Aug. 30 – at Southern Miss
Sept. 6 – Arizona State
Sept. 13 – Alcorn State
Sept. 20 – Northern Illinois
Sept. 27 – Tennessee
Oct. 4 – at Texas A&M
Oct. 11 – Open Date
Oct. 18 – at Florida
Oct. 25 – Texas
Nov. 1 – at Arkansas
Nov. 8 – Georgia
Nov. 15 – at Missouri
Nov. 22 – Bye Week
Nov. 29 – Ole Miss
Try to find the fourth win. I dare you.
Vanderbilt Commodores
Win Total: 4.5
Prediction: Over
Vanderbilt will have to beat Virginia Tech again, go 4-0 in nonconference play, and then find another win somewhere. If they can go 2-1 against the Hokies, Kentucky, and Missouri, that should put the over in play. Does Diego Pavia have another magical season in the bag?
Kentucky Wildcats
Win Total: 4.5
Prediction: Over
Betting the over here is to bet on Mark Stoops maintaining the same level of consistency he has at Kentucky for the last decade. From his second season in Lexington in 2014 through 2023, the Wildcats never won fewer than five games. Last year feels more like the aberration than the norm. However, the schedule is rough for the Wildcats. They'll have to go at least 3-1 in nonconference and then find a couple of upsets in SEC play. No easy feat. However, look for Zach Calzada to provide a boost to the Kentucky passing attack.
Arkansas Razorbacks
Win Total: 5.5
Prediction: Under
It's not a stretch to predict wins over Alabama A&M, Arkansas State, Memphis, and Mississippi State. But the rest is a bit of a crap shoot. They'll need to find a pair of upsets on a schedule that features Ole Miss, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Auburn, LSU, Texas, and Missouri. If I had to pick a couple of upsets to help them hit the over, it would be Ole Miss and Missouri.
Oklahoma Sooners
Win Total: 6.5
Prediction: Over
People keep talking about the Oklahoma Sooners schedule as if it's as difficult as last year. It's not. Quarterback turnover at places like Michigan, Tennessee, Auburn, Texas, Ole Miss, Alabama, and Missouri along with key players lost to the draft make it a lot more manageable than people want to admit.
Win Total: 6.5
Prediction: Over
Florida has the toughest schedule in the nation but D.J. Lagway could be an All-American and is a legit Heisman contender this season. In a five-week span, the Gators will take on LSU, Miami, Texas, and Texas A&M. If they can go 3-1 in that stretch, the over isn't a stretch.
Win Total: 7.5
Prediction: Over
Road trips to South Bend, Baton Rouge, and Austin will be pivotal for the Aggies College Football Playoff chances, but there's still a path to eight wins on the schedule.
Win Total: 7.5
Prediction: Under
There's a strong possibility that the South Carolina Gamecocks start the season 5-0. But then they take on LSU, Oklahoma, Alabama, and Ole Miss in a four-week span. Finding three more wins on the schedule isn't easy.
Win Total: 7.5
Prediction: Over
It's not a huge stretch to get Mizzou to seven wins. Finding the other one is a little tougher. Though they'll have a new starter in Drew Pribula, the schedule sets up well for the Tigers, but they'll need to find an upset or two along the way.
Auburn Tigers
Win Total: 7.5
Prediction: Under
Could Auburn be better than last year? Yeah. But a lot of that is going to hinge on Jackson Arnold living up to the five-star hype. The Tigers have a tough schedule with a sneaky good test week one on the road against Baylor. They also play at Oklahoma and Texas A&M, host Georgia and Alabama. They don't have a whole lot of margin for error in their games against Missouri, Vanderbilt, Kentucky, and Arkansas. The Tigers will need to go 4-0 in those games and 4-0 in nonconference. Doable, but not feeling confident.
Tennessee Volunteers
Win Total: 8.5
Prediction: Under
It's a fairly manageable schedule for Josh Heupel and the Volunteers, but week one against Syracuse could be as they break in a new quarterback. Although Nico Iamaleava is the more recent loss of note, the Volunteers lost bell cow back
Ole Miss Rebels
Win Total: 8.5
Prediction: Under
Ole Miss has reloaded through the transfer portal once again, but they lost a lot of talent to the NFL Draft, namely quarterback Jackson Dart. It doesn't take a lot of work to see a possibility of five losses on the schedule.
