Day 6 of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup delivered high drama, stunning goals, and crucial wins as the group stage heated up. From Messi's magic to Botafogo's shock upset, here's a look at the top moments from each of Day 6's four thrilling encounters.
Palmeiras 2–0 Al Ahly
Palmeiras earned a solid 2–0 victory over Al Ahly in East Rutherford, with the breakthrough coming via an unfortunate own goal by Wessam Abou Ali early in the second half.
The match was interrupted by a storm delay around the 63rd minute, but Palmeiras returned to the pitch with renewed energy. Just minutes after play resumed, José López capitalized on a defensive lapse to double the lead, sealing three crucial points for the Brazilian side in Group A.
Inter Miami 2–1 FC Porto
Inter Miami pulled off a dramatic comeback against FC Porto in Atlanta. After Porto's Samu Aghehowa scored an early penalty, Telasco Segovia leveled the score just after halftime with a cool finish.
Then came the moment of the night—Lionel Messi curled in a trademark free kick from 25 yards out in the 54th minute, sending the crowd wild and handing Inter Miami a landmark win over the Portuguese giants.
Atlético Madrid 3–1 Seattle Sounders
Atlético Madrid returned to winning ways with a convincing 3–1 win over the Seattle Sounders at Lumen Field. Pablo Barrios starred with a first-half brace—his opener a thunderous strike from distance, followed by a well-worked second goal just before halftime. Axel Witsel added a third in the second half after a scramble in the box. Seattle responded with a late header from Jordan Morris, marking their first goal of the tournament but not enough to avoid defeat.
Botafogo 1–0 Paris Saint-Germain
In a stunning upset, Botafogo defeated PSG 1–0 in Philadelphia. The only goal came in the 36th minute when Igor Jesus capitalized on a deflected cross from Jefferson Savarino.
Despite PSG's dominance in possession and late attacking pressure, they couldn't find a breakthrough.
A late equalizer was disallowed for offside following a VAR review, dealing a blow to the French side's hopes of progressing.

Benfica knock out Auckland in Club World Cup romp
With the Portuguese side leading by a goal at half-time the match was suspended because of a storm, eventually resuming two hours later. Auckland of New Zealand, the only Oceania Football Confederation representatives at the tournament, were thrashed 10-0 by Bayern Munich in their Group C opener and this defeat means they are eliminated. Despite their eventual collapse, Auckland battled hard in the first half and almost made it to the break unscathed. Auckland goalkeeper Nathan Garrow made several good saves to keep Benfica at bay and the Portuguese side grew frustrated. Benfica took the lead deep into first half stoppage time when Gianluca Prestianni was clumsily felled in the area by Haris Zeb. Di Maria, who converted a spot-kick in the opening 2-2 draw against Boca Juniors, sent Garrow the wrong way. At half-time the match became the fourth in the last four days at the tournament to be impacted by a suspension for adverse conditions, with a storm arriving at the Inter&CO Stadium. When play eventually resumed, Benfica came back out strongly. Vangelis Pavlidis bundled his way through and smashed home to double Bruno Lage's team's lead in the 53rd minute, with Renato Sanches netting the third 10 minutes later from outside the box with a deflected effort. Luxembourg midfielder Leandro Barreiro bagged a brace to expand Benfica's lead, tucking home at the back post from Pavlidis' cross for the fourth before netting from close range. Nikko Boxall brought down Di Maria in stoppage time and the Argentine World Cup winner beat Garrow from the spot again to wrap up Benfica's emphatic triumph. Flamengo fightback floors Chelsea at Club World Cup
Pedro Neto had given Chelsea the lead in the first half but Flamengo, roared on by their frenzied supporters who made up the majority of the 54,019 crowd, did not deserve to be behind and produced a stunning fightback after the interval. Bruno Henrique came off the bench in the 56th minute and equalised for the Brazilian giants just after the hour mark before setting up Danilo to make it 2-1. Chelsea were stunned, and their hopes of pulling level again were effectively destroyed when substitute Nicolas Jackson was sent off in the 68th minute. Wallace Yan, also on as a substitute, then sealed the victory for the Rio de Janeiro club, the Brazilian league leaders, when he made it 3-1 late on. With two wins from two at the tournament, Flamengo are now on the brink of qualification for the last 16 from Group D. Chelsea, meanwhile, were unable to repeat the victory obtained in their opening game against Los Angeles FC but will be hopeful of securing a place in the knockout phase in their final group outing against Esperance of Tunisia. The result follows Botafogo's stunning success against European champions Paris Saint-Germain on Thursday, stretching the unbeaten record for South American clubs at the competition to nine matches. Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca made four changes to his line-up following the win over LAFC in Atlanta, with new signing Liam Delap coming in for his first start up front. Delap had an early effort tipped over but it was Neto who gave Chelsea the lead in the 13th minute as he pounced on a slip by Wesley to run through and score a second goal in as many games at FIFA's new competition. Jackson red card Flamengo applied plenty of pressure in the first half without really looking like scoring, but it was a different story after the break. They nearly drew level on 54 minutes when Gerson pounced on a mistake by Reece James and tried to pick his spot in the corner. His connection was poor, and the arriving Gonzalo Plata could not turn the ball in at the back post. The 34-year-old Bruno Henrique, capped twice by Brazil earlier in his career, then came on as the pendulum swung further towards Flamengo. Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez tipped over a shot by Plata just before the equaliser came on 62 minutes. A Gerson cross was headed back across goal by Plata and Bruno Henrique was there to turn it in, sparking wild celebrations among the Brazilian fans clad in red and black at Lincoln Financial Field. Three minutes later Flamengo were ahead as a corner was headed down by Bruno Henrique and former Real Madrid, Manchester City and Juventus defender Danilo converted. Jackson then saw red for raking his studs into the shin of Ayrton Lucas leaving Chelsea to finish the game a man short. Enzo Fernandez was not far away from equalising, but then Flamengo wrapped up the win seven minutes from time as a Plata shot struck Wallace Yan and the ball fell kindly for the substitute to fire in.
