‘Ain't nobody calling him that': Kanye changes name again

Perth Now11-06-2025

Kanye West has changed his name for a second time, months after declaring he is done with antisemitism and previously expressing controversial admiration for Adolf Hitler.
Previously, West's business filings listed him as 'Ye West.' Now, all his businesses, including Yeezy Apparel, Yeezy Record Label, LLC, and Getting Out Our Dreams Inc, feature the new moniker under 'manager or member name.'
Page Six obtained new business documents in California revealing that the 'Gold Digger' rapper's chief financial officer, Hussain Lalani, filed paperwork under the name 'Ye Ye.'
Ye Ye has not publicly announced his new name on social media. Page Six reached out to West's representative for comment but did not immediately receive a response.
Some people weren't very excited by the news on X:

Earlier this month, the 24-time Grammy winner took to X to announce he would no longer use his birth name on the platform.
'Ima finally stop using the @kanyewest twitter cause my name is Ye,' he tweeted June 1. 'Gonna start a ye account and it is what it is.'
West, who legally changed his name to Ye in 2021, previously announced on X in 2018 that he would be known as Ye.
'The being formally known as Kanye West. I am YE,' he wrote at the time.
West used the name Ye as the title of his 2018 album, recorded at his ranch in Jackson Hole, Wyo. Three years later, he legally changed his moniker for 'personal reasons,' according to documents.
In March 2024, West's chief of staff, Milo Yiannopoulos, demanded in a letter that West be referred to as Ye and not his 'slave name.'
'Ye is one of the most recognisable people in the world, on par with presidents and popes,' the letter obtained by Page Six read. 'He didn't take the decision to change his name, potentially sacrificing some of the immense value captured by the brand of 'Kanye West,' lightly. The change was made fully, legally, and permanently. This is who he is now. His name is Ye.' 'He has on several occasions referred to it as his slave name,' the letter continued. 'Ye is a black man in America who wants the right to full self-determination just like everyone else.'
Yiannopoulos called on streaming platforms, publishers, stores, unions, lyrics websites, and data resellers to update their records accordingly.

Hailey Bieber ditches her wedding ring as Justin Bieber divorce rumours loom

Don't miss out on the headlines from Hook Ups & Break Ups. Followed categories will be added to My News. Hailey Bieber fuelled rumours that she and husband Justin Bieber are headed for divorce after she was spotted without her wedding ring while out and about in New York City. The model was photographed going ring-less on Thursday as she stepped out on two separate occasions — the first being for breakfast at The Commerce Inn in the West Village. Photos obtained by Page Six reveal she wore a khaki trench coat and sunglasses for the outing, but made sure to leave her $US500,000 jewellery piece at home. Hailey Bieber and Justin Bieber have sparked rumours they're headed for a split. Picture: MEGA/GC Images Hailey, 28, was later seen that evening with models Camila Morrone and Suki Waterhouse as they headed for a girls' night out at Chez Fifi on the Upper East Side. For her second look, the billionaire babe looked chic in a black leather coat and matching high-neck top with wide-leg jeans. A rep for Hailey did not immediately respond to Page Six's request for comment. Divorce rumours have followed the couple for some time. However, the speculation appeared to be reignited earlier this year after Hailey unfollowed Justin, 31, on Instagram in March. Hailey and Justin have been engulfed by rumours of trouble in paradise. Hailey and Justin welcomed a son, Jack, last year. The Rhode Skin founder claimed the unfollowing happened because of a glitch that took place when Justin deactivated and reactivated his account. Hailey addressed the incessant divorce speculation that has plagued the famous pair since their 2018 wedding in her Vogue interview last month, calling out 'bitches' who won't 'move on.' 'Well, I thought seven years in it would've [died down] already, and it hasn't,' she said. 'You would think after having a child, people would maybe move on, chill out a little bit, but no,' the first-time mom, who welcomed son Jack Blues with Justin last August, added. 'So I guess these bitches are going to be mad.' The couple also continues to face added scrutiny as many have expressed their concern for the 'Beauty and a Beat' singer's wellbeing after he was seen acting erratically and recreationally smoking marijuana on several occasions. In April, a source confirmed to Page Six that Justin is 'going through a hard time' and that Hailey was worried for him. 'Hailey is doing her best to be there for him, but there's only so much she can do,' the source said at the time. 'Hailey loves Justin with all her heart, but that doesn't necessarily mean she's happy.' Anne Burrell's loved ones gathered at private wake after death

