20 Shoes That May Cost A Little Extra But Will Be *Totally* Worth It

Buzz Feed11-02-2025

Unless otherwise specified, all sizes in this post are listed in women's.
1. New Balance 327s that...might be the perfect pair of sneakers? They're inspired by New Balance running shoes from the '70s, with a retro-meets-current silhouette that'll be on-trend now also but not look dated next year. They'll be your go-to pair with athleisure, suiting, dresses, and more — and best of all, they're *super* comfy.
I have these sneakers in two colors (the black and white pictured above and a pair with blue accents that's not currently available), and I wear them *all the time*. They're the perfect balance of slightly chunky but not bulky, and I love the slightly retro look. And of course, they're VERY comfy. I wear them all the time walking around New York, and I brought one pair on a recent trip to Paris where I walked 81 miles in 8.5 days (I wore the New Balances on 7/8.5 days!) and I was comfy on every step. I saw several other people wearing them there, too! I am probably going to buy a third pair (I know...) in the sea salt with sandstone colorway, which is the perfect neutral.
Promising review: "Fantastic! Give me one in every color! If you're on the fence, buy them. I get compliments all the time, and I'm on my feet all day. My favorite pair of New Balances to date!" —Amber B TX
Get them from New Balance for $99.99 (available in sizes 5–12 and eight colorways, plus a version for golfing).
2. Sam Edelman loafers with a chic double-bit accent; they're sure to be your go-to slip-on shoes; they're a classic for a reason! And reviewers note the leather is "buttery soft," making them comfy straight out of the box. Why splurge on Gucci?

FYI, if you have Amazon Prime you can try before you buy!
Promising review:"These shoes are a favorite! I ordered the black after having a beet red color for about a year and a half. They were comfortable right out of the box, the leather is supple, and they look high quality. I am very happy with my purchase. These are often compared to the Brixton loafer from a high-end fashion brand." — Christine
Get them from Amazon for $150 (available in sizes 4–13, in wide width, and in 45 colors and patterns).
3. A pair of Aerosoles platform sandals if you're looking for a bit of a height boost but still want to be comfy all night. The platform front helps mitigate the three-inch heel, and the ~diamond flex sole~ is designed to reduce friction. Spoiler alert: they just might become your go-to event shoes.

Promising review:"These are super cute and by far the most comfortable heels I've ever worn. My feet are wide and flat so typically heeled shoes are not my friend. For context, I wore them to a baby shower and afterward walked around Whole Foods with zero issues. I'm definitely buying these in silver next." — Adriana L.
Get them from Aerosoles or Nordstrom for $135 (available in sizes 5–12, wide, and in 14 colors and patterns).
4. Columbia hiking shoes because it's leaf-peeping season, and you should take that hike in full comfort. The soles? They're a high-traction rubber, so you can avoid treacherous tumbles. The uppers? They're (waterproof!) leather and suede designed to last miles and miles. And the red laces? Well, they're just the cute little cherry on top.
Prime members: You can try before you buy!
Here's BuzzFeed Shopping editor Jenae Sitzes: Reviewers swear these don't even have a break-in period, making them a great pickup for that last-minute outdoorsy trip where hiking and rough terrain are on the docket. Note that it's recommended to go up a half size in these boots to accommodate thicker hiking socks, and I found that to be true when I picked up these shoes myself — I'm normally an 8 but found an 8.5 in these to be totally comfortable. I also found that they hold up well even on my first hike — though I did admittedly still have some soreness around my heel area, this was after a hard, 7+-mile hike with lots of rocks and climbing, so I don't blame the shoes. They felt comfortable right out of the box and super supportive when I was clamoring over rocks and rough terrain. And though I only stepped in water a couple of times briefly, my socks stayed dry, too. I got the brown color with red laces as pictured above, and they're even cuter in person, which is just another plus.
Promising review: "There's a reason that these hiking boots are the #1 best hiking boots on Amazon. I am amazed that they are so comfortable. This is day four that I've worn them, and my feet feel fantastic! I hiked four miles on the second day, and my feet were not tired, achy, or sore. I have been hiking for 30 years and have had numerous boots, but not a single pair has been this comfortable. The price is so worth it for what you get." — Granny B
Get them from Amazon for $42.85+ (available in sizes 5–12, including wide sizes, and 16 colors). You can find a similar men's version here.
5. A pair of Alohas ankle boots with a juuuust under 3-inch heel to elevate your outfit with that lightly '70s boot look that's so on trend — but still classic enough to wear for years to come. Spoiler alert: you might come back for a second pair.

