Britain's Got Talent's third semi-finalists revealed with stomach-churning twist
The third semi-final of Britain's Got Talent will air this weekend, and it promises to be a dramatic episode which will leave fans on the edge of their seats
Britain's Got Talent viewers will no doubt be shielding their eyes ahead of this weekend's semi-final. Rather than running each semi-final daily, show bosses made the decision to shake the show up this year and will air a live episode each weekend.
But while there's a mixture of contestants taking to the stage this weekend, those tuning in to see who will go through to the final will be left sitting on the edge of their seats. This year, Olly Pearson and Stacey Leadbeatter have already secured their place in the grand final, alongside Vinnie McKee and The Blackouts.
This week, dancers, gymnasts, a musician, singers, and a danger act will take to the stage. But what can we expect? Well, ITV have now confirmed that one of the most stomach-churning acts of the year will be performing in front of the judges and the live studio audience.
Danger act, Bao Cuong, who previously left Alesha Dixon, Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Bruno Toniolo gobsmacked during his intense act. The performer swallowed a string of utensils as well as a giant pair of scissors before a flaming sword. Head judge Simon looked utterly horrified as he branded Bao's performance "disgusting".
Elsewhere, gymnast Albert Amores, 18, wowed the judges with a stunning routine to Benson Boone's hit single Beautiful Things. Albert left the judges so impressed that he received a staggering four yeses and sailed through to the next round of the competition.
Singers Electric Umbrella, who sang their original song Acceptance will also be performing. During their audience, Simon was so happy with their set that they received Simon's second golden buzzer of the audition process.
Meanwhile, Wirral-born dancer Harry Barnes and his dance partner, Lewis, from Manchester, will also be performing a jaw-dropping dance routine. During their audition, the pair who met as children admitted they were "besties" and they both teach children their skills in hopes of inspiring them.
Their routine to Kid Cudi's Day 'n' Nite impressed Alesha Dixon, who said she loved watching the lads' "passion and enthusiasm" as Bruno exclaimed: "What a great job!" They went on to win over the judges and were given four yeses. Also performing is drag queen Jasmine Rice who performed a rendition of Nessun Dorma.
Bruno Tonioli was reduced to tears following the song as he confirmed: "I was crying." Fellow singer Mickey Callisto showcased his impressive talent as he belted out Who Wants To Live Forever by Queen. "Is this Mickey? Is this Freddie? But whatever it was, it's sensational, your voice is absolutely stunning," gushed Alesha.
Italian dance group Ping Pong Pang Crew kicked off the episode of their audition. The group, which also consists of siblings, attracted controversy. They had previously received two golden buzzers while competing on Italy's Got Talent. Scottish musician RuMac will also be taking to the stage, having left KSI, Amanda, Alesha and Simon wowed with his accordion singles as he played Yes Sir, I Can Boogie.
However, Simon was initially doubtful, admitting: "Oh no, it's even worse. It's an accordion. I hate accordions," with Alesha also in agreement. Simon later added: "Accordions and recorders, normally, they don't go down great however, I've never heard anything like this in my life, it was fantastically mad."
Opening the semi-final this week will be the cast of Just For One Day, the musical which delves into the backstage story of the biggest global music event on record, Live Aid. Audiences can expect a showstopping opening as the show is set to transfer to the West End this month, following sold-out runs at London's Old Vic and in Toronto.
Also on the bill this week, Britain's Got Talent reigning champion, Sydnie Christmas, will take to the stage for a jaw-dropping performance. Sydnie won Amanda's Golden Buzzer with her touching rendition of Tomorrow from the musical Annie, before breezing through the semi-finals with her performance of My Way.
However, it was her stunning version of Over the Rainbow that captured the nation's hearts and saw her crowned as the winner of Britain's Got Talent 2024. This year, the final will air much later than usual, with the series likely to crown its champion on Saturday, May 31.

