
Edifier Launches NeoBuds Wireless Earbuds With Planar Magnetic Drivers

Premium audio brand Edifier has just announced the launch of its NeoBuds Planar wireless earbuds. These flagship wireless earbuds are equipped with high-end planar magnetic drivers and featuring an Advanced Noise Cancelation function.
The NeoBuds Planar earbuds are equipped with six high-sensitivity microphones and Qualcomm aptX Voice for clearer speech pickup when using the earbuds for phone calls or video conferencing. A full charge of the NeoBuds storage case can provide up to 30 hours of total playtime from the onboard rechargeable batteries.
Like many of today's wireless earbuds, the NeoBuds can be fully customizable using the updated Edifier ConneX app which provides access to smart functions like the automatic pausing and playing of music, which makes them suitable for work and leisure.
These new NeoBuds Planar earbuds have the distinctive angular design favored by Edifier.
The advanced planar magnetic drivers used in the earbuds have been designed to provide a uniform level of audio performance. The ANC feature cancels any unwanted sounds like aircraft noise, road rumble or the background hum of HVAC systems by using active noise cancellation, making them suitable for commuting or working in a busy office.
The diaphragm of the planar magnetic drivers used in these new earbuds is made from ultra-thin material that provides an excellent transient response. This translates into a more detailed and precise sound while the second-generation EqualMass wiring counterbalances any uneven distribution across the magnetic field, producing an equal weight distribution over the entire surface of the diaphragm, giving all parts the same level of momentum.
Symmetric supporting wiring in the planar magnetic drivers enhances the physical stability of the diaphragm even further, creating more controlled and precise movement. Dual magnet arrays on both sides of the diaphragm create double the driving force in a push-pull movement that Edifier says significantly improves the drivers' efficiency.

Edifier says it has gone to great lengths to ensure the drivers perform accurately. An auto-calibration process carried out during production of the drivers ensures they deliver a consistent and uniform level of audio performance.
The NeoBuds Planar earbuds are powered with Qualcomm's QCC5181 Bluetooth audio System-on-a-Chip which includes support for Qualcomm's advanced Snapdragon Sound Technology Suite. This relatively new technology produces a premium and immersive audio quality when used with host streaming devices that can support the Snapdragon platform.
These new earbuds are compatible with a wide range of Hi-Res Bluetooth audio codecs including aptX, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, Snapdragon Sound, LDAC, LHDC and AAC.
The NeoBuds Planar can be charged via USB-C or wirelessly with a Qi-compatible charging mat.
Few wireless earbuds these days comes without ANC and the Edifier NeoBuds Planar use Qualcomm's third-generation Hybrid Adaptive Noise Cancellation technology, which can dynamically adjust the ANC levels based on an advanced sampling of the surrounding ambient noise. Each of the Neobud earpieces includes three high-sensitivity microphones for optimal multi-mode audio pickup. Thanks to Qualcomm's aptX Voice technology, the earbuds can clearly pick up speech for hands-free phone calls and video conferencing, even in noisy conditions or when calling out of doors.

The NeoBuds have an IP55 rating, making them suitable for active and outdoor use like sports or walking in the rain. The ConneX app also has a setting for choosing eight LED color options for the earbuds, offering a personal touch to their appearance. Each earpiece also has press controls that prevent the unintentional triggering often experienced with touch controls.

Magnificent 7 May Need to Make Room for Broadcom
Broadcom joined the trillion-dollar club late last year, and its market value has continued to climb since. The software and chip company has been riding the AI wave as companies like Alphabet and Meta place orders for its custom AI chips. The tech giant's stock doubled in each of the past two years, climbing more than 350% from the start of 2023 to yesterday's close. With a $1.2 trillion market cap, Broadcom is the S&P 500's seventh-most-valuable company, worth more than either Walmart or Berkshire Hathaway. Broadcom's skyrocketing value has some Wall Streeters wondering whether it's time for a shakeup of the Magnificent Seven, which currently includes Alphabet, Amazon, Apple, Meta, Microsoft, Nvidia and Tesla. Broadcom reported earnings earlier this month that topped analysts' estimates after raking in $15 billion in revenue in its most recent quarter. Nvidia is the only company in the Magnificent Seven whose sales growth surpasses Broadcom's. In contrast, Tesla's revenue has contracted 1% this year, and its shares have tanked. The automaker's market cap is just above the $1 trillion mark. Four of the companies in the Magnificent Seven have seen their shares fall this year. Meanwhile, Broadcom's business is booming, especially its AI arm: Broadcom has a sprawling empire of technology that ranges from Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chips to cybersecurity software, but its custom AI chips now make up nearly a third of its revenue. The tech company made $4.4 billion of its revenue from AI in the second quarter (a 60% annual uptick) and expects $5.1 billion next quarter as cloud providers like Alphabet place more orders. The company predicts AI growth will continue next year. Name Games: The Magnificent Seven is a way of grouping together some of the S&P 500's most influential companies, similar to its predecessor FAANG (made up of Facebook, Amazon, Apple, Netflix, and Google before Facebook and Google changed their names). But some experts say the purpose of these groupings is to track trends, not just the most valuable companies. If the trend investors are eyeing now is AI, then swapping Tesla out for Broadcom may not make sense since Tesla is also leveraging AI (for robotaxis and humanoid robots).
