Top international prospect Dame Sarr commits to Duke
May 22 - Duke gained a commitment from Dame Sarr, the top international 2025 prospect, on Thursday, helping the Blue Devils to ease the sting of losing four of their top five scorers to the 2025 NBA Draft.
The 18-year-old announced his commitment to Duke via ESPN, calling it "my dream school."
"My ultimate goal is to play in the NBA," Sarr said. "There's no better place to prepare you for that than Duke."
A 6-foot-8 wing from Oderzo, Italy, Sarr made his Spanish ACB league debut for Barcelona in 2023. Then 16, Sarr became the second-youngest player in club history.
He had a strong performance at the Nike Hoop Summit in Portland, Ore., in April, where he recorded 17 points and four boards in 25 minutes against the top high school players in the United States, including future Duke teammates Cameron and Cayden Boozer.
Sarr's commitment further bolsters the Blue Devils' recruiting class, which ranks third in the nation, according to the 247Sports composite behind only Houston and Arizona.

However, he has drawn criticism from fans and pundits for his lack of efficiency in front of goal as well as his poor discipline, having been sent off in Chelsea's 3-1 loss to Flamengo in the Club World Cup. Just a month ago, Jackson's Premier League season ended prematurely when he was sent off for a similar challenge against Newcastle on May 11 and handed a three-match ban. If you're p***ed off that Delap's coming to the football club and he's going to be the competition with you... you have to embrace it if you are a big player. 'Lots of emotion in the studio, so apologies for any language used there,' she said, holding out both hands in a calming gesture towards Obi Mikel. German publication Bild report that the Bundesliga champions are discussing whether to make a bid for Martinelli, who has two years left on his contract. Bayern boss Kompany is keen to sign a new winger, with Leroy Sane having departed for Galatasaray. But Martinelli, 24, isn't the only candidate. Liverpool duo Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo have admirers at the Allianz Arena as well as Borussia Dortmund's Jamie Gittens. Last month, the Athletic reported that Martinelli is valued at £50m. That'd be 10 times the fee which the Gunners paid to sign him from Brazilian side Ituano in 2019. In 225 appearances for Arsenal, Martinelli has scored 51 goals and provided 29 assists. His most productive campaign was the 2022-23 season, bagging 15 goals and laying on six assists.
