Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders say they're getting a ‘life-changing' 400% increase in pay
FRISCO, Texas — The Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders say they are getting a serious increase in pay.
One of the cheerleaders has said during the second season of the Netflix series 'America's Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders' that the members are getting a 400% boost in pay.
The cheerleaders have been pushing for pay increases for years. In 2019, the Cowboys settled a lawsuit with a former cheerleader that led to the squad doubling the per-game pay, from $200 to $400. The latest raise is four times that.
'Our efforts were heard and they wanted to give us a raise,' four-year veteran Megan McElaney said on the show. 'And we ended up getting a 400% increase, which is like, life-changing.'
According to ESPN, the Cowboys agreed to pay four cheerleaders a total of $2.4 million nine years ago to settle claims by the women that the team's longtime public relations chief, Rich Dalrymple, filmed them in the dressing room.
Dalrymple denied the claims, and the club said its investigation found no wrongdoing by him. Dalrymple retired not long before the settlement became public in 2022.
The Cowboys have been the most valuable pro sports team in the world for almost a decade, according to Forbes magazine. That number was $10.1 billion in rankings published late last year.
'Happy' isn't even the right word for it,' former cheerleader Jada McLean said on the show. 'I think I was just … kind of felt, like, a relief, like everything had paid off. And it was, you know, finally, we were done fighting.'

Meanwhile Armani Latimer said that the team is there to have each other's backs no matter what. "We see each other every single day pretty much. So there's kind of not going to be a day where if someone comes in and they seem a little off, we're not going to notice," she said. "And we'll pull them aside and have a chat with them and say, 'Hey, what's going on today? Anything you need to talk about?' So I think we're pretty good at doing that."

Meghan Markle is restocking her sold-out As Ever products on Friday, and several royal experts believe it's all part of her plan to be recognized as a royal entrepreneur with a reigning business empire. 'Of course, her royal title and Sussex name are boosting her brand,' British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard told Fox News Digital. 'She will cling to this as it will help bring her [more] fame and fortune, which is imperative to her life. She will keep her fingers in many pies and her name in lights with the hope that one or more of her ideas will bring in the much-needed hard cash.' 'However, she is not likely to amass her fortune from the sales of basic As Ever treats, however delicious they may be,' Chard claimed. A post on As Ever's Instagram teased that its bringing back its products and 'some delicious surprises.' The brand is known for raspberry spreads, teas, limited-edition wildflower honey and edible flowers, or 'flower sprinkles.' Chard made her comments shortly after quotes from royal expert Valentine Low's 2023 book, 'Courtiers,' surfaced online. At the time of the book's publication, the author claimed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex left royal life because they wanted the 'freedom to make money and dip their toes into politics.' He also claimed the 'Suits' alum was eager to 'earn money for herself,' which reportedly influenced the couple's decision to make their royal exit. 6 Meghan Markle promoted her new launch early Friday morning on Instagram with a photo of her swinging captioned 'No more sleeps!' @aseverofficial/Instagram The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back as senior royals in 2020 and moved to the wealthy, coastal city of Montecito in California. At the time, they cited the unbearable intrusions of the British press and a lack of support from the palace as their reasons for the move. That same year, the couple signed a five-year contract with Netflix reportedly worth $100 million. Their Spotify deal was said to be worth between $15 million to $18 million. Low claimed in his book that before the couple left for California, they suggested the idea of 'having a month [to a year] to do their own thing,' as quoted by the U.K.'s Daily Mail. According to the outlet, Low also said the pair considered 'spending most of their time privately but doing a select number of royal activities.' Netflix's The Waterfront: Will the show get a season 2?
Netflix has just released their latest drama series The Waterfront, and, after binging all eight episodes, fans are already demanding the show returns for another season. So what's the verdict? If you haven't seen the show yet (don't worry it's only been out for a day), it's about the Buckley family, who run a fishing and restaurant business in their small North Carolina town. As they run into business trouble, they take drastic (and illegal) action to keep themselves afloat, and as the series goes on they find themselves in a lot of drama. After eight episodes the series ends with a major suggestion the show could be coming back for another series. So is it? Here's what we know about The Waterfront season two. Ok so as of right now the show has not been officially renewed for another season. However, there are several indicators The Waterfront will return. While discussing the season finale with Tudum, series creator Kevin Williamson, said this season was all about the relationship between Cane and his father Harlan, with the suggestion being that a future season would be more centred on Belle. "This season was about Harlan and Cane — how they reconciled their differences and how they're going to move forward. Now Belle is a little more front and centre. She's not living in the shadows.' Sounds like he's already started planning another season to us. And Jake Weary who plays Cane in the series, has shared his thoughts on what a potential next season could look like. When asked by TV Insider what he hopes would happen in season two he said: "The end of the first season feels like it's still moving because you don't want it to stop, right? So that's a good sign, I think, for season two. I would like to see it just keep moving. I would like to see the family come together to stave off some universal villain." If season two were to get renewed we'd hope to see the majority of the cast return including: One person who won't be making a comeback is Topher Grace, whose character Grady was shot dead in the finale by Cane. Season one ended with a big surprise. Another crime family the Parkers, who series creator Kevin Williamson describes as "a school of sharks" reach out to Belle and try to begin working with her, rather than Harlan and Cane. As this happens only in the last episode we would expect it to carry on as a big plot of the second season. We'd also want to see if Cane and Jenna's relationship is actually finished business or if there's more to their affair as another season picks up. We'd also want to see some happiness for Bree after everything she's gone through already. The Waterfront is available on Netflix now
