Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo star in new trailer for "Wicked: For Good"
The first full-length trailer for Wicked: For Good, the sequel to the hit Wicked film, has been released with Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo reprising their roles as Glinda and Elphaba in this eagerly awaited continuation of the Wizard of Oz spin-off.
The film, based on the popular Broadway musical, will be released on November 21 2025. The production of both films took place at Elstree Studios, Borehamwood, between December 2022 and January 2024, though filming was briefly interrupted by the Hollywood actors' strike.
Following the success of the first film, which grossed over $750 million and earned 10 Oscar nominations, the sequel will see Elphaba branded an enemy of Oz, while Glinda becomes a puppet of the Wizard (Jeff Goldblum).
The trailer teases an emotional journey with new songs, two of which, 'For Good' and 'No Good Deed' are exclusive to the film.
Speaking to Vanity Fair, director Jon M. Chu offered a first glimpse from specific scenes of the second film and revealed that it features new songs by Wicked composer Stephen Schwartz, the introduction of Dorothy Gale, Glinda's wedding, and more.
Additionally, Madam Morrible, Fiyero, Boq, Nessarose played by, Michelle Yeoh, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, and Marissa Bode respectively also return in the sequel.
Fans can look forward to Wicked: For Good as it builds on the success of its predecessor with an even more complex storyline and unforgettable performances.

Veteran television actress Lynn Hamilton, known for her memorable roles in The Waltons and Sanford & Son, has died at her Chicago home at the age of 95. Her extensive television career included recurring roles in 227, Sunset Beach, and The Practice, with additional appearances in shows such as Cold Case, NYPD Blue, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and The Golden Girls. In a 2009 interview, she reflected on her casting in Sanford & Son, explaining that the showrunners needed someone 'dignified' to balance Fred Sanford's brash personality. Hamilton is survived by a lasting legacy in American television. She was married to poet and playwright Frank Jenkins from 1964 until his passing in 2014.

Tom Cruise to receive an honorary Oscar
US actor and film producer Tom Cruise will receive an honorary Oscar ahead of the 2026 Academy Awards, the organisers said Tuesday, marking a career first for the Hollywood veteran, AFP reported. Cruise was selected to receive a statuette for his contributions to cinema, along with choreographer Debbie Allen and production designer Wynn Thomas. Dolly Parton will also be awarded the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award for her decades-long humanitarian work, with the trophies presented at the Academy's 16th Governors Awards event in November. Cruise, 62, has had four Oscar nominations but has never won the prestigious prize, despite achieving global fame for his roles in action films Mission: Impossible and Top Gun. "Tom Cruise's incredible commitment to our filmmaking community, to the theatrical experience, and to the stunt community has inspired us all," the Academy said in a statement. It praised him as "one of the most recognised and highest-grossing actors of all time" and noted his commitment to performing all of his own stunts.