Definitely recommend these boots to anyone looking for a great wardrobe staple." —Gabraelle Hanus

Just use Dr. Martens Wonder Balsam to condition and protect the leather as needed!

FYI, if you have Amazon Prime you can try before you buy!
Promising review:"I'm in love. I'm never buying another brand of combat boots again. I'd been hesitant to buy Docs because of the price, but these were absolutely worth it. They have excellent support (comfortable enough to wear for eight-hour shifts on my feet), and they're grippy enough to handle snow, sleet, and New England winters. I tend to wear my shoes to death, but I've been wearing these pretty much daily for four months, and they're holding up well." — R

Promising review:"I normally don't like wearing tennis shoes all day because my feet tend to sweat in them, then swell when I take them off. These are the best brand of tennis shoes I have ever owned. They feel wonderful on my arthritic feet, and my feet breathe in them all day, so they never sweat and don't swell up when I take them off. I bought a second pair in white. Well worth the money. All my other tennis shoes are going to Goodwill." — SBoo

29 Comfortable Shoes To Wear This Summer If You Refuse To Deal With Blisters

Strappy chunky heels perfect for tearing it up on the dance floor this wedding season. Despite the solid, budget-friendly price, reviewers confirm there's no painful break-in period. "Barefoot" walking sneakers designed to feel like you're wearing nothing at at all... I'm talking: elastic collars, *memory foam-padded* heels, and a wide toe box. It's the foot equivalent of wearing pajamas outside. Soda flatform espadrilles offering an adorably chunky look that just screams beach vacation. In fact, I think they're already looking up flights to Greece as we speak. Foam slides so soft and squishy, you'll feel like you strapped pillows to your feet. Wear 'em around the house, to the spa, at the beach, or for long walks on vacation. Yes, they really can do it all! A pair of New Balance's classic 574s offering such foot-loving comfort, it's no wonder the brand has been a dad fave for so long. Now put these on and get out there to mow the lawn! A pair of ankle rain boots because I can't be the only one annoyed by clunky knee-high wellies hitting me in the shins. These sleek Chelsea boots are more comfortable and subtle enough that you can even wear them on sunny days without getting any weird looks. A pair of crossed-ankle-strap flats for anyone looking for a touch of ballerina chicness but without any of the toe-crunching agony that normally comes with the line of work. A pair of Cushionaire cork-bottom sandals that are not only supremely comfortable but also an affordable alternative to Mayari Birks. The similarities go past just looks: They also have 100% genuine suede soles, so your feet are still treated to the best. Or if you're looking for an alternative to Birkenstock Bostons, a pair of clogs doing a great impression for a fraction of the price — soft suede, arch support, cork footbeds, and all. Water-resistant slip-on sneakers from Dr. Scholl's (that's right, the shoe insert people) with cushioned insoles that will cradle your foot through hours of walking. They're easy to kick on and off, making them ideal for going on early morning dog walks, making quick trips to the mailbox, and breezing through the TSA line. The famous Plaka sandals — over 19,000 5-star reviewers love these for their comfort and water-resistant braided straps that make them the ultimate beachwear. The beach is a no-blister zone! Adidas Cloudfoam Pure running sneaks that stay true to their name — it really feels like walking on clouds! The memory sockliner molds to your foot so the shoes start cushy and only get comfier with time. Oiled nubuck clogs with tractor soles to keep you from slipping while you attempt