Fortnite servers down for Chapter 6 Season 3 update – here's when they're back
Epic Games has taken Fortnite servers offline for the Chapter 6 Season 3 update after the Star Wars mini season came to an end with the Death Star Sabotage live event.
Fortnite players were treated to another live event to cap off the Star Wars-themed mini season with Death Star Sabotage and now servers are down as Epic rolls out the new season.
Fortnite servers are down for the Chapter 6 Season 3 update (yes, Season 3 – apparently the last season didn't count as a numbered entry) that's set to launch players into a rumoured superhero-themed season along with their Fortnite OG counterparts who'll be reliving the original Chapter 4, which had the theme of (drumroll) superheroes. It'll also wave goodbye to everything Star Wars for now, with the IP getting a whole season in this year's collab – even if it was a super short one.
That means no more whooshing around in TIE Fighters and X-Wings, which you might not be happy about. But on the flip side, we're also seeing the return of ammo-based weapons with the departure of the charge Star Wars weapons.
The Death Star Sabotage live event capped off the end of the Galactic Battle mini season, and players had a limited time to hop into the game to take part. After the climax, Epic Games turfed everyone out to take Fortnite servers down and implement the Season 3 update. But when will they be back online?
Here's what you need to know about this weekend's bout of downtime and when Fortnite servers are expected to be back up and running.
Fortnite server status
Fortnite servers went down right after the live event which started at at 11am PDT / 2pm EDT / 7pm BST on Saturday, June 7 and ran for almost 20 minutes. The in-game screen confirmed that Fortnite servers will be back online at 5pm PDT / 8pm EDT or 1am BST / 2am CEDT on Sunday, June 8 if you're in the UK and Europe.
What to expect in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3
While Epic has been keeping the theme of Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 under wraps, leakers and dataminers have been busy ferreting about for more information. The next season is reportedly going to have a 'superhero academy' theme, not only aligning with the Fortnite OG theme, but also primes the game for a crossover with the upcoming James Gunn Superman movie releasing this July.

Fortnite Street Fighter skins return to the Item Shop in six huge bundles
The Fortnite Street Fighter skins are finally returning to the Item Shop after an absence of over 1,000 days, but players will need to spend a lot if they want to get their hands on them all The Fortnite Street Fighter collection is making a comeback to the item shop, and if you're keen on acquiring every available cosmetic, it's going to cost you a fair bit. Fortnite is currently in a favourable position, particularly with regards to cosmetics, now that players have access to the Super Season Battle Pass and the opportunity to secure the game's exclusive emote for Nintendo Switch 2. Players are fully engaging with the game's new mythic weapons and even new modes in Fortnite Blitz Royale, but outfits, emotes, and Back Blings continue to be a major draw for many. Fortunately, leakers seem to be consistently ahead of the curve in revealing new and returning cosmetics that will feature in any given Item Shop rotation, even if a recent collection has had a significant wait since its leak. It's finally here, though, and now players have the chance to secure the Fortnite Street Fighter skins they've been coveting since their departure from the Item Shop over 1,000 days ago. So, when exactly are these cosmetics set to return And what's included in the bundles? Here's everything you need to know about the upcoming Fortnite Street Fighter skins. Fortnite Street Fighter skins The Fortnite Street Fighter skins are due to make a comeback on Friday, June 20 at 5pm PDT / 8pm EDT, and Saturday, June 21 at 1am BST. This update has been shared by the official @Fortnite Twitter account in a recent Tweet, which disclosed the cosmetics' return date, aligning with the usual daily Item Shop refreshes. The Fortnite Street Fighter cosmetics are available in six bundles – three featuring skins and assorted cosmetics, and three boasting a collection of other items. The packs are as follows: Ryu and Chun-Li bundle – 2,200 V-Bucks Ryu Outfit – 1,600 V-Bucks Training Bag Back Bling – Included with Ryu Outfit Shoryuken! Built-in Emote – Included with Ryu Outfit Chun-Li Outfit – 1,600 V-Bucks Super Cab-Masher Back Bling – Included with Chun-Li Outfit Lightning Kick! In total, these packs will set you back 11,600 V-Bucks. To accumulate this amount, you'd need to purchase a bundle of 13,500 V-Bucks for £69.99 / $89.99 / AU$119.95. We can't endorse this, but a bundle of 5,000 V-Bucks at £27.99 / $36.99 / AU$47.95 to secure your favourite character bundle and its corresponding gear bundle might be a more sensible option. At present, it's uncertain when the skins will be back, so you may want to secure them while you can. After all, with a hiatus of over 1,000 days, there's really no predicting when they might resurface.

Vikings' Justin Jefferson caught playing Fortnite at Pacers-Thunder game after Stephen A's solitaire uproar
Minnesota Vikings star Justin Jefferson didn't let front-row seats at the NBA Finals stop him from gaming on Thursday night in Indianapolis. A viral clip from the Indiana Pacers' Game 6 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder shows Jefferson playing ' Fortnite ' on his mobile device as a seatmate thumbs around on his phone. Many fans were outraged to see two people squandering courtside seats along the baseline, which were valued at around $50,000 on the resale market. 'Imagine being rich enough where 10 to 50 thousand dollar tickets don't even matter,' one critic wrote in response to the social media clip. Many others offered some version of: 'Just watch the game.' Of course, the clip appears to come from before the opening tip. And while most NBA fans would feel lucky to watch warmups from the baseline, Jefferson is no stranger to that vantagepoint. The former LSU star is a near-fixture at Minnesota Timberwolves games and was regularly seen sitting courtside throughout the playoffs. A clip from the Indiana Pacers' Game 6 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder shows Jefferson (left) playing ' Fortnite ' on his mobile device as a seatmate thumbs around on his phone The viral clip does serve as another warning for high-profile NBA playoff attendees. Just last week, ESPN's Stephen A. Smith was caught playing solitaire during Game 4 of the Finals. A clip of the distracted sports media personality subsequently went viral, leading Smith to offer a defense online. 'Yep! That's me,' Smith wrote. 'Who would've thought….I can multi-task. Especially during TIMEOUTS! Hope y'all are enjoying the NBA Finals. This is going 7 games now, peeps!' Smith was right about this series going seven games. Oklahoma City entered Thursday with a chance to eliminate Indiana on the Pacers' homecourt, but instead fell 108-91. Now the Thunder will have homecourt advantage for the 2024-25 season finale on Sunday night. Once again, the Pacers bench outshined the Thunder's, as power forward Obi Toppin had a team-high 20 points. Meanwhile, Oklahoma City sixth man Alex Caruso had a -33 plus-minus rating for the game as he failed to score. Jefferson and his Vikings teammates are now done with organized team activities (OTAs) and minicamp. They'll return to the team facility in Eagan, Minnesota when training camp begins on July 26.
