39 Pairs Of Sandals So Good, You Should Know About Them
On-trend and comfortable heeled mules that come in a stunning range of styles, from quilted, suede, and mesh to satin, metallic, animal prints, and more. What I'm saying is you miiiight be tempted to come back for more than one pair, and I can't blame you.
Quick-drying Teva sandals, aka the stuff of dreams when it comes to a reliable, long-lasting pair of outdoor sandals — they have a rugged sole, making them ideal for light hikes, festivals, and everyday wear. Plus, they come in a bunch of cute designs, and water won't bother them one bit!
Braided Plaka sandals for a cool boho look you can easily dress up or down, taking them from the beach to a nice dinner (aka perfect for travel). The braided straps might look a tad scary, like they'd rub uncomfortably after a few hours, but they're soft, adjustable, and hold your feet securely without friction. And they come in the most gorgeous colors!
Sorel Kinetic sandals channeling fun, sporty sneaker vibes while giving you all the breathability and style of a good sandal. Their cushioned bouncy footbed is designed to keep you comfortable all day, even when the day's schedule doesn't allow much time for sitting breaks.
Nostalgic jelly shoes that'll make you feel like a kid again — and from a practical perspective, they'll dry super quickly if you get caught in a rainstorm or want to rock them by the pool or beach.
Some Skechers sport sandals for hikes and other outdoor activities, with lightweight responsive cushioning, adjustable straps, and a high-rebound insole that makes these feel like a *dream* when you're on your feet all day. I mean, reviewers absolutely rave about how good these feel, even after you've logged many hours and miles in them.
And Skechers rhinestone slingbacks that add a little bit of ~bling~ to elevate any outfit. Underneath the sparkles is a cushioned yoga foam footbed that's ultra-soft on your feet. The elastic back heel strap keeps them securely on — a great feature if you've ever accidentally launched a flip-flop across a room (it's happened to me...more than once).
Also: The cutest Skechers cork wedges you'd probably never guess are as comfortable as they are stylish! They're lightweight with a supportive cushioned footbed, and multiple reviewers say they're like wearing sneakers (I mean, leave it to Skechers to create the best of both worlds). They'll look fab with everything from jeans to sundresses!
Soda flatform espadrilles to ~elevate~ your wardrobe without unraveling and falling apart on you. Not only are they a super cute option for denim, dresses, and everything in between; they're also ultra comfy according to reviewers.
Or some slip-on platform wedges that can be the chic finishing touch to all your warm-weather outfits, whether you're rocking jean shorts, a lil' romper, or a maxi dress. Despite the extra height, reviewers say they're surprisingly comfy to walk around in (one even did the limbo in them)!
Colorful huaraches sporting an adorable floral pattern that'll make you feel like you're walking around with literal art on your feet — because you basically are. Handmade in Mexico with 100% natural leather, these vibrant huaraches will stretch with use and mold to your feet over time. They're also close-toed, in case you're overdue for your next pedi and would prefer to keep those grippers out of sight for now.
Or handmade huaraches with a wide braided strap available in plain brown or black or in striking checkered patterns, bringing a vintage-y vibe to your look. Reviewers praise their craftsmanship and confirm that they're wide feet–friendly!
Strappy chunky heels that'll keep you supported and comfortable minus the dreaded break-in period (and at a budget-friendly price), perfect for the office, brunch dates, and more. Oh, and they come in a ton of fun shades if you like to have a pop of color on your feet.
Or a flat braided pair if you're allergic to heels, or just need a chic option that's easy to slip on and off! These faux leather mules have a high-end look but are *extremely* affordable — one reviewer said they even prefer these over their Steve Madden pair.
Cushionaire slides made to fit your feet like a glove thanks to the flexible cork footbed and supportive, padded suede insole. They have over 59,000 5-star ratings, and over 1,200 reviews (!) draw comparisons between these and Birkenstocks, with many claiming they're just as comfortable for a fraction of the price.
And beyond-affordable double-buckle slides that honestly have no right being this cute for this cheap — and, yes, they're waterproof! If you want that thick-strap Birkenstock look without the high price tag, here ya go.
