Kuberaa Box Office Collections: Rings 26cr worldwide on first day, Career best opening for Dhanush
Sekhar Kammula directed Telugu-Tamil bilingual Kuberaa grossed Rs. 17 crore approx at the Indian box office on its first day. The Dhanush starrer delivered his biggest opening to date, surpassing his previous best, Raayan, which opened to Rs. 16.50 crore last year. Additionally, the film grossed another Rs. 9 crore approx overseas, for a worldwide gross of Rs. 26 crore, also his best. The Telugu version led the charge, while the Tamil version was on the lower side. There were also Hindi and Kannada dubbed versions, but they were non-starters, though the film had a pretty good first day in Karnataka state. The film grossed Rs. 10 crore approx in the Telugu states, with a good contribution from both the Andhra and Nizam sides. Tamil Nadu came in at Rs. 4.25 crore approx, which is below par for a Dhanush film, but a couple of days ago, even Rs. 3 crore seemed doubtful. The film did well to end up where it did. It saw a good pick-up in collections as the day progressed, which also bodes well for its overall prospects. Kuberaa has high costs involved, north of Rs. 125 crore. It managed to make good recoveries from the non-theatrical rights, which have eased immediate pressure on its box office run, but it still needs to gross close to Rs. 125 crore to see its investors through. From this start and with seemingly positive reception, the film looks like a potential winner. This has been a terrible year for the Telugu box office, with a drought of releases since the two weeks of the Sankranti period in January. There were a couple of releases that did well at the medium level, but overall, the situation is grim. Kuberaa shall provide some relief, but a lot more is needed. The First Day Box Office Collections of Kuberaa are as follows:

This weekend, Hyderabad fundraiser showcases works of masters, from Thota Vaikuntam to Ramesh Gorjala
An art exhibition showcasing the works of acclaimed artists such as Thota Vaikuntam, Jogen Chowdary, Shakti Burman, Laxman Aelay and Ramesh Gorjala, is on view in Hyderabad. The showcase is a part of Paropakar 2025: Art for Education, a fund-raising initiative by the city-based nonprofit association, Nachiketa Tapovan. Sushma Thota, founding partner of The Culinary Lounge, who has curated this exhibition, states that the proceeds from the sales would go towards providing education for children from underprivileged and tribal communities, with a focus on first-generation learners. Each purchased artwork, she adds, will directly fund a child's education — tuition fee, books, uniforms and meals. The two-day event includes soul-stirring performances by the students whose futures this initiative seeks to support, alongside meet-the artist sessions and student interactions. The organisers state that the art exhibition seeks to bring together the creative community, philanthropists and art lovers to underline that education is a right, not a privilege. (Paropakar 2025 is on June 21 and 22; 10am to 8pm, at The Culinary Lounge, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad)

Prince and Family OTT Verdict: Box office, Twitter review of Dileep, Dhyan Sreenivasan's Malayalam comedy drama
Prince and Family hit JioHotstar on June 20 onwards, after completing a successful theatrical run. The movie is directed by a debutant filmmaker Binto Stephen and received mixed reviews at the time of its theatrical release. And now, within a day of its launch on OTT, social media has already been filled with reviews left by audiences who watched the film online. Here's how they felt about the movie. Prince and Family OTT verdict Well, a majority of viewers agreed that Prince and Family is a decent movie which can indeed be enjoyed with family and within a varied age group. The film's starting, as many have credited, was so well woven that none of the viewers were able to comprehend what was next in store for them. Nonetheless, there were still some traces of poor direction and disappointing writing in some quite evident places. Actor Dileep's performance was well-rounded and has been tagged as the driving force of the entire narrative. His perfect comic timing and charm attempted to outlive certain flaws like 'being cringey' and 'forced humor'. Other than him, many viewers felt that the remaining choice of cast appeared to be questionable since they did not put forth much of an effort for the joint appeal of the movie. The second half as per the audience was tedious and far-stretched, and any attempt at sending across a meaningful message was overridden. Absence of real humor and the use of outdated themes are some of the most common flaws pointed out by the netizens after watching Prince and Family on-screen. Prince and Family box office response Well, the movie appeared as the top performer in Kerala in terms of box office numbers, surpassing many Malayalam films which were released subsequently. Prince and Family outgrossed movies like Padakkalam and Sarkeet at the box office and grossed over Rs. 5.25 crore within just 5 days of release. It is only topped by Mohanlal 's Thudarum among other latest releases.