Win Total: 8.5
Prediction: Over
At Clemson to open the season could be a College Football Playoff preview. Garrett Nussmeier is back for the LSU Tigers to help them manage a schedule that includes games against Florida, Ole Miss, Alabama, South Carolina, Arkansas, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma. It's a tough schedule but the Tigers are going to be good this year.
Texas Longhorns
Win Total: 9.5
Prediction: Over
This Texas team may not be as good as last year's Texas team, especially on offense, but the schedule is favorable. Texas has road trips to Ohio State, Georgia, and Florida, along with the game of the year in the Red River Showdown. If the Longhorns can go 2-2 against that group of teams, 10 wins isn't out of the question.
Win Total: 9.5
Prediction: Over
Yes, Georgia is replacing its quarterback but if there's a team that gets the benefit of the doubt, it's Georgia. They're coming off of an SEC title in a season where Carson Beck regressed. Kirby Smart will have the defense loaded and if they can find a run game, the Bulldogs will be in the SEC title game once again.
Alabama Crimson Tide
Win Total: 9.5
Prediction: Under
Alabama went 9-3 with an experienced quarterback in 2024. They're replacing Jalen Milroe and will have some talented options but will they be ready for a schedule that features trips to Florida State week one, Georgia, South Carolina, and Auburn? Not to mention big games against Tennessee, Oklahoma, and Wisconsin. The Crimson Tide have one of the more difficult schedules in the country that's not being talked about enough.

30 Most Important Ravens of 2025: No. 29 Tavius Robinson
Every day from now until the start of training camp, we're counting down our 30 Most Important Ravens for the 2025 season. The Baltimore Ravens are gearing up for the 2025 NFL season, which features plenty of new and returning faces within the organization. Several players, coaches, and front-office members are crucial to the team's success this season. Every day from now until the start of training camp, we're counting down our 30 Most Important Ravens for the 2025 season. We'll recap their 2024 season, look ahead to 2025, and tackle the most significant question facing them this year. Next up is Tavius Robinson, a young player returning at outside linebacker, who has earned praise from defensive line coach Chuck Smith. Smith called Robinson a "centerpiece" of the Ravens' defense. Background Position: OLB Age: 26 Experience: 3-year vet 2025 cap hit: $1,210,141 2024 recap The former Ole Miss pass rusher had 32 tackles (13 solo), including 3.5 sacks, one pass defensed, and 12 QB hits in 17 games last season. The 2023 fourth-round pick out of Ole Miss spent the first half of the season in a rotational role at edge rusher, but he did start in the final six regular-season games. 2025 outlook Robinson will likely serve as the Ravens' primary backup edge rusher for the 2025 campaign behind Kyle Van Noy and Odafe Oweh, while potentially sliding inside to defensive end in key schemes that feature Mike Green off the edge. Biggest question: Can Robinson carve out a role in Ravens' scheme? Robinson has diligently grown as a player, and following OTA No. 9, the former Ole Miss star was highly praised by Ravens defensive line coach Chuck Smith. While talking to reporters after a recent practice, Smith called Robinson one of "the centerpieces" of the Ravens' defense. Still, the Ravens had the second-most sacks in the league last season (54) and two players in double digits (Kyle Van Noy and Odafe Oweh). They wanted to upgrade the pass rush and landed Marshall's Mike Green in round two after he slid out of the first round. 30 Most Important Ravens of 2025 We're counting down our 30 Most Important Ravens of 2025. Check back every day leading up to the start of training 30 QB Cooper Rush, No. 29 OLB Tavius Robinson

Does Texas A&M QB Marcel Reed need to carry the 2025 offense?
