Manikrao Kokate
visited rain-affected areas in Sinnar taluka of Nashik district.At Pandhurli village in Sinnar, Kokate assessed the extent of crop destruction and road damage caused by the recent rain.The minister assured govt would implement swift measures to assist the affected farmers.
He directed officials to promptly conduct a panchnama of the rain-induced crop damage and deliver a report soon. He engaged with affected farmers who suffered substantial losses during his visit. The agricultural community requested immediate assistance for those impacted.The visit to the rain-affected areas included officials from state agriculture and revenue departments alongside farmers. Recent unseasonal showers have affected crops and orchards across approximately 2,500 hectares in various areas of the district. The combination of unseasonal rainfall and hail primarily impacted areas within Chandwad, Kalwan, Surgana, Sinnar, Igatpuri, Niphad, Malegaon, and Satana talukas.The rain mostly damaged onion crops, vegetables, and mango orchards. Initial assessments by the state agriculture department indicate that since May 6, the unusual rain affected crops and orchards across 2,500 hectares in more than 350 villages across nine talukas, impacting over 10,000 farmers. The damage included onion crops on 1,000 hectares, mango orchards on 486 hectares, vegetables on 278 hectares, and various other crops.

The Indian Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert over heatwave in Delhi for the next two days amid residents grappling with unbearably high temperatures in the city, with a 'feels-like' temperature reportedly close to 50 degrees Celsius. With all five weather stations recording a surge in temperature, the weather department was warned of a heatwave in Delhi. Based on the warning for Delhi, the IMD has issued an orange alert for June 10 and June 11. This warning comes after the weather department stated that heatwave conditions are expected to prevail over Northwest India for the next four to five days. As per the IMD, the temperature in Delhi is expected to breach the 45 degrees Celsius mark in the next few days. Based on the data shared by the IMD, temperatures across the national capital saw a rise. The maximum temperature as of 8:30 AM on Tuesday was recorded at Ridge station of 44.9 degrees Celsius. Ayanagar recorded a maximum temperature of 45.3 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, Palam recorded 44.3 degrees Celsius. On Monday, while the maximum temperature reached 45.5 degrees Celsius at IGNOU and 45.3 degrees at Ayanagar, Delhi's heat index, or the "feels-like" temperature due to the humidity, was 49 degrees Celsius, according to a Times of India report. In Safdarjung, the temperature reached 43.4 degrees Celsius, whereas the Lodhi Road station recorded a maximum temperature of 43.3 degrees Celsius. A heatwave warning has also been issued for Punjab and Haryana. As per the IMD, Haryana's Sirsa recorded a maximum temperature of 46.4 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, a red alert has been issued for states such as Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh for severe heatwave like conditions. Meanwhile in the southern and northeastern parts of India, the IMD has predicted more rainfall due to the southwest monsoon. Regions of coastal and interior Karnataka, interior Kerala and Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal are expected to receive more rain. Meanwhile, easter and northeastern states such as Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, and Odisha, are also likely to witness rainfall.

Bhopal: The day temperature in the city is again inching towards 40 degrees Celsius mark. In the weather outlook, the meteorological dept on Friday stated that a gradual rise in temperature by 2 degrees to 4 degrees Celsius in the next four days. Besides, the dept stated that the northern limit of monsoon continues to pass through Mumbai, Ahilyanagar, Adilabad, Bhawanipatna, Puri, Sandhead Island, and Balurghat. The day temperature in Bhopal on Friday was recorded at 38.3 degrees Celsius, two degrees less than the normal for this time of the year, while night temperature in the city was 23.2 degrees Celsius, four degrees less than the normal mark. In the forecast for Bhopal on Saturday, the meteorological dept stated there would be partly cloudy sky with chances of thundery development in the afternoon and evening hours. Day and night temperature would be respectively 39 degrees celsius and 24 degrees celsius while average wind speed will be 20 kilometers per hour. In the forecast for the state, the dept issued warning of thunderstorm with lightning or gusty wind 40 kmph-50 kmph at isolated places in Guna, Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, Morena, Sheopurkalan, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh and Niwari dists. A possibility of rainfall or drizzle with thunderstorm, lightning at isolated places in Bhopal, Vidisha, Raisen, Sehore, Rajgarh, Narmadapuram, Betul, Harda, Dhar, Indore, Ujjain, Dewas, Shajapur, Guna, Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, Morena, Sheopur, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, Seoni, Mandla, Balaghat, Damoh, Sagar, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Niwari and Pandhurna dists.