to get the perfect angle for a photo of you and the pretty summer flowers you match. Rothy's slip-on sneakers that are a favorite amongst parents, long-walk-takers, and pet owners. These are machine washable, so you can just throw them in the laundry bin whenever they're looking a lil' dingy. And pointed-toe flats similar to classic Rothy's with stretchy knit uppers that'll have you tap dancing with glee when you try them on. When your dancing shoes start to get dusty, just toss 'em in the wash. Ergonomic FitFlops that have been engineered to be the flip-flops to top all flip-flops. The air-foam soles are shaped to perfectly cradle your feet, meaning you can flip *and* flop for hours, pain-free. A pair of over-the-knee boots for when you know your night out is gonna involve a lot of walking but still want to serve. The stretchy thigh-highs will make any outfit club ready, and the chunky heels will let you actually dance when you get there. Crocs wedges that are decidedly less aesthetically offensive than the clog version but just as comfortable. Reviewers swear by them for any event that requires a lot of walking or standing. Crisscross slingbacks for anyone who loves flats but is sick and tired of ballerina flats. These buttery leather sandals were handmade in Argentina and only get softer with time. Sanuk flip-flops with cushioning that mimics yoga mat material, meaning your sweaty feet are going to be in good hands. Oh, and they last FOR-EVERRR. Lightweight and breathable sock-style sneakers for people who long to wear slippers outside. These knit kicks hug your feet and stretch as you walk. The flexible grooves add extra grip so you can scamper up rocks or skip down cobblestones without falling on your face (hopefully). Ultra-lightweight Cole Haan sneakers with a simple silhouette that makes it an easy choice to grab and go every single morning. There's no break-in period, so you can take these leather-topped cuties for a stroll right out of the box. Dansko Britney clogs, a longtime favorite amongst all foot-havers thanks to their incredible arch support, durability, adjustable straps, and general art-teacher-chic style. Sorel Kinetic Impact lace sneakers with a lightweight, breathable design boasting a dual-section sole for some much-needed cushioning. The cute scalloped sole is just the cherry on top. Or a Sorel strappy sandal in a variety of fun and eye-popping colorways. Take a look at the below in all their candy-colored glory. Like the sneaker version, the scalloped soles are lightweight but offer increased ground contact for support. Fisherman-inspired sandals with crisscross straps that keep your feet securely in place so you're good to go if you need to run to the ice cream truck. The cushioned faux-cork footbed is just the comfortable cherry on top! Allbirds tree runners that are honestly a fan-favorite of the BuzzFeed Shopping team. Anyone who has worn them has claimed that there isn't a single sneaker in existence that can beat them in sheer comfort. A pair of chunky Fila platform sneakers offering effortless style *and* a little lift. The thick rubber soles and extra padding will keep your tootsies safe even if someone accidentally steps on your foot on a crowded sidewalk. Soludos lace-up espadrilles that are somehow super comfortable despite the 4-inch lift. Reviewers swear that these things are more lightweight and comfortable than normal high-heels thanks to the sturdy, jute-wrapped wedge. BONUS: Dr. Frederick's Original Better Blister Bandages if you've been wearing shoes not featured on this list and suffered the consequences. The cushioned, water-resistant hydrocolloid bandages speed up the healing process while protecting blisters from further damage. The tapered edges mean you can wear them for a few days in a row without worrying about your new shoes rubbing them off.

