Bhavans- Bahrain Indian School (BIS) celebrated the joyous occasion of Eid Al Adha with a cultural assembly that brought together students, teachers, and staff in a spirit of harmony and festivity. The event reflected the school's commitment to nurturing cultural awareness, mutual respect, and spiritual values among its students.
Students took to the stage with a well-performed skit on Islamic values, emphasizing principles such as kindness, humility, and honesty.
A highlight of the assembly was a short mime act that illustrated how to perform Tawaf in Madina, which offered a unique, visual insight into this important ritual. A Hindi Nasheed followed.
A special highlight of the celebration was a Qawwali performance by kindergarten students. The kindergarten students. dressed in colorful traditional attire also performed a short skit on the significance of Eid,
Following the cultural programme, students participated in Eid-themed craft activities. The day concluded on a sweet note with the distribution of traditional treats to all, reinforcing the message of sharing and joy that defines Eid.
The School Directors. Himanshu Verma and Ritu Verma appreciated the students' efforts and highlighted the significance of Eid as a festival of unity, compassion, and spiritual reflection. Principal Saji Jacob addressed the gathering with an inspiring speech, highlighting the essence of Eid and the importance of celebrating it with unity and gratitude.

The vibrant event marked the inauguration of the society's new executive committee for the year 2025-26 and concluded the silver jubilee celebrations held by the society last year. A highlight was the Mehndi Night held in conjunction with Eid. The musical night featuring Mappila songs and a one-man show by renowned singer and comedy artist Rajesh Adimali added to the grandeur of the ceremonies. The event, held in a packed auditorium with prominent figures from Bahrain's social, cultural, and political spheres, along with representatives from other organizations, family members, and children, was presided over by the society's chairman, Sanish Koorumullil. The chief guest, Idukki Member of Parliament Adv. Dean Kuriakose, inaugurated the function by lighting the traditional lamp. Special address Prominent businessman and Pravasi Bharathiya Samman Award recipient K. G. Baburajan delivered a special address as the guest of honor. The GSS Business Icon Award for this year was presented to Dr. K. S. Menon, a prominent businessman and Managing Director of Bordaan Contracting Company, by the chief guest. Shabeer M. K., Managing Director of Uniform City, was also felicitated at the ceremony

Bhavans - Bahrain Indian School wins laurels at Middle East French recitation contest

Bhavans- Bahrain Indian School (BIS) proudly celebrates a remarkable achievement at the BME French Poetica 2025, organized by Indian Educational School, Bhavans, Kuwait on Saturday, 31st May 2025,via Online platform. The event saw enthusiastic participation from Bhavans schools across the GCC Region, showcasing students' flair and finesse in French Poetry Recitation. The competition witnessed participation from various Bhavans schools across the Middle East, including institutions from Kuwait, UAE (Al Ain, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Dubai), and the Kingdom of Bahrain, represented by Bahrain Indian School. Participants were evaluated on a well-rounded set of criteria, including clear pronunciation (50%), effective intonation and voice modulation (30%), and confident memorization with fluent delivery (20%). These standards ensured a fair and comprehensive assessment of each student's recitation skills. The recitations, evaluated by a panel of two professional judges, were conducted online and brought out the best in young talents from across the Middle East. Bahrain Indian School emerged with flying colours, with two students earning top accolades: Olive Maria George, Grade 6, secured First Prize in Category 1 and Mishal Imtiaz, Grade 10, bagged First Prize in Category 2 Their performances stood out for their eloquence, emotion, and confidence in delivering French poetry with remarkable precision and grace. The Directors Himanshu Verma and Ritu Verma, and Principal of Bahrain Indian School Saji Jacob congratulated both the winners.
