
Post-Press Note: NIFT Mumbai Craft Bazar 2025 and Spectrum 2025 Annual Fest Celebration
NIFT organized the Craft Bazar on 6th and 7th March 2025 to celebrate India's rich traditional crafts. Artisans set up stalls showcasing and selling products in Block Printing, Batik, Santhal Painting, Crochet, Nagpur Textiles, Kolhapuri Chappal, Chitrakathi Painting, Paithani, and Maheshwari textiles. The participating artisans included Mr. Maruti Bamne, Mr. Kundan Satpute, Ms. Meenu Aanand, Ms. Siya S. Vaigankar, Ms. Klasy D' Souza, Mr. Sachin Potdar, Ms. Smita Manivannan Chakravarthi, Mr. Pritam Sataynarayan Pandhurnekar, Ms. Vijaya Pawar, Mr. Sagar Vijay Kherud, and Mr. Vrajkumar Vinaykumar Makwana.
The Craft Bazar was open to visitors, including students, faculty, and craft enthusiasts. They explored exquisite craftsmanship and supported artisan-led businesses. The Artisan Awareness Workshop was also held on 5th and 6th March 2025 to help artisans improve their skills and market knowledge. The sessions covered important topics such as Craft Policies and Market Skills, Origami Packaging, Product Diversification, Ergonomics, and Mobile Photography with Social Media Presence. These sessions helped artisans learn new ways to expand their craft and increase sales.The Craft Demonstration segment featured live demonstrations by handicraft and handloom artisans.
Alongside this, NIFT Mumbai celebrated the annual Fest Spectrum'25 on 7th & 8th March 2025 with full inthusization. The event was inaugurated by Chief Guest Mr Harsh Gupta founder of harsh harsh label, Guest of Honour Mrs Archana Pardhaan Tehesildaar Revenue & Forest and Mr Sizil Srivastava founder of lifafa studios.
This year, Spectrum revolves around the theme 'ILLUSIA,'. Illusia, a euphoria of colors, a blend of textures and an abundance of imagination to bring a surrealist world blurring the horizon between fantasy and reality. The darker undertones suggests the unconscious mind and how often creativity blooms in a garden of darkness. Bizarre and vivid, illusia delves into a mirrored world of textures, mixing and matching as far as the eyes can see & a lot more beyond. Illusia, the power of imagination, an amalgamation of the mind, heart & soul only working to make the impossible possible. This event provided a vibrant platform for students to express themselves creatively. Various Sports, Literary, Film & Photography, and Cultural Events have been organized to cater to diverse interests and talents. Additionally, students participated in workshops and showcased their creative work for sale in the shops of Meena Bazar.
The Craft Bazar, Artisan Awareness Workshop, and Spectrum'25 at NIFT Mumbai created a vibrant platform to witness India rich cultural heritage and creativy. NIFT remains committed to preserving and promoting India's craft traditions through such initiatives, fostering innovation and sustainability in the artisan community. NIFT cultural Fest Spectrum'25 offered a space for students to express themselves creatively through various art forms, performances, and competitions. The spectrum theme 'ILLUSIA' inspired participants to explore surrealist concepts, blending imagination with artistic expression.

NIFT Mumbai's 2025 Graduation Show Celebrates New Talent
The NIFT Mumbai Graduation Show 2025, held on June 6 at the institute's campus, was a vibrant celebration of creativity, innovation, and academic excellence. With 317 graduating students from various disciplines, the event served as a culmination of years of rigorous training and artistic exploration. Distinguished guests from the fashion and design industry—including Archana Kochhar, Nelson Jaffery, Meher Castelino, and others—graced the event to inaugurate discipline-specific shows like Fashionova (Fashion Design), Technova (Fashion Technology), Communique (Fashion Communication), Tantu (Textile Design), D-Dots (Master of Design), and Knitmoda (Knitwear Design). Each showcase featured original student collections inspired by a wide range of themes, such as cultural identity, architectural fantasy, familial narratives, and divinity. The show highlighted NIFT Mumbai's commitment to nurturing not just technical expertise, but also personal expression and entrepreneurial ambition among its students. Director Mr. Khushal Jangid emphasized the alignment of NIFT's vision with national initiatives like Start-up India and Make in India, encouraging graduates to step confidently into industry leadership and innovation. National Institute of Fashion Technology, Raebareli, students weave magic at Graduation Show in Lucknow
Students of Raebareili's National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) created magic with their dazzling collection that was on display at their Graduation Show held in Lucknow. The event showcased out-of-the-box concepts and designs that were a part of the final projects of the students from five departments — Accessory Design, Fashion Communication, Leather Design, Fashion Design, and Fashion Management Studies. Each department curated its exhibition or show under a unique title, celebrating the distinct identity and talent of its graduating students. The shows were titled Design Showcase (Accessory Design), iDEAΩ (Fashion Communication), Fashnova (Fashion Design), Bottomline (Fashion Management Studies), and Lexotica (Leather Design). The show also commemorated 40 years of NIFT's creative journey across the nation.' The winners were recognised and awarded under categories such as Best Graduation Project and Most Commercially Viable Design Intervention Award. The felicitated students included Devina Vijayvargiya, Priyansha Goel, Aditi, Janhvi P, Jyoti Vaishnav, Yashika Arya, Mansi Garg, Puneet Kumar, Sakshi Gupta, Shaili Singh, Himanshu and Aanchal Pundhir. Another highlight of the event was an exhibition put up by the students. All winners were felicitated with merit certificates and trophies at the end of the event. Regional Provident Fund commissioner Ashwini Kumar Gupta was the chief guest. Other guests included NABARD general manager Nandini Ghosh, AIIMS Rae Bareili dean Prof Neeraj Kumari, Uttar Pradesh Institute of Design and Research chairperson Kshipra Shukla. The Fashion Communication department highlighted modern branding, digital media, social campaign design, and visual storytelling with compelling narratives on contemporary social issues, informed Prof Sachin Verma. The show also saw enthusiastic participation from industry professionals, alumni, and proud families.