Texas A&M's 2025 season will depend on starting quarterback Marcel Reed significantly improving as a pocket passer. Still, for those who have been paying attention this offseason, the Aggies return all five starting offensive linemen, while adding 14 players from the transfer portal, led by former North Carolina State wide receiver KC Concepcion. Still, look past our coverage at Aggies Wire and other dedicated Texas A&M sites. You'll find narratives disregarding the rest of the offensive strengths, especially the O-line and the loaded running back room led by senior star Le'Veon Moss, placing all the pressure on Reed's shoulders, which doesn't make sense in OC Collin Klein's system. On Sunday, Michael Bratton and Cousin Shane of That SEC Podcast predicted Texas A&M's 2025 record, stating that the "best case scenario" would be for the Aggies to finish 10-2 or 9-3, which would likely place them in the College Football Playoff conversation. This, of course, resulted in rival fan bases responding to the positive A&M take, including Texas fan @ShinerRyan on X, feeling Bratton's prediction was "quite optimistic": "That is quite optimistic. With likely losses at ND and Texas, there is no room for error. I just don't see it unless Reed becomes a stud at the QB position. I think if they hit 8-4, Elko has done a solid job and can build on that. 9-3 and you extend the man." This appears to be a reference to Texas A&M extending former head coach Jimbo Fisher after the 2020 season. However, I'm referring to this comment because of his emphatic stance that Marcel Reed needs to be essentially the best player on the field for the Aggies to have a chance. Bratton quickly responded, pointing out Texas A&M's strength in the trenches, and accurately noting that while Reed must imrpove as a passer, he doesn't need to be perfect given the Aggies' running back room and deep wide receiver rotations with the additions of Concepcion, Mario Craver, and 2025 five-star signee Jerome Myles. "I'm not sure why Marcel Reed has to carry Texas A&M given the Aggies bring back the SEC's most experienced O-Line and top 4 leading rushers A&M's defense has to get better — defense cost them Carolina, Auburn & Southern Cal games" Bratton is also correct in pointing out that Texas A&M's offense wasn't the primary reason for the 1-4 finish las season, as the secondary, which also should improve with Mike Elko calling defensive plays, and new defensive assistant Lyle Hemphill, who was brought in to fix several coverage issues that plagued the team down the stretch. Again, Reed must improve, but he was never the primary cause of the Aggies' skid, and has put in the work this offseason to work on his release, touch, and accuracy, which are essential for running Klein's passing attack that relies on hitting tight windows, thereby opening up the run game. Marcel Reed may be the SEC's most overlooked quarterback, but Texas A&M believes
COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Among SEC quarterbacks this season, LSU's Garrett Nussmeier is the experienced pocket passer whose methodical development could land him in the first-round of next year's NFL Draft. There is LaNorris Sellers, the dynamic athlete who seems primed to take a big leap forward in Year 3 for South Carolina. At Florida, DJ Lagway was so good as a freshman last year he helped save his head coach's job. Oklahoma's John Mateer is the flashy incoming transfer. And, of course, there is Arch Manning, Texas' first-year starter and cultural phenomenon. Advertisement Texas A&M's Marcel Reed has neither the name nor the narrative to be mentioned with the SEC's upper-tier QBs, but the numbers suggest he should be in that conversation. 'The challenge that he's battling is just the most high-profile game he won was against LSU, and he won it with his feet,' Texas A&M coach Mike Elko said. Ask an average college football fan about Reed, and there is a good chance that late October night game at Kyle Field will come up. The Texas A&M quarterback came off the bench to start the second half and ran wild on the Tigers in a 38-23 victory that propelled the Aggies into November as SEC championship contenders. Reed had already started three Aggies victories early in the season when preseason QB1 Conner Weigman was injured, and he was good enough down the stretch — despite the team's 1-4 finish — that Elko felt no pressing need to go portal shopping for a replacement. 'We were committed to Marcel the whole time,' Elko said. But in his breakout performance on a big stage, Reed beat the Tigers throwing just two passes, leaving lingering questions about that part of his game. 'Then you look at Auburn, where he brings us back from a 21-0 deficit, drives us down the field to give us the lead late in the fourth quarter,' Elko said. 'You look at the bowl game, where he throws for (292) yards, drives us down the field to take the lead late in the game. But I think all of that gets trumped by the most-high profile game he plays, which is LSU, where the rhetoric on the entire broadcast is his feet, his feet, his feet. And so that just becomes the easy national narrative to pick up because nobody really wants to do the research to dig into statistically what it looks like.' Heading into Year 3 in College Station, Reed, the former four-star recruit and Tennessee Mr. Football, is embracing his first time being the clear QB1 since high school. 'It's a lot more comfortable coming into the offseason,' Reed said as the Aggies wound down spring practice. 