Or a stylish option with metallic details — like the slides above, the buckles here are *adjustable* so you can find your perfect fit (folks with wide feet, rejoice!). You might not want to go for a hike in them, but on the whole, reviewers are impressed by their quality at this price point!
Sporty hiking sandals with cool braided straps and a design centered around support. High arch support, adjustable straps (!) cushioned midsoles, and high-traction rubber outsoles keep you comfortable and upright even when you're dealing with wet or rocky terrain.
Or a pair with soft fabric straps if you don't love the braided look/feel — these are water-resistant, feature adjustable straps, and are designed to stabilize and support your arches and relieve pressure on your joints.
Versatile Toms sandals for a sleek option with a bit of height, perfect for cute brunches, fancy gardens, or nice dinners. The chunky heel makes them a much more comfy alternative to other types of heels, not to mention the thick straps that'll keep your feet secure.
Cushioned Reef two-strap sandals made of vegan leather, with a casual yet effortlessly stylish look and unmatched comfort in the form of a bouncy, supportive rubber sole. If feet could write a love song about a pair of shoes, these cute, versatile sandals would inspire Shakespearean sonnets.
And Reef flip-flops that put the rubbery kind to shame, cushioning your feet so you don't end up with aches and blisters after a day of strolling down the boardwalk. With padded straps, a cushioned EVA footbed, and rubber sponge outsole, Reefs are made to last year after year, and they do.
Or Sanuk Yoga Mat flip-flops covered in a base that's similar to the material on your trusty yoga mat, so you already *know* they can handle those humid, sweaty days — no slipping around, no blisters, just long-lasting comfort. Reviewers swear by these for travel, from beach days and Disneyland trips to treks all over Europe and Asia.
And Sanuk Yoga Slings, great if you like a little extra support in your sandals. They have the same yoga mat footbed, plus stretchy knit straps that hug your heel and ankle, so you never feel like they're going to fly off your feet.
Dr. Martens fisherman sandals to take the place of your clunky boots in the summer, giving you a bit of stylish lift and ~punk vibes~ while still keeping your feet breezy when it's hot out. This leather pair is one you can break out year after year.
J. Adams Corby platform sandals with a unique chunky style you'll want to pair with all your dresses and skirts on warm days — then keep wearing them with socks or tights in colder seasons. Despite the budget price, these sturdy sandals can handle heavy wear, and reviewers love them for work, travel, and everything in between.
Some Aerothotic faux leather sandals providing arch support your aching feet from summers past never thought possible. These cradle your feet with a memory foam insole, rounded heel cup, and raised toe bar, and the sweat-resistant footbed keeps your feet from sliding around (creating those god-awful blisters as a result).
Also from Aerothotic: Supportive flip-flops because yes, flip-flops can go hand-in-hand with comfort. Arch support, check. Soft straps, check. Cushy gel insoles and a sweat-resistant footbed? Check and check. They're so comfy and foot-friendly that you may find yourself wishing it was summer year-round just so you never have to wear another shoe.
Soft and squishy slide-on slippers that are basically cloud-like marshmallows for your feet. Yes, they're every bit as comfortable as that description implies, AND they come in the most delicious pastel shades. Though some just wear them as house slippers, others have packed them for vacation and walked miles in them!
Lightweight Charlotte Stone leather platforms if you embrace color in every part of your wardrobe, and that includes shoes! These gorgeous chunky sandals will be a walking conversation piece and add a vibrant pop to any outfit, and they're comfortable enough to go dancing in all night long.
Faux leather slip-ons that might make your friends stop, rub their eyes, and go, "Are those Hermès?" They're definitely not, but if you wanna save $800 and buy these instead, I certainly wouldn't blame you. These affordable but dressy slides will (*in the voice of Chappell Roan*) get the job done!
Crocs platform wedges proving how cute *and* comfortable a platform can be. Reviewers swear by them for travel and any occasion where lots of walking is on the agenda, and the rubber makes them a breeze to clean. Get ready for everyone who sees them to be shocked when you tell them the brand.