Anne Burrell's loved ones have gathered at a private wake on New York City's Upper East Side. The 55‑year‑old celebrity chef known for Worst Cooks in America and Secrets of a Restaurant Chef, was found "unconscious and unresponsive" in her Brooklyn home on Tuesday (17.06.25) morning, reportedly surrounded by up to 100 pills. It emerged on Saturday (21.06.25) the wake took place the day before at the Frank E Campbell Funeral Home, and was attended by over 100 guests, including her husband Stuart Claxton, celebrity chefs Scott Conant, Amanda Freitag and Marc Murphy, as well as television personalities Kelly Bensimon and Carson Kressley. A source told Page Six about the event: 'The mood was somber, though friends whispered… that Anne would want them to be smiling and laughing'. It's been reported a New York City Fire Department spokesperson reported the 911 caller believed she had suffered cardiac arrest. Stuart is though to have found Anne on the shower floor earlier this week, having last seen her alive at about 1 am, with emergency responders pronouncing her dead at the scene. Despite the location and presence of pills, authorities have not ruled out foul play but say it is "premature to speculate" about their role in her death. Anne's family released a statement saying: 'Anne's light radiated far beyond those she knew, touching millions across the world… her warmth, spirit, and boundless love remain eternal'. Iron Chef America host Duff Goldman, 50, reflected on his 20‑year friendship with Anne, describing it as 'complex' and recalling a recent reunion at a charity gala that 'left (his) heart lifted and full of light'. Anne, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, built a high‑profile career on the Food Network with appearances on Iron Chef America, Chopped, Chef Wanted, and her shows Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and Worst Cooks in America. Her improvisation performance at The Second City in Brooklyn the night before her death surprised friends who said she was 'in great spirits'. Along with her husband Stuart, who she married in October 2021, she is also survived by his 20‑year‑old son Javier, her mother Marlene, sister Jane and brother Ben. Investigations by the NYPD and medical examiner's office continue, with toxicology results still pending as the cause of death remains undetermined.

Anne Burrell's death ‘under investigation by police as possible drugs overdose'

Anne Burrell's death is said to be under investigation by police as a possible drugs overdose. The Food Network TV chef, 55, was found unconscious and unresponsive in her Brooklyn apartment surrounded by approximately 100 pills, according to the New York Times, with her body discovered in the bathroom of the home she shared with her husband, Stuart Claxton, in the early hours of Tuesday (17.06.25) morning. According to NYPD documents seen by The New York Times, Anne was found 'in the shower unconscious and unresponsive surrounded by approximately (100) assorted pills'. And on Saturday (21.06.25), Page Six said police are now probing her death as a potential drugs overdose. The outlet reported: 'Anne Burrell's death is being investigated by the New York City Police Department as a possible drug overdose, Page Six can confirm.' Emergency responders pronounced the chef dead at the scene. A spokeswoman for the New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirmed an autopsy has been completed, but that the cause and manner of death are still pending further toxicology tests. Stuart, 54, reportedly told police that he had last seen Anne alive around 1am before finding her unresponsive six to seven hours later. An emergency crews attempted CPR but were unable to resuscitate her. Anne had performed at an improvisational comedy show just hours before her death and had recently begun taking acting classes. In a podcast interview earlier this year with actor Tori Spelling, 52, she said: 'I just started taking acting classes. I started yesterday, actually… it's like an improv for actors' class. I got there and it's like eight people in the class. I'm the oldest one. Every other person has like, 'Oh, I have a master's in fine arts in theater.'' She added: 'I'm like, 'okay, I've never taken an acting class. I don't know, this is new to me.' I wonder if these delightful and super talented kids look at me and they're like, 'What's this old lady doing here?'' Anne had stepped away from her role on Worst Cooks in America after season 28, which left many fans puzzled. When asked about the decision by Spelling, she said: 'I can cook, yes, I can do TV, but also, what else? I've got more to do in my life, I feel like.' Anne married Stuart in October 2021 in her hometown of Cazenovia, New York. In an interview with the Daily Mail in April, she described married life as 'so easy' and said: 'October will be four years. It seems like it's been four minutes. I don't know if it's a honeymoon [phase], but I feel like it's settled into married life days which I really enjoy.' She also joked about joining Meghan Markle's Netflix series: 'Sure, of course. I'd go to the opening of an envelope. Why not cook with Meghan?' Anne was best known as host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and co-host of Worst Cooks in America, which ran for 28 seasons. She also appeared on Chef Wanted, Chopped, Food Network Star, and most recently, House of Knives, which premiered in March. Born in Cazenovia in 1969, Anne studied English and communications at Canisius College before graduating from the Culinary Institute of America in 1996. She went on to work at acclaimed New York restaurants including Felidia and Savoy. She published two cookbooks – Cook Like a Rock Star and Own Your Kitchen – and was admired for her bold culinary style and distinctive platinum hair. Along with her husband, Anne is survived by her mother Marlene, sister Jane, brother Ben, and stepchildren Isabella, Amelia and Nicolas.