'But you know, there's a lot of pressure, and there's things that are gonna be thrown on my shoulders, and I gotta take it and run with it.' Advertisement Statistically, Reed looks a lot like those far more heralded quarterbacks in the SEC. His completion percentage last season was better than Lagway's (61.3 to 59.9). His yards per pass and efficiency rating were almost identical to Nussmeier's, albeit in far fewer passes. Reed's interception (2.5) and touchdown (6.25) percentages are right in line with those of Sellers. 'I feel like everybody has their perception on who's a good passer and who isn't,' Reed said. 'You can go look at the stats and the percentages all you want. I feel like I'm up there. Actually, I know I'm up there.' And the 6-foot-2, 185-pound Reed ran for 543 yards and seven touchdowns, averaging 4.68 yards per carry. That's the same number of rushing touchdowns as Sellers and one fewer than Vanderbilt's Diego Pavia, with a better per-carry average than both. Texas A&M offensive coordinator Collin Klein said Reed stepped into an offense that lacked explosiveness last season, with limitations at receiver and injuries at running back. 'Candidly, we were not very sexy on offense last year, right?' Klein said. 'Our explosives over 20 (yards) were not nearly where they need to be. I think some of that from a flash perspective probably affects the perception of him.' Still, the Aggies did a lot of important things well. In SEC play, Texas A&M was No. 1 in scoring offense (29.4 points per game), No. 1 in red-zone touchdown and overall scoring percentage and tied for first in turnover margin. 'That doesn't happen if you don't play really well at quarterback,' said Klein. Klein knows all about the value of a quarterback who can make plays with his legs. He ran for 2,485 yards and 56 touchdowns in his career as a 6-4, 225-pound battering ram with Kansas State, becoming a Heisman Trophy finalist in 2012. Reed is a very different type of running threat. Advertisement 'Oh, shoot, he's way the heck faster than I am,' Klein said. 'I wouldn't have gotten hit as much if I had his twitch.' And there is hope in College Station that A&M has upgraded at receiver through the portal, most notably with the addition of KC Concepcion from NC State. Texas A&M was one of a host of CFP contenders and hopefuls who eschewed the transfer portal this offseason at the most important position on the field. Instead of seeking out a plug-and-play veteran quarterback, several teams are rolling with less experienced players who are developing the old-fashioned way. That group includes Julian Sayin at Ohio State and CJ Carr at Notre Dame, both standard redshirt freshmen. Sayin did transfer from Alabama to Ohio State, but he never even made it to spring practice with the Crimson Tide, leaving after Nick Saban's retirement in January 2024. Georgia saw enough from Gunner Stockton in the SEC Championship Game and CFP to roll with him in 2025. Ty Simpson, who has thrown 50 passes in three seasons at Alabama, was leading a three-way competition out of spring practice. At Ole Miss, Austin Simmons takes over for first-round draft pick Jaxson Dart. Simmons' next start will be his first. Reed has more game experience than all of those players — plus Manning — but look at the Heisman odds at BetMGM and you'll find Reed (+4000) behind most of them. There is some irony to Reed being viewed as more of a runner than a passer. At Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville, he directed what he described as a pro-style offense. 'I'd say more than 50 or 60 percent of my snaps were under center back in high school,' Reed said. Thomas Morris of QB Country trained Reed for several years and still stays in touch with his former pupil. Morris said although Reed was well-coached in high school, MBA's offense didn't highlight his athleticism. Advertisement In a 2023 recruiting class headlined by Manning and Nico Iamaleava, who recently transferred from Tennessee to UCLA, Reed was ranked No. 20 among quarterbacks by 247Sports. 'If it was a different offense, I think he probably would have been a five-star, and probably, I think, he would have been the top dual-threat in the country,' Morris said. 'Because he flashed this little Lamar Jackson, kind of Deshaun Watson-type thing, and you could see it, but it just wasn't the offense for it, so he didn't get to put it on display as much as he needed to.' The transfer portal flows both ways, so as important as it was for Texas A&M to be committed to Reed, he needed to reciprocate. 'Quarterback situations around the country are just incredibly fragile all the time, right?' Klein said. 'You think you know one thing one day, and then all of a sudden it changes the next day.' Reed was recruited by the previous staff, but Klein and Elko won him over as they started anew after the fiery collapse of Jimbo Fisher's tenure. 'I think he respected how myself and Coach Elko handled some of the situations last year, with honesty, transparency, fairness,' Klein said. 'Obviously, most of it went in his favor.' Waiting his turn behind Weigman paid off for Reed, and there was no reason to bail on a good situation after showing he could play. 'Obviously, when it comes to hitting the portal and going other places, then you have to meet a whole new roster, all new coaches. You've got to build different relationships,' Reed said. 'And I think the relationships that I built here are the ones that I want to have forever. So there's really no reason for me to leave.'
