Barbie Hsu's widower DJ Koo rumoured to be shopping for new home closer to her grave

TAIPEI, June 21 — DJ Koo, widower of the late Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu Shi-yuan, is said to be looking for real estate near Jinbo Mountain in Taiwan. Koo, 55, whose full name is Koo Jun-yup, is currently residing in downtown Taipei but has been seen looking at newly-built properties in the area for the past two months according to Chosun Biz, citing Taiwanese media reports. The reason is likely so he can be nearer his deceased wife's grave near Jinbo Mountain. A real-estate agency that had purportedly been dealing with Koo refused comment while Hsu's mother said the supposed decision by her son-in-law was news to her. She did however say, 'Koo Jun-yup truly loved Shieh Yi-yuan.' The couple had met in the late 90s and were briefly involved, but after decades apart, rekindled their love affair and married in February 2022. Hsu tragically passed away from acute pneumonia while on a holiday in Japan this February not long before what would have been the pair's third wedding anniversary.

Former Japanese AV actress Asuka Kirara denies allegations about her interactions with former The Boyz member Ju Haknyeon

TOKYO, June 21 – Influencer and former AV actress Asuka Kirara posted on social media regarding her being mentioned as part of a scandal that has ended up in the K-pop singer Ju Haknyeon being kicked out of his group The Boyz. Kirara posted on X in Japanese on what she called 'baseless speculations' and asked the public to 'not spread false information.' She also denied having ever accepted money for private sexual services, including her encounter with Ju. The influencer claimed that a woman she met at the time, who she inferred to have a crush on Ju, had taken the photos and sold them to Japanese news outlet Shūkan Bunshu. Pictures surfaced online of Ju and Kirara at a private bar in Tokyo on May 29 with some media outlets claiming that Ju had paid the actress for sexual favours. Ju's label One Hundred then announced his departure from the group and the label to which the singer responded online, claiming that the label's dropping of him was a breach of contract and he also pointedly denied the swirling online allegations that he had paid for sex with Kirara. One Hundred replied to his statement with one of its own calling the singer's claims false. In the statement, the agency stated: 'We initially decided to suspend Ju Haknyeon's activities after recognising that the matter at hand could cause significant harm to the group's activities. After we thoroughly reviewed the situation, we made him fully aware that the incident constituted grounds for contract termination under Article 6, Clause 3 of his exclusive contract, which refers to 'conduct that damages the dignity of an artist to the extent that it interferes with entertainment activities.' We then made the decision accordingly.'

Suga completes military service, ARMY rejoices: BTS now officially seven again

SEOUL, June 21 — K-pop group BTS member Suga was discharged from the South Korean military today, the seventh and final member to complete the country's mandatory national service amid expectations of the band's comeback from a hiatus. Suga finished his military tenure as a social service agent today with little fanfare as fans looked forward to his reunion with the rest of the band, a K-pop sensation since it started up in 2013. 'We confirm that Suga effectively completed his alternative service on June 18 by using his remaining leave. His official discharge date is June 21,' BTS' label, Big Hit Music, said in a statement. Unlike with his BTS bandmates, there was no public event planned to mark Suga's release because of overcrowding concerns. The seven members of the group put their global music careers on hold in 2022 to begin their military service, starting with Jin in December that year. South Korea's mandatory national service can be for terms of up to 18 months. Shortly after his official discharge, Suga posted a message on fan community platform Weverse, saying he was 'sorry for the disappointment and concern caused by what happened last year', and also apologising to his bandmates. Last year, Suga was fined 15 million won (RM49,000) by a court for drunk driving while on an electric scooter. The group is expected to hold its largest-ever world tour in 2026, an NH Securities entertainment analyst said in a report. Entertainment group HYBE which manages BTS, is closely monitored by securities companies. Details of a reunion have not been released. — Reuters