Trending Summer Sandals Are Up to 70% Off at Amazon—Shop Our 59 Picks

School's out, temperatures are rising, and airports are busier than ever. Summer has officially arrived. If you've been putting off a warm weather closet refresh, you've already fallen behind. Luckily, Amazon is a one-stop shop for any last-minute wardrobe swaps and upgrades you still need to quickly make—and as it turns out, the retailer just cut prices on this summer's trendiest, most comfortable sandals. Curious to know which styles caught our eyes? Ahead, we dive into six of the biggest, most exciting summer sandal trends we've spotted this season. From deceptively-comfortable orthopedic flip-flops to wear-everywhere fisherman sandals, these summer shoe trends have earned a spot in our suitcases. Our 59 picks come from Crocs, Coach, Reef, Vionic, and more up to 70 percent off at Amazon now. While there are plenty of stellar sandal discounts on this list, a select handful of deals really made our jaws drop. The below trending sandals have the best, most impressive discounts out—which means they likely won't be in stock much longer. Keep scrolling to see which deals were a step above the rest, including chunky Ugg Goldenstar Hi-Slide Sandals, now over $50 off, and these Sam Edelman Dawn Ankle Buckle Sandals are 70 percent off. Then, keep scrolling to explore 53 more of our favorite trending summer sandals on sale at Amazon, starting at $19. This first trend can take your footwear rotation to new heights—sans pain and the awkwardness of high heels. Flatform sandals—that is, platform sandals that have flat bottoms—are a bold, fun way to spice up a twirly sundress or your favorite denim cutoffs, and Amazon is flush with options for every preference. The retro-inspired crochet Hey Dude Delray Buckle Sandals, $44, would look gorgeous with a pair of flare jeans, and these chunky Rihero Buckle Flatform Sandal, $25 off, are a warm weather solution for those who dress on the edgier side. Ahoy! The next trending summer sandal style on our list is nautical by nature, but you don't have to own a boat to jump on this bandwagon. Fisherman sandals are making waves this season. The versatile silhouette suits any aesthetic and can easily be dressed up or down, making them a no-fuss travel sandal. Comfy versions from some of our favorite footwear brands—including Sorel, Dr. Scholl's, and Sam Edelman—are seriously discounted at Amazon this month. Check out some of our favorite finds below, from $29. Dr. Scholl's Women's Rate Up Day Fisherman Sandal, $44 (originally $100) Dr. Martens Women's Blaire Fisherman Platform Sandal, $65 (originally $110) Lucky Brand Women's Zilma Heeled Fisherman Sandal, $48 (originally $89) Rockport Men's Darwyn Fishermen Sandal, $55 (originally $95) Sorel Women's Ona Streetworks Fisherman Mid Sandal, $75 (originally $130) Blowfish Malibu Women's Madrid Fisherman Sandal, $29 (originally $60) Clarks Men's Walkford Fish Flat Sandal, $55 (originally $90) Easy Spirit Women's Gretty Faux Leather Fisherman Sandal, $50 (originally $89) Dr. Scholl's Women's Hello Seaside Fisherman Sandal, $40 (originally $80) Sam Edelman Women's Dawn Ankle Buckle Sandal, $42 (originally $140) Dockers Men's Searose Fisherman Sandal, $34 (originally $70) Step aside, flip-flops: Strappy sandals are our new beach go-tos. Surf and sand can make it easy to slip out of thong-style sandals, but strappy sandals do a better job at keeping your feet in place. You may have seen the Crocs Miami Toe Loop Strappy Sandals pop up on your social media feeds; while not on sale, these now-viral strappy sandals are comfy, simple, and go with just about everything. Amazon has hundreds of other budget-friendly options worth checking out, though, including Plaka Lagoon Strappy Rope Sandals, now $28, and Teva Olowahu Strappy Sandals, now $26. Wedge-style sandals are hardly a new summer shoe trend, but this year, we've been spotting more and more wedges of the espadrille-specific variety. Espadrille wedges, which typically have canvas uppers and thick midsoles covered with jute rope, add a beachy touch to travel dresses and matching sets, making them one of our favorite dressy sandal trends this