A male is dead and another person is in custody after a shooting on Detroit's west side Sunday morning, according to police.
The incident happened on the 700 block of Grand Boulevard around 10:30 a.m.
Detroit police Commander Ian Severy says a dispute between the male and another person led to shots being fired. The male died from gunshot wounds.
The other person involved in the dispute is in custody, and officials say they're cooperating with investigators.

It's unknown if the two people knew each other.
Severy says Sunday's shooting had no impact on Detroit's Cinco de Mayo parade, which happened around four miles west of the incident.

Suspect accused of committing "heinous act" on the run after Detroit police standoff
Detroit police are searching for a suspect wanted for a "heinous" crime. The investigation led police to a home on Sirron Street, just off of Outer Drive and Van Dyke earlier Tuesday. There were a lot of police vehicles and tactical teams called in for a barricaded subject. Police left before 3 p.m. because the suspect was not inside the home. "He's wanted for allegedly committing a very heinous act this early this morning, and we're trying to ensure that he's taken into custody safely. So that the victims of this crime, as well as other members of the community, can rest easy," said Commander Ian Severy with the Detroit Police Department Severy says officers came to the home around 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, and were hoping to catch a suspect wanted for a crime that allegedly happened earlier that day. Officers breached the Sirron Street home, and that's when they learned there was no one inside. Police say no shots were fired at officers. Valerie Yancy, who lives nearby, says that as soon as she heard all the noise and saw the police lights, they evacuated their home. "Seeing that it's that close to the house, it was scary that my kids is here, my disabled cousin. That's why we left, just in case shots get fired or anything. We won't be in the middle of the crossfire, you know, bullets to go anywhere," Yancy said. Police would not go into details about the crime, but said two victims have been treated at a local hospital.

Charges filed against three arrested in connection with shooting at Collective
Charges have officially been filed against three residents allegedly connected to the shooting outside The Collective in early May. Terrance Britton, 25, Malcome Barnes, 24, and Ahoneste Walker, 23, were charged with using a vehicle to facilitate a shooting and nine counts of assault and battery with a deadly weapon. Barnes and Britton also face charges of third-degree arson and destroying evidence. The shooting ― which seriously wounded four people and injured at least five more ― occurred outside the food hall in Oklahoma City's Midtown, where people had gathered for a Cinco de Mayo celebration and to watch an Oklahoma City Thunder playoff game against the Denver Nuggets. 'Midtown is a bustling social area, and people should feel safe going to Midtown with their friends and families,' said Oklahoma County District Attorney Vicki Behenna, whose office announced the charges Friday. 'Gun violence in the streets of Midtown, or anywhere else in Oklahoma County, will not be tolerated by my office.' According to arrest affidavits written by police, a fight had broken out between Walker and other patrons just minutes beforehand outside the restaurant. As detailed in the affidavits, detectives learned from shooting victims that Walker was heard calling Britton, her boyfriend, over the phone, claiming that she had been jumped and that "she was going to have her man come over and shoot the spot up." About five minutes after the phone call, Britton pulled up in a red Hyundai Sonata with Barnes, and shots were fired at the crowd, according to the affidavits. Court filings also show that the vehicle had been reported stolen in Moore and was later found burned near Interstate 240 Service Road just west of Bryant Avenue on May 7. 'It has to stop': OKC district reeling after shooting injures 9 outside The Collective Police said Britton was arrested after a traffic violation in Moore on May 12. He had already been in violation of his probation after pleading guilty in 2024 to assault and battery with a deadly weapon and was taken into federal custody May 23, according to jail officials. Jail records show that Barnes and Walker also were arrested June 3. They were both being held in the Oklahoma County jail on $1 million bonds as of June 14. Attorneys were not listed in online court records for any of the three charged in the case. Deceased body found in car at Shelby Township park, circumstances under investigation

Macomb County officials have confirmed a body was transported from River Bends Park on 22 Mile Road, Shelby Township, to the medical examiner's office. There were youth recreational games scheduled that day at the township park along the Clinton River, which were then canceled after first responders went to the scene around 10 a.m. Further queries on the investigation were referred to Shelby Township Police, which has not yet issued a report on the incident. CBS News Detroit will continue to follow this story.
