Holywell Museum team secure National Lottery Funding

Holywell Area Community Museum offers a number of groups to its community.
That includes mindful morning sessions (craft, knit and natter and jigsaws), bingo events and a writing course where guests can write their own story for loved ones with a trained tutor.
They also host quiz nights and historic walks through the town.
Now their work is set to continue after volunteers managed to secure £19,956 of National Lottery Funding for the 'Your Place' project at the museum.
This will focus on providing guests with a safe space to spend time, meet friends old and new, get support and enjoy a cuppa and a chat.

The project has grown out of The Museum Community Café which is manned by volunteers.
Based entirely on ongoing community feedback, the Lottery funding is in place for two years and will ensure that The Museum can secure and build on its support work, developing and expanding its range of activities for the benefit of the community.
Cllr Matt Sprake, who was just recently elected Mayor of Holywell, hailed the museum as a 'vital hub' for Holywell, Greenfield and the surrounding communities.
Speaking as he handed over the cheque, he said: "This Museum is a place that not only tells the story of our past, but now continues to shape our future. Today, we celebrate a real win for our community. It's not everyday you get to say you've won the lottery!
"Museums like this one preserve the past, but places like this will continue to do their bit for the present. We couldn't be prouder of the volunteers and everyone who made this happen."
Holywell Town Council added: "Thank you to everyone who has helped on the journey, past, present and future. Special thanks to Mayor Matt Sprake for presenting the cheque, Holywell town councillors, Wales and West Housing Association and Flintshire Local Voluntary Council for all their support and to the museum volunteers without whose help nothing would be accomplished."

Why playing EuroMillions now gives you the best chance of winning £14m jackpot

PLAYING the EuroMillions tonight gives you the best chance of bagging the £14million jackpot. A Lucky Irish ticket holder won the biggest ever prize of £208million this week and the jackpot has now reset. But it means those playing tonight have the best chance of winning the entire jackpot. This is because less people are likely to play because it's not a mega jackpot and that means any winnings could be split between a smaller group. A spokesperson for Allwyn, which runs the National Lottery, explained: "EuroMillions is designed to be a huge, rolling jackpot game. "So, we always have more people enter as the jackpot rises and excitement grows. "We also see more syndicates and groups playing the game as the jackpot climbs. "However, every draw, the odds of winning the jackpot remain the same no matter what the jackpot amount. "You could possibly argue that, if fewer people play, then you are potentially less likely to share the jackpot with other winners." The spokesperson added that, ultimately, any lottery is a game of chance and anything can happen, especially depending on what numbers are drawn and based on number combinations. Of course, always remember to only gamble with money you can afford to lose, and set a spending limit before you play. Visit or if you need help. If you do win the EuroMillions tonight, any prize must be claimed within 180 days of the draw date. Biggest ever EuroMillions jackpot A record £208million EuroMillions prize was scooped earlier this week, leaving the winner with an eye-watering pot of cash. The National Lottery EuroMillions winning numbers were: 13, 22, 23, 44, 49 and the Lucky Stars are: 03, 05. While one lucky person in Ireland won the jackpot, dozens of Brits also scooped prizes. There were three players who matched five numbers and one lucky star who will win a whopping £6.3m each. While 16 Brits won £16,119.10 by matching the five main numbers.

A MAMMOTH £208 million EuroMillions jackpot has been claimed after the winning ticket owner came forward. But the record prize has now finally been scooped by one lucky winner based in Ireland. The winning stub was sold in a retailer in County Cork, the Irish National Lottery said. The EuroMillions jackpot is capped once it reaches €250 million, around £205 million. No other information about the winner has been revealed. The winning numbers from the draw were 13, 22, 23, 44, 49 and Lucky Stars 3 and 5.