summer. Score designer Coach Espadrille Wedge Platform Sandals while they're $70 off, or scoop up LifeStride Kimmie Wedge Espadrille Sandals while they're as low as $35—a generous 56 percent off the original price. Coach Women's Espadrille Wedge Platform Sandal, $105 (originally $175) Lifestride Women's Katrina 2 Espadrille Wedge, $50 (originally $80) Soda Topic Ankle-Strap Espadrille Wedge Sandal, $30 (originally $40) Naturalizer Women's Wren Espadrille Wedge Sandal, $70 (originally $90) White Mountain Women's Mamba Espadrille Wedge Sandal, $37 (originally $79) Lucky Brand Women's Mindra Espadrille Wedge Sandal, $63 (originally $79) Franco Sarto Women's Clemens Espadrille Wedge Sandal, $78 (originally $115) Dream Pairs Women's Ankle-Strap Espadrille Wedge, $23 (originally $40) LifeStride Women's Kimmie Wedge Espadrille Sandal, $35 (originally $80) The Drop Women's Zuki Wedge Espadrille Sandal, $45 (originally $65) Another sandal trend that's been gracing our social media feeds is the laser-cut leather flat sandal. Two of the most iconic iterations include the Hermès Oran sandal, $840, and the Tory Burch Miller sandal, $198—but Amazon has hundreds of designer-inspired styles for a fraction of the price. These Artrotter Beach Sandals, for example, capture the same simple elegance of the aforementioned Oran sandal, but are just $18. We think these Tommy Hilfiger Litzy Flat Sandals, 40 percent off, are just as chic as the Tory Burch version. Artrotter Women's Beach Sandal, $18 (originally $46) Steve Madden Women's Hadyn Sandal, $49 (originally $60) Athlefit Women's Flat Sandal, $24 (originally $40) Rockport Men's Darwyn Xband Slide Sandal, $40 (originally $80) Coutgo Women's Dressy Slide Sandal, $39 (originally $46) Tommy Hilfiger Women's Litzy Flat Sandal, $39 (originally $65) Putu Women's Flat Sandal, $20 (originally $30) Calvin Klein Men's Lusako Sandal, $43 (originally $65) The Drop Women's Monika Flat H-Band Slide Sandal, $20 (originally $40) Dream Pairs Women's Dressy Flat Slide, $21 (originally $30) Cole Haan Women's Flynn Logo Slide Sandal, $70 (originally $90) Who says comfortable sandals can't also be chic? Trends come and go, but supportive footwear never goes out of style; and this summer, we're spotting fashion-forward orthopedic sandals that look as good as they'll feel. The flexible, shock-absorbing Vionic Women's Mar Sandals, previously $135, are a steal at $68. And you'd never guess these handsome men's criss-cross slides from FitFlop, 34 percent off, are orthopedic shoes—but they've received the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) Seal of Acceptance. That's just the beginning, though. Keep scrolling for more stylish orthopedic sandals, starting at $26. Love a great deal? Aimé Leon Dore Teases Two New Balance 860v2s

Summary Aimé Leon Doreis no stranger toNew Balance'sexpansive arsenal of sneakers. The two have worked closely together for years now and recently saw ALD become the first New Balance brand partner to craft its own silhouette in collaboration with the brand, introducing theRC56. While ALD continues the rollout of its Spring/Summer 2025 collection, it has just teased what's next from the two. Included in ALD's latest lookbook preview is a first look at two takes on theNew Balance 860v2. This marks the fourth time that the duo has assembled a range of collaborative colorways since 2023. While the visuals are limited to one on-foot angle per shoe, a reasonable amount of detail is showcased. The first pair combines a pink base with glistening silver overlays and a touch of white at the forefoot of the midsole. As for the second colorway, it begins with a black upper that hosts orange and green notes at the upper and midsole respectively. ALD branding is also spotted at the uppermost portion of the tongue. At the time of writing, neither Aimé Leon Dore nor New Balance have indicated when their two latest takes on the 860v2 sneaker will be arriving on shelves, with ALD merely stating that it is 'coming soon.' Stay tuned for updates, including a complete look at each pair, as we currently expect both to drop later this year via Aimé Leon Dore around its typical price point of $150 USD.