Fern Britton remembers working with Phillip Schofield ‘with fondness'
Schofield resigned from ITV in 2023 after admitting to an 'unwise but not illegal' affair with a much younger male colleague on This Morning. Britton, 67, presented the morning programme with Schofield for eight years before leaving in 2009. In an interview with Saga Magazine, Britton, speaking about Schofield stepping down from This Morning, said: 'It brought up a lot of mixed emotions. The years we worked together were mostly great fun and we were a very good partnership, which I can remember with fondness. 'I knew how much he loved his job and cared deeply for his public perception. It must have been a terribly difficult time for him and his family.' Britton also spoke about learning not to let others take advantage of her easy-going nature. 'I think I understand myself a bit better now, and can look back and see that I foolishly handed power to partners, bosses and colleagues, because I'm very easy-going and I never used to see around the corner and think, 'Oh hang on, they're actually manipulating me',' she said. While Britton may be best known for her years on daytime television, she has also built a career as a novelist. She has lived in Cornwall since splitting from TV chef Phil Vickery in 2020 after two decades of marriage. In her latest book, A Cornish Legacy, she draws on her life to explore themes of divorce, inheritance and the emotional weight of old houses. Talking about whether she would be open to finding new love, she told the magazine: 'I'm not averse to it but they'd have to be bloody spectacular. They have to make me laugh, they must be kind, and they must be honest.' Britton said she is now a regular at church, and talked about it giving her the 'nicest feeling'. She said: 'It's so important to feel useful. I've started regularly going to church, and honestly just helping make the coffees and the sandwiches in the church hall gives me the nicest feeling I've had for a long time.'

Shaughna Phillips shows off her bump on Love Island AfterSun as Maya Jama congratulates the former contestant on her pregnancy
Shaughna Phillips showcased her bump on Love Island AfterSun on Sunday, hours after announcing she is pregnant. The former islander, 31, who is also a mother to Lucia, two, looked radiant as she appeared as a special guest on the ITV 2 spin off show. To discuss her her happy news, the blonde beauty wore an elegant white wrap dress. Appearing alongside Demi Jones, Shaughna was congratulated by host Maya Jama after she revealed she is expecting her second child. Walking over to the two guests, Maya said: 'Hello, congratulations are in order, Shaughna!' The host continued: 'I mean amazing. Baby number two?' which the blonde beauty replied. 'two, here you go and busy!'. Taking to Instagram earlier on Sunday, Shaughna revealed she was expecting as she posted a video of herself taking a pregnancy test and showed off her growing bump. She also shared a sweet video of her daughter Lucia wearing a t-shirt saying 'Big Sis' and 'In my big sister era' to go with the announcement. Shaughna did not reveal who the father of her baby is as she wrote: 'Adding a little more love to our family…' Following the birth of her daughter Lucia in April 2023, Shaughna's boyfriend of four years, Billy Webb, 29, was sentenced to nine years in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to supply 4.5kg of cocaine worth at least £360,000. However Shaughna revealed in November that the father of her little girl had been released after serving only 12 months of his sentence and the family reunited to enjoy a Christmas grotto together. The blonde bombshell has been very open with her fans throughout the ordeal and previously revealed on her podcast Oh, Baby with Shaughna and Holly that she had struggled to come to terms with the situation. She said: 'It's the most gut-wrenching position to be in. Taking to Instagram on Sunday , Shaughna revealed she was expecting as she posted a video of herself taking a pregnancy test and showed off her growing bump 'And, I mean, before I even answer this question, I want to just put it out there that you can judge me all you want, but please don't let me know, because I feel like unless you've been in this position you can't really have an opinion on it. 'Because before I was in this position, before I had a baby, if you had asked me would I ever, ever take my child into a prison, the answer would be absolutely not. Anyone that does that is crazy. 'And then, lo and behold, I'm now in this position. And I think the thing is, we're always going to be co-parents. 'And I know that me and my dad had the best relationship ever, and to me, my dad is the best person in the world. 'And I don't want Lucia to think differently of her father. I would never, ever stop him from seeing her, ever.' Sharing an adorable video to her Instagram announcing he had been released, the reality star revealed that she and her partner had taken Lucia to see Santa and added she never thought this day would come. She captioned the clip: 'If you had told me this time last year, that me and Billy would be taking Lucia to see Santa next Christmas, I probably wouldn't have let myself believe you 'The best couple of days, this Christmas is going to be so special'. The star also revealed to MailOnline that she had struggled raising her daughter as a single mother. She said: 'Having a newborn baby, hormones are all over the place and I was just struggling' 'Anyone who's had kids they'll probably say that when they're a newborn it's easiest because they just lie there and need to be fed but as they get older and they can talk back and say no... It's exhausting.'