Elastic strap sandals that stretch to accommodate and hug your feet, not dig painfully or hang loosely because the fit is off. Simple, stylish, and affordable, these slip-resistant sandals will get so much use that they're an absolute steal at this price.
Naturalizer ankle strap sandals likely to become your go-to dress shoe for formal and semi-formal events, and thankfully, they come in dozens of cute, trendy colors and styles to bulk up your collection! With a block heel just over 2 inches tall, they're also built for comfort, with ~Contour+ technology~ and a padded sole to keep your feet happy.
Or chic Margaux City Sandals that come in the dreamiest shades and keep you supported with a thick block 2.5-inch heel and plush foam padding. These shoes were *made* for walking — a phrase not often said of heels, but with the City Sandals, it couldn't be more true.
Some extra-wide-width strappy sandals if you're sick and tired of ending the day with weird marks on your skin because your sandals suffocated your feet. Not with these bad boys! Now your toes can be as relaxed as you are while sipping a mai tai by the pool. (BTW, they're also great if your feet tend to swell while traveling!)
*Or* some flexible leather sandals designed with a "barefoot" feel that, yep, feels like you're not wearing shoes at all, in the best way. Another genius feature: The straps aren't fixed; it's actually one long strip of leather you can adjust for the perfect fit!
Lace-up platform espadrilles perfect for pairing with that new dress you're taking on vacation, adding some elegant flair and height without you having to gamble your stability by wearing stilettos.
Or some flat Greek gladiator sandals if you want to feel like an absolute goddess while posing for photos in your best dress. Their minimal style will put all the focus on your outfit while letting your feet and legs breathe, and though they might look flimsy, these expertly crafted sandals are made from quality materials and designed for comfortable, all-day wear.

4 Takeaways From Switchback 2025, From Tariff Talk to Courting New Consumers
Switchback has wrapped its first standalone trade show, growing out of The Running Event to gather the outdoor industry over three days this week in Nashville. Nearly 1,300 attendees represented 194 brands and 290 retailers from 41 states and 9 countries. The trade show opened Monday with a series of educational panels and presentations, and the programming continued through Tuesday and Thursday while more than 30,000 feet of exhibition state was open for previews from brands. More from WWD Code Korea Project: 8 Brands to Check Out During Pitti Uomo The Couture Show 2025: Resilience in the Face of Uncertainty The Highlights and Events of Couture 2025 Nurture Relationships and Celebrate Design Excellence On Wednesday, Footwear News highlighted the top 17 shoes revealed at Switchback, and now we're taking a broader look at key business takeaways from the outdoor trade show. A prevailing sentiment throughout the trade show was that it was great to be back together in one place. With the disruption of COVID and Outdoor Retailer's profile diminished, brands and retailers relished the opportunity to once again meet face-to-face. 'I think this show is exactly what the industry needs,' Jessica Adler, vice president of sales for Merrell, told FN. 'It's great to have a national show that is relevant, gets everybody energized and excited about the future. I love the traffic, love the energy.' Although the list of exhibitors carried some heavy-hitters — including show sponsors Merrell and The North Face, as well as Asics, Arc'teryx, Birkenstock, and Skechers — the exhibition hall was intentionally kept intimate. Booth space was limited to 20 feet by 20 feet, with an exception made only for Merrell's double plot. 'We wanted to create this inclusive floor plan that would be easy to explore and easy for discovery, to really keep everyone connected and together,' said Christina Henderson, director of Switchback and The Running Event. 'We wanted something that we will build upon.' Lee Cox, vice president and general manager of Teva and Ahnu, appreciated the scope of Switchback and said it comes at an important time for Teva. 'It feels like a big regional show,' Cox said. 'Sometimes trade shows can get a little too big and it becomes more of a marketing tool versus a selling tool. For us, this is a selling tool.' Away from the business conducted in the exhibition hall, a full slate of educational panels and presentations offered insights on vendor-retailer relationships, tariffs, sustainability, and consumer profiles. Those at the front of the room spoke candidly on their respective topics, and the audiences weren't shy in their questioning and outlining some of their own difficulties. The next Switchback will return to its place within The Running Event in December in San Antonio, and next year's standalone spring show has already been announced for June in New Orleans. In a Monday afternoon panel on improving wholesale relationships between retailers and vendors, specialty retailers were in the spotlight. Direct-to-consumer sales have added competition, and one thing is clear: retailers want vendors to stop stepping on their toes. Minimum advertised pricing (MAP) policies are a major point of contention, as specialty retailers are often unable to match the discounts offered by the brands themselves and operate with slimmer margins. 