It looks like Bo Nix attended Tez Johnson's draft party
The Nix family took Tez Johnson into their home when he was a 15-year-old high school football player, and while he was not formally adopted, Johnson and Bo Nix consider themselves brothers. Nix and Johnson played together at Oregon in 2023, connecting 86 times for 1,182 yards and 10 touchdowns last season.
When Nix went pro last spring, Johnson was by his side when his brother and quarterback got "The Call" from the Denver Broncos during the 2024 NFL draft. Fittingly, when Tez waited to hear his name called during the 2025 NFL draft, it appears that Nix was at his brother's draft party this time around.
Johnson shared a post on in Instagram page that showed him getting the call and then celebrating with friends and family. Nix is shown in the last slide and Johnson is wearing the same suit in the same room, so it seems fair to assume Nix was among those in attendance. Nix's wife, Izzy, also shared a video on her Instagram story from Johnson's watch party.

Following the draft, Nix shared a message to Johnson on his Instagram story: "Keep proving them wrong kid @tezmania15."
Johnson ended up being picked by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the seventh round of the draft (No. 235 overall). The Bucs are not among Denver's list of opponents this fall, but Nix and Johnson should face off on the field at some point down the road in their NFL careers.

There's a new generation of receivers taking over the NFL, and they are quickly encroaching upon some of the players in league history. Advertisement Minnesota Vikings star Justin Jefferson seems to set receiving records each season. In 2024, Cincinnati Bengals receiver Ja'Marr Chase won the receiving triple crown. Fellow LSU alumni and New York Giants dynamo Malik Nabers wasn't too far behind despite bottom-barrel quarterbacking, and it seems like every offseason offers a new batch of studs to choose from. And yet, none of them hold a candle to Tampa Bay Buccaneers veteran Mike Evans' production. Only Jerry Rice has as many consecutive 1,000-yard seasons (11) as Evans, and the greatest receiver to ever live is the only player with more quadruple-digit campaigns. Nobody is touching that mark any time soon; it's a matter of circumstance, luck, and a whole lot of talent. If anyone is going to break it, Chase and his connection with quarterback Joe Burrow might have the best chance. Advertisement The Buccaneers legend revealed his take on Chase in an interview with Greg Auman. 'Ja'Marr Chase. He's a guy where if you said he was better than me — I don't think anybody's better than me — but if you said him, I would understand,' Evans said. There's a very real chance that Chase's peak is greater than Evans'. The latter has never led the league in receiving or receptions. Chase did so in 2024. He also picked up a first-team All-Pro selection this past season, something Evans hasn't done through his 11-year career. For what it's worth, Chase has a long way to go to match Evans' streak of 11 seasons. He's logged at least 1,000 yards in his first four seasons. The aforementioned Burrow certainly helps his chances, as does a running mate in receiver Tee Higgins who takes some attention away. Chase will have to stay healthy to hit those marks, but few will doubt his ability to produce those kinds of seasons. Advertisement Perhaps Evans' ability to remain consistent with Jameis Winston, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Baker Mayfield, and a host of other passers makes his record even more impressive. Chase will hope to take one step closer to Evans this year, although Cincinnati and Tampa Bay won't play in the 2025 regular season. Somehow, the four-time MVP accumulated that power then. And he's using it now, as his new team works to customize its offense to fit his legendary (if fading) skill set. After ending a three-month wait by signing a one-year contract, Rodgers is being allowed to put his hands on the steering wheel. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin, offensive coordinator Arthur Smith and Rodgers have all been in communication about changing the team's offense to fit the new QB. And Hoge is buying it. "When you have a guy like Aaron Rodgers, I personally believe it's insanity not to give the reins and trust the guy who's inside those white lines, who understands and feels the game, knows the game and is gonna get us in the best possible position." And nobody around here wants "insanity.'' Factually, though, Rodgers being allowed to "help run the New York Jets'' didn't work over the span of his two seasons there. he did as he wishes, skipped work when it fit him, pushed for buddies to be signed to the roster ... And ultimately was more part of the problem rather than the solution during an awful 5-12 season that got him kicked to the curb of free agency. Advertisement It will be a big for the Steelers - the only team that really bid on him - as they work to transform an offense built around 2024 quarterbacks Russell Wilson and Justin Fields. Fields, in particular, can move. The 41-year-old pocket passer Rodgers? Not so much, as last season he was sacked 40 times. Does Tomlin fix all of that? Does Smith? Maybe Rodgers must take it on his shoulders to do so. After all, it's "insanity'' to not let him do so.
