MAD World oversees the film's international sales, while MAD Distribution manages its distribution across the MENA region.
Following its world premiere at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival, where it earned two Special Mentions in the Generation 14plus section, Têtes brûlées is set to continue its festival circuit with upcoming screenings at the D'A Barcelona Film Festival.
The film's director, Maja Ajmia Zellama, will participate in Q&A sessions after the screenings on March 28 at 5:15 PM and March 29 at 7:35 PM at Aribau 4, offering audiences deeper insight into her creative process and storytelling approach.
A Belgian production infused with Tunisian influences, Têtes brûlées is a coming-of-age drama centred on 12-year-old Eya, who struggles to cope with the sudden loss of her older brother Younès. Bound by an unbreakable connection, Eya finds herself navigating a structured and emotional grieving process, leaning on her creativity, resilience, and Younès' close friends to make sense of her loss and move forward.
At Berlinale, the film was recognised with two Special Mentions—one from the official Generation 14plus jury and another from the Independent Jury of the AG Kino – Gilde – Cinema Vision 14plus. These accolades further solidified its status as one of the festival's standout films.
The Generation 14plus jury praised Têtes brûlées as 'a remarkable debut that provides a rare glimpse into a world of solidarity and love through the eyes of a young girl. With visually fresh imagery and heartfelt storytelling, it captures the complexity of grief and its transformative power. A bold yet delicate film, it highlights the strength found in unity during difficult times.'
The film has also garnered critical acclaim, with Aurore Engelen of Cineuropa describing it as 'a film of few words but many gestures—hands reaching out, arms embracing and consoling.' She commended Zellama's sensitive direction, noting her ability to 'capture both the strength and fragility of these moments.'
Written and directed by Belgian-Tunisian-Danish filmmaker Maja Ajmia Zellama, Têtes brûlées is produced by Komoko, with co-productions by Quetzalcoatl and 1080 Films. Zellama, a graduate of the LUCA School of Arts, is also the co-founder and president of ASBL Bledarte, a Brussels-based organisation dedicated to empowering immigrant youth through art and culture.
The film's production team includes producers Marc Goyens and Nabil Ben Yadir, cinematographer Grimm Vandekerckhove, editor Dieter Diependaele, production designer Eve Martin, casting director Marie McCourt, and sound designer David Vranken. Têtes brûlées is represented for international sales by MAD World, while MAD Distribution is overseeing its release across the MENA region.
The film features Safa Gharbaoui, Mehdi Bouziane, Mounir Amamra (DIVINES), Adnane El Haruati, Saber Tabi, Nicolas Makola, Mehdi Zellama and Monia Taieb.

Spoon, snap, repeat: top Instagrammable desserts in Dubai

Dubai doesn't do basic and that includes dessert. These desserts are here to slay your stories, ice cream too pretty to eat (but trust us, you'll want to), cakes with main character energy, and sweets so extra they deserve their own spotlight. Taste? Impeccable. Pics? Mandatory. Because let's be honest it's all about the 'gram. Matilda Cake at Parkers Parkers brings the most iconic movie dessert to life with their viral Matilda Cake, a giant, fudgy slice straight out of the film. It's rich, gooey, and absolutely drowning in glossy chocolate ganache. One bite and you're Bruce Bogtrotter living the dream, but let's be honest, it's the ganache pour that steals the show. Slow-mo it, zoom in, add dramatic music, this one's made for your feed and not just your story. Insta tip: Capture a boomerang as you lift the holder, that first reveal moment when the hot ganache starts to drip is pure gold. Time it right and let the chocolate flow steal the spotlight. ‘The Wound' set for Moroccan premiere at Casablanca Arab Film Festival

The film will also be released in theaters across Morocco shortly after its Casablanca premiere. After a successful international festival run, The Wound, the debut feature from Moroccan filmmaker Seloua El Gouni, is set to make its national premiere at the Casablanca Arab Film Festival, which runs until June 20. Following screenings at platforms such as Cannes, Beirut and Athens, the Casablanca showing marks a symbolic return home for the acclaimed drama. Shortly after its Moroccan premiere, The Wound will be released in theatres across the country, allowing local audiences to experience what has become one of the most discussed Moroccan films of the year. The film continues its international momentum, having been selected for the Official Competition at the Mediterranean Film Festival in Malta, which runs from June 21 to 29. The Wound centres on Leila, a young Moroccan woman entering adulthood and the workforce, as she attempts to forge her path while grappling with societal expectations and the limitations placed on women. Through her story, the film delves into themes of identity, gender roles, and the tension between tradition and modernity in Morocco. Director Seloua El Gouni describes the film as a journey through the intersection of cultural heritage and the search for personal autonomy, set in a society where the voices of tradition often challenge those of individualism. The film recently held its Arab World premiere at the Beirut International Women's Film Festival and previously earned the Best First Feature Award at the Athens International Art Film Festival. It has also screened at several international events, including the Bridges International Film Festival, the Women and World International Film Festival in the UK, the Scandinavian International Film Festival in Finland, and the Lift-Off Sessions for New Directors in the UK, where it won the Audience Choice Award. Produced by El Gouni and Taha Benghalem, who co-wrote the script with Brice and Brian Baxter, The Wound features performances from Oumaima Barid, Amal Ayouch, Mansour Badri, Brice Bexter, Soraya Azzabi, Abdelhak Saleh and Sami Fekkak, with cinematography by Travis Tips. International sales are managed by MAD World. El Gouni, who previously worked on Hollywood productions such as Men in Black: International and A Hologram for the King, marks her transition into directing with The Wound — an exploration of female agency and cultural identity in contemporary Morocco.