'We started trying to match and coordinate, and I've drifted more and more to I don't care, and I can't,' said Brian Mildenstein, owner of Fin & Feater in Iowa City, during the panel. 'It's impossible for me to do that, so we'll just focus on ourselves and do our own thing to make sure we're still relevant.' Adler acknowledged that Merrell has been strict about MAP pricing, sometimes even 'too diligent at times,' but said the brand is open to working with retailers if something's not working. 'We're trying to become more channel agnostic,' Adler said. 'DTC is a good test run for us to see what works — how do we connect [it] and see if it's worth scaling, how do we continue to build upon that faster with our wholesale channel. It's no longer about just having these transactional relationships in wholesale. It's really about partnerships and strategic partnership and understanding that alignment.' Specialty retailers have the advantage of being able to educate consumers in-person, and both sides of the panel expressed a desire to work together more on community-building events such as run clubs and pint nights. There's also a strong desire to return to more face-to-face interaction, which Switchback was able to provide. A Monday afternoon presentation from Kelly Davis, director of research for Outdoor Industry Association (OIA), put forth a new system of categorization for consumers: Core, Active and Casual. Whereas consumers were previously categorized purely based off of frequency of activity, this system also accounts for intensity of approach, spend levels and desired effect. Core consumers average an annual spend of $2,200 on gear and apparel, while Active and Casual come in $1,600 and $1,400 respectively. But the Core consumer, the hardcore participant so often the emphasis of marketing and product design, accounts for just 5.1 percent of the market. What remains is a vast majority falling into either Active (49.7 percent) or Casual (42 percent). Decreasing sales from 2021 to 2024 can be attributed to a misunderstanding of the Active and Casual consumers who account for the most purchases. Whereas the Core consumer is seeking excitement, the two other categories are motivated by something else. 'We are happiness dealers,' Davis said. 'We're not selling climate, we're not selling a running shoe, we're not selling any of that. We're selling experiences and beyond experiences, we're selling happiness, calm and balance.' Brands, retailers and consumers are all waiting to see where tariff policies land. The announcement of tariffs, the reversals and the ongoing windows for negotiations have made it hard to plan for the long-term. A presentation from Jaclyn Levy, senior directory of advocacy and government Affairs for OIA, zeroed in on what can actually be done in this period of uncertainty. Levy underlined the importance of reaching out to elected representatives to advocate and educate. Noise needs to be made to highlight how the outdoor business will be affected by tariffs, as 98 percent of apparel and 99 percent of footwear sold in the U.S. is imported. 'It's easy to close your eyes if somebody's not sitting in your office telling them exactly how many jobs were lost in their own constituency,' Levy said. Innovation is also at the core of the outdoor business, the expense of which becomes harder to tackle with the threats of tariffs. To help businesses communicate with their representatives, OIA has resources available including webinars and toolkits on top of the advocacy it's undertaking on its own. Even among the uncertainty, some brands such as Arc'teryx and Birkenstock made the point of noting that their prices are already set for spring 2026. These sandals have a sporty look that makes them look super cool, and they have flexible traction outsoles that make them well-suited for difficult terrain. Plus, their knit strap will keep them securely on your feet and won't rub. I'm a big fan of the sharp range of black and brown color options this shoe comes in, and they're super comfortable to boot, thanks to their Skechers Memory Foam cushioned comfort insole. They also have a flexible traction outsole that moves with you and keeps you steady on rough terrain. These Skechers loafers are both smart and comfortable. They blend in well everywhere, from the office to the beach! With air-cooled memory foam underfoot and a stretch knit upper, your feet will be supported, and there's no chance of blisters.
