Qatar condemns ongoing Israeli strikes on Iran, urges de-escalation
Qatar's Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani held talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on the sidelines of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) summit.
During the meeting, Sheikh Mohammed condemned the ongoing Israeli military action, which he referred to as 'continued Israeli aggression against the territory of the sisterly Republic of Iran'.
Qatar's Foreign Ministry described the strikes as a 'flagrant violation of Iran's sovereignty and security, and a clear breach of the principles of international law'.
The Qatari leader also underlined the urgent need to 'de-escalate tensions and resolve disputes' through diplomatic means.

An Israeli army spokesperson said Israeli jets carried out dozens of strikes against Iran on Sunday. US orders Lebanon evacuation amid regional tensions
The United States has ordered non-essential staff and families of diplomats to leave Lebanon, citing security concerns after Washington carried out strikes on Iranian nuclear sites. A statement posted by the US embassy in Beirut said the decision was made due to 'the volatile and unpredictable security situation in the region'. 'On June 22, 2025, the US Department of State ordered the departure of family members and non-emergency U.S. government personnel from Lebanon,' the embassy said. The US State Department has already classified Lebanon under its highest travel warning — 'do not travel' — urging American citizens to avoid the country entirely.
