When will LSU baseball resume College World Series game vs. UCLA?

LSU and UCLA will wait until Tuesday to complete Game 8 of the College World Series. Just before the start of the fourth inning on Monday night, the game entered a weather delay. After hours passed, CWS and NCAA officials opted to resume the game on Tuesday. The contest will pick up at 10 a.m. CT and be on televised on ESPN2. Advertisement After three innings, LSU leads 5-3. UCLA scored three runs in the first, but LSU answered, scoring four runs in the bottom half of the inning. Jake Brown started the comeback with an RBI single before Jared Jones launched a three-run homer. After Anthony Eyanson pitched two scoreless innings, LSU added another run with a Luis Hernandez RBI single. With Eyanson settling in, the delay came at a bad time for LSU. Now, the Tigers will be forced to adjust their pitching plans with Eyanson unavailable on Tuesday. LSU certainly wanted more than three innings from its star pitcher, but these things happen when weather gets involved. The LSU-UCLA loser will be in a tough spot. It will face a quick turnaround to play Arkansas in an elimination game later in the day. WNBA Reacts to Paige Bueckers' Clutch Shot in Wings-Mystics Game

WNBA Reacts to Paige Bueckers' Clutch Shot in Wings-Mystics Game originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Sunday was an action-packed day for the WNBA. One of the games on the docket was the Washington Mystics hosting the Dallas Wings at CareFirst Arena as Paige Bueckers and Co. looked to make it three straight wins for the first time this season. Advertisement The game turned out to be quite a nail-biter, with neither team willing to let up. As a matter of fact, the matchup required an extra period to determine a winner--and this would not have been the case had it not been for Bueckers' clutch time heroics for Dallas. The frontrunner for this season's Rookie of the Year title knocked down a huge three-pointer with 11.0 seconds remaining to tie the game at 84-84. The Mystics were not able to respond on the other end, which meant that Bueckers' shot sent this game to overtime. The WNBA took to social media to share its reactions to Bueckers' game-tying triple in regulation. "WE ARE HEADED TO OT OFF THIS PAIGE BUECKERS THREE! 🚨" the league posted on X. Unfortunately for Bueckers and the Wings, they fell short in the extra period. Bueckers actually had another opportunity to tie the game with another clutch trey in the dying seconds of OT, but her attempt from 27 feet out with 2.8 seconds remaining failed to find the bottom of the net. Advertisement The Wings suffered their first loss in three games, 91-88. Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers (5)Patrick Gorski-Imagn Images It was a heartbreaking defeat for Dallas, which ended up wasting another strong performance from their prized rookie. Bueckers finished the game with 20 points on 7-of-17 shooting, nine rebounds, seven assists, a steal, a block and one triple in 40 minutes of action. The Wings get a day off before returning to action on Tuesday in a home game against the Atlanta Dream. Bueckers and Co. will enter that contest with a 3-12 record. WNBA Reveals Historic Rookie News After Wings-Mystics Games

WNBA Reveals Historic Rookie News After Wings-Mystics Games originally appeared on Athlon Sports. All eyes were on Paige Bueckers on Sunday as the Dallas Wings took on the Washington Mystics with a mission to secure their third straight win. Advertisement However, despite a formidable effort from Dallas, it was still Washington that came out on top for a hard-fought 91-88 home win in what turned out to be a thrilling affair. Bueckers did all she could for the Wings, finishing with 20 points on 7-of-17 shooting, nine rebounds and seven assists. The former UCOnn star also knocked down one of the biggest shots of the night by draining a clutch three-pointer with 11.0 seconds remaining to send the game to overtime. In the end, however, the Mystics were able to hold their opponents off to improve to 6-8 on the season. Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers (5) dribbles the ball as Washington Mystics guard Sonia Citron (22) defends.© Geoff Burke-Imagn Images This victory was thanks in large part to Washington rookie Sonia Citron, who went off against Bueckers and Co. Citron dropped a career-high 27 points on 9-of-13 from the field, 11 rebounds, two assists, two steals, a block and four triples in the win. Advertisement After the game, the WNBA took to social media to announce Citron's historic milestone in her career performance. "With 27 PTS and 11 REB today, Sonia Citron became the first rookie in @WashMystics franchise history to tally 25+ PTS and 10+ REB in a single game!" the league posted on X. It was Citron who came out on top of the rookie battle in this one as the 6-foot-1 guard proved that she wasn't going to back down against Bueckers. This resulted in the No. 3 overall pick leading Washington to its sixth win of the season. The Mystics are just 0.5 games outside the playoff picture right now and are looking to make some noise toward the midway point of the campaign.
