Argos confirms exact time Nintendo Switch 2 is on sale

Daily Mirror03-06-2025

The Nintendo Switch 2 goes on sale this Thursday, and Argos has confirmed the time it'll put the console up for sale and one retailer that's refreshed its pre-order stock
Demand is soaring around Nintendo's newest Switch 2 console, which will be available for UK gamers to buy this coming Thursday, June 5. After a whirlwind of pre-orders, which are notoriously hard to get hold of, the more powerful console will be available for all shoppers to buy very soon.
As retailers including Amazon, Currys, and the My Nintendo Store are still offering pre-orders, with fluctuating stock, Argos has unveiled a key update for this week's sale date. Very currently has the best stock levels as the Mario Kart Bundle and Switch 2 console are both available to order today.
While Argos' pre-orders are all currently out of stock, it has shared the exact time it'll go on sale. Sending out a note to interested fans, it said 'the Nintendo Switch 2 is almost here' and revealed the time UK shoppers will want to be online for. It said: "All Argos customers can get their hands on the newest evolution of the console from 6am on Thursday 5th June and with Argos's same-day click and collect service, they can have it up and running in no time."
For shoppers looking to get their hands on the device, it's worth saving these pages now, to boost chances of getting a Switch 2 as soon as 6am starts on Thursday. For the standard black Switch 2 console - this is the link to follow - to buy at a price of £359.99 on Thursday (the same price as the current out-of-stock pre-order). Those looking for a bundle, will be able to get the Switch 2 with Mario Kart World for £429.99.
Currently, pre-order deals are proving hard to come by and going in and out of stock by the hour. Amazon did drop a surprise restock on the model so it could be worth refreshing before Thursday. The best stock as we speak is Very - the Mario Kart World and Switch 2 console is available to order now.
It's not the only gaming deal on our radar this week, rivals at Sony have launched a 'Days of Play Sale ' which includes discounts on its newest console - the PS5 Pro. This runs next week on June 11.
The Switch 2 will come with a flurry of enhancements compared to the OLED and Lite models. Launching back on April 2, Nintendo said it brings 'new ways to play games'. It has a larger 7.9-inch LCD screen and displays in full HD at 1080p.
The console will also have a redesigned dock with 4K and HDR support, and the Joy-Con 2 controllers will offer mouse controls and magnetic attachment. Plus, the Switch 2 will support new features like GameChat, a voice chat and screen sharing service, and DLSS and ray tracing for improved graphics - for those who wondered how it compared to older models.
Other features where it differs to other Nintendo Switch models include its shorter battery life and a higher price point, which is worth flagging with shoppers.

Great news for those who have free next day delivery with ASOS as that means they'll have more than enough time to prepare for next week's gig. The unisex shirt from ASOS is just £22, one of the cheaper merchandise options (Image: ASOS ) H&M The high street store seems to have only one Oasis t-shirt option, and that is the white loose fit t-shirt for £12.99, the cheapest option of all on this list. It features an Oasis logo on the front and on the reverse a tambourine, with writing that reads 'Purchased in Manchester in '94. Appears on the cover of Supersonic. Has been played on EVERY Oasis track Ever.'- NG. Reviewers have recommended sizing down, as it is not true to size and rather baggy. One person said: "I loved the look of this shirt, it was very soft and the fabric was of a great quality, however the shirt itself was too large (not true to size), and for that reason I would recommend buying these types of shirts in store as it'll be easier to find a size that doesn't look too baggy" However if you like a baggier fit to your clothes, go for your normal size, much like other reviewers. One said: "So lucky to get my hands on this piece! Bought for my partner who is 6'4', quite lanky and prefers baggier and longer fitting t-shirts. Size XL was the perfect fit. Lovely feel to the fabric and heavier quality than expected for the price, win win!" Oasis official store As you may expect, the most expensive merchandise option can be found on the band's official store. It has a wide array of merchandise options, including their new line with Adidas. You can read more about their collaboration here. The prices vary from t-shirts priced at £30 to one of their Adidas/Oasis long sleeve tee priced at £55. They also have track pants for £75 and a classic coach's jacket from Adidas/ Oasis to celebrate their Live '25 reunion tour, which will set you back £100. Article continues below I think they may have missed a trick not featuring branded anoraks or bucket hats, but it is clear fans have plenty of options to pick from.

Two popular ‘dodgy' apps showing football games for free are BLOCKED on millions of Fire Sticks

The pair of apps provide links to hundreds of channels from across the world, ranging from movies to sports. The two apps in question are Flix Vision and Live NetTV. Users have started complaining on social media that the pair no longer work, suggesting Amazon may have blocked them. It's not clear why at this stage. AFTVNews suggests that the block may have come about due to concerns over alleged malware hiding on the apps. Amazon has been approached by The Sun for comment. The tech giant has been increasingly accused of not doing enough to prevent illegal streaming. Earlier this year, broadcasting firm Sky hit out at Amazon for not doing enough to tackle piracy, saying that the problem is costing the industry "hundreds of millions of dollars". 'If you speak to friends and colleagues, [or] you watch football, people will know that you can get jail-broken Fire Sticks, and you can access pirated services on Fire Sticks,' Nick Herm, chief operating officer at Sky said in March. Herm accused Amazon in particular of not doing "enough engagement to address some of those problems, where people are buying these devices in bulk". He also believes that modified Fire Sticks "probably" make up "about half of the piracy" in the UK. Amazon has previously said that it is "committed to providing customers with a high-quality streaming experience while actively promoting a streaming landscape that respects intellectual property rights and encourages the responsible consumption of content".

The software most commonly used is called Kodi. It can grant users unrestricted access to new features and apps the normal version of the device wouldn't allow – but it is not legal to use in the UK. But it becomes illegal when a box is used to stream subscription channels for free. It is also illegal to buy or sell these modified devices which have become known as "fully-loaded" - a term that describes how the software has been altered to allow access to subscription-only channels. 'These devices are legal when used to watch legitimate, free to air, content,' the government said at the time. 'They become illegal once they are adapted to stream illicit content, for example TV programmes, films and subscription sports channels without paying the appropriate subscriptions.'
