New beauty products that will give your skin a a glazed look
Glazed skin – very hydrated skin that looks smooth, shiny, glowy and glassy – has been hugely popular since 2022, and all manner of products like facial oils, clear lip glosses and even Vaseline have been used to achieve the look temporarily. But now we're seeing products come through that have been developed and marketed specifically to give a glazed appearance.

Hailey Bieber's Rhode brand is really very good across the board, but her most viral product, Glazing Milk (£32) – a beautiful, ceramide-rich skincare essence designed to be sandwiched between cleansed skin and serum – went stratospheric after she appeared in a TikTok video mixing it with her Dior foundation to give the latter a lighter, glassy finish.
I've tried this myself with the exact same products and it works well – coverage is lighter and skin looks almost laminated. Though a similar effect can be achieved for less money by using a dewy finish tinted moisturiser such as NYX Buttermilk Glaze Soft Glow Skin Tint SPF30 (£13.99, very little coverage) or MAC Strobe Dewy Skin Tint (more coverage, no sunscreen, £32). As someone who mostly applies makeup on the move, I tend to confine Glazing Milk to my skincare routine, but if you like to keep your product count low, its versatility will be welcome.
For £35, Charlotte Tilbury's Unreal Skin Sheer Glow Tint Hydrating Foundation Stick (try saying that after downing three shots) is the glassiest finish base on the market, but while I love it (as do most of the fortysomethings I know), it is divisive.
The clue really is in the name: skin looks so dewy, glowy and glazed as to be slightly implausible. You'd be forgiven for assuming the very light coverage would appear natural, but the glowy, pearlescent particles compensate for that and the overall effect on skin is of having benefitted from makeup. Which I don't mind, but if you'd like something more real-looking, Urban Decay's excellent new Face Bond Luminizer (£38) underneath your usual base will not only extend the wear of your makeup, but also provide a glazy, pearlescent glow that peeks through anything worn on top.
It's particularly good for oily skins that may struggle to keep hold of anything glowy and have a tendency to make shiny products look greasy. This strikes just the right balance.
If in doubt, check the ingredient list of any complexion product you're considering. Generally, the higher up it features glycerin or diglycerol, the more glazy the finish.

Why Ireland is turning to tarot card readings on Tiktok
Once confined to crystal shops and niche spiritual circles, tarot reading has found an unexpected revival on TikTok, with some users now offering private online readings for up to €185. The origin of tarot cards traces back to 15th-century northern Italy when they were used as part of a card game called 'trionfi' (triumphs), but they didn't gain popularity in Ireland and the UK as a tool for fortune-telling until the late 1800s. In Ireland, tarot cards have long been considered taboo and overshadowed by Catholic cultural norms, but younger generations have begun to embrace them for wellness and mental health purposes, as well as a shift away from religion. Videos of tarot readings on TikTok have racked up 5.4 billion views, with the hashtags 'Tarot Tok' and 'Irish tarot lady' trending.

Duffy eyeing up return with 'new music' after terrifying kidnap and rape plot
Noughties star, Duffy, is preparing to step back into the spotlight after she quit fame when she was tragically raped and kidnapped in a harrowing ordeal, which she first revealed in 2020 Welsh songstress Duffy is making a comeback, according to reports, following the Mercy star's harrowing kidnap ordeal. The beloved hitmaker, 40, amassed a legion of loyal fans in the noughties, however Duffy ended up shunning the spotlight after she was heartbreakingly abducted and raped, which she first publicly revealed in 2020. The singer has kept a low profile for almost a decade following the terrifying attack, which she claimed happened over a four week period after she was drugged at a restaurant before being kidnapped, taken abroad and raped, and then flown to the UK where she was held captive in her own home However, in March, Duffy made a surprise appearance on TikTok, lip-syncing to her hit track, Mercy. It's now been reported that the star is back in the recording studio as she gets set to make her long-awaited return to music. The Warwick Avenue songstress is said to have reunited with ex-Suede musician Bernard Butler, who was the producer of her debut album in 2008. A source told The Sun On Sunday: "The time is right for her to make a comeback, she has done enough healing and is ready to make music. She has a great working relationship with Bernard, and they trust each other." Duffy disappeared from the limelight after her harrowing kidnap ordeal in which she explained she had been raped, drugged and held captive following her rise to stardom, which saw her bag a Grammy Award in 2009. In the TikTok video from March, the star, whose real name is Aimée Anne Duffy, sang along to her famous lyrics: "You got me begging you for mercy, why won't you release me." She was sporting her infamous baby blonde hair in the clip posted on Emotion HQ's TikTok account, which teased that a garage remix of her classic track will be released soon. The caption read: "Some of you asked if Duffy was really doing a UK Garage remix with us… #duffy #newmusic #ElectronicMusic #ukgarage #dancemusic #remix." Taking to the comments, excited to hear of the star's return, one of Duffy's fans replied: "'Duffy! Where have you been?! We missed you" while another exclaimed: "OMG it's so good that she's back." Duffy has been silent on social media for more than a year after she returned to share a positive post with fans in March 2024 for the first time since 2020. Giving her take on the 'secret to happiness', her quote read: "You're going to realise it one day - that happiness was never about your job or your degree or being in a relationship. "Happiness was never about following in the footsteps of all of those who came before you; it was never about being like the others. One day, you're going to see it - that happiness was always about the discovery, the hope, the listening to your heart and following it wherever it chose to go." The Mirror has contacted Duffy's reps for comment on this story.
