AT least one person has been injured after a gunman reportedly drove a truck into a church and opened fire.
A heroic security guard at the church in Wayne, Michigan, took quick action and shot the suspect, police have said.

Cops confirmed the suspected gunman was dead by the time they arrived on scene.
Deputy Chief Finley Carter III told The U.S. Sun that the suspect is a 31-year-old male.
The shooting is reported to have taken place around 11:15 am local time at Crosspointe Community Church.
A Sunday service began there just minutes before at 10:45 am.
According to a police source, the male gunman drove his truck into the church and opened fire, per ABC News affiliate WXYZ.
Multiple people have been injured, but the severity of these injuries is not yet known, the sources told the outlet.
Cops confirmed that one person was shot in the leg but gave no further details.
Locals have been told to avoid the area as the investigation continues.
"The Wayne Police Department responded to an active shooter at Crosspointe Church in Wayne this morning," the City of Wayne, Michigan Police Department wrote on Facebook.
"Upon arrival, officers determined that a security guard for the church shot and killed the suspect.
"One victim was shot in the leg. Please avoid the area.
"Officers are still actively investigating."
'SAVED THE DAY'
In response to the statement, locals praised the heroic security guard who took out the active shooter, claiming they heard "at least 100 rounds of gunfire".
"That security guard saved the day," local Ethan Wagemann wrote in the comments.
"I heard it all sounded like it was right outside. Sounded like at least 100 rounds of machine gun fire.
"After I heard what sounded maybe 3 handgun shots there was no more machine gun fire."
"Prayers to the Security Guard. He should get a Key to the City for his bravery and for possibly saving countless other lives," another said.
A third added that the police response "was phenomenal".
Westland City Councilwoman Melissa Sampey thanked officers assisting in the investigation and urged people to "pray for all involved".

Deputy Chief Carter confirmed that multiple agencies are on scene.

After we were incapacitated, she knew to go lock the door and call police and inform them senator Hoffman and mom were shot. Where are the attempted murder charges regarding my daughter? Where?' Boelter has only been charged with two counts of second-degree murder for the slayings of Democratic State Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark, and two of attempted murder for Yvette and John. The enraged mother went on to mention that Hope even had to stress that her father was a senator several times to the 911 dispatcher that dreadful morning. 'If Hope hadn't intentionally said SENATOR Hoffman the 4 times I remember her saying it to 911 dispatchers. More people would have been slaughtered,' Yvette said. Yvette shared startling new details about the horrific scene in a Facebook post Sunday Roughly 90 minutes after the Hoffmans were targeted, the gunman made his way to the Hortman's Brooklyn Park home - about eight miles from the first incident. According to Yvette, Hope was 'the reason officers knew to go to Hortman,' she wrote. They were tragically killed after Boelter allegedly opened fire on them in their home around 3am. Police encountered the gunman fleeing Hortman's residence around 3.35am and exchanged gunfire with him. Shortly after the unspeakable slayings, Boelter, a former appointee of Governor Walz, was sought by authorities. He surrendered to officers on June 15 after they located him in the woods near his home, bringing an end to a massive, nearly two-day search that put the entire state on edge. A mass brawl involving hundreds of youngsters yesterday broke out on Broadstairs beach despite police issuing a dispersal order which they said would 'disrupt antisocial behaviour'. Astonishing footage of the fight shows the massive group of youths surrounding two males who are throwing punches and slaps at each other on the walkway behind a row of beach huts on the Kent seafront. The altercation then spills onto the sand with the baying crowds screaming and seemingly urging the pair to continue fighting while terrified families and children flee the beach. Police officers could be seen arriving on the litter-strewn beach once the fight had cooled off but many of the youngsters had already left the area. The fight came just one day after Kent Police announced they had implemented a Section 34 dispersal order, which locals have since described as 'totally ineffective'. The onlooker, who captured the video of the brawl, posted to social media to say there was 'no sign of any law an order' in the area after police vowed the public would see 'additional patrols' over the weekend. He added: 'Is it time for the locals to form a group of volunteers to take matters into our own hands and get these f*****g urchins dealt with. 'We can't tolerate this bulls**t and if we don't make some kind of stand then people will stop coming here. And everyone [loses] out.' They say these groups had been drinking underage, fighting each other and been reported for behaving 'aggressively' towards shop staff. They added that it granted officers 'additional powers' to 'instruct people to leave the area' and that anyone who returned after being dispersed would risk being arrested. However, many dismayed locals said the area was still unsafe. 'It's not safe for anyone under these conditions, they are out of control,' one local wrote on social media. Another added: 'I'm angry and so are the most of Thanet by the sound of it. But sadly the police are not making any kind of difference. 'I'm not suggesting that we group together and go out beating them up, but we have to get together and come up with good ideas and [have] them enforce it.' A spokesperson for Kent Police for told MailOnline: 'Kent Police was called to a report that a disturbance related to approximately 50 individuals was taking place on Broadstairs beach shortly before 3pm on Saturday 21 June. 'Officers attended and after completing enquiries a 17 year old boy was arrested and taken into custody. 'Later that day, the teenager was charged with assaulting a police officer and was bailed with conditions to attend Maidstone Youth Court at a later date. 'A dispersal order remains in place following concerns of antisocial behaviour involving a small minority of young people in some public areas, including the town centre and beaches. 'Local officers will be on patrol to provide a visible presence and to ensure the area remains a safe place for all.'

Mystery as huge $2.1M sculptures vanish from LA warehouse
A sophisticated art heist left a profound sculptor in shock when he discovered two enormous pieces were swiped from his warehouse. Sir Daniel Winn's two prized sculptures, Quantum Mechanics: Homme, and Icarus Within, were stolen from a warehouse in Anaheim Hills, California, on or around June 14. The massive sculptures were crafted with bronze and stainless steel. Icarus Within weighs a ton and stands at eight feet tall. The piece is valued at $350,000, while Quantum Mechanics is worth a massive $1.8 million. Winn told the Los Angeles Times that moving the sculptures for exhibitions requires a massive operation including a forklift, a dozen men, and a truck. The heist has also left police dumbfounded, as Anaheim Police Sergeant Matt Sutter admitted to the publication that authorities had little information. 'I have no idea where these sculptures are,' Sutter told the LA Times. 'They could be in somebody's house or in a shipping container somewhere. That's what we're trying to find out.' The officer added that in his 25 years with the department, he's never seen a burglary of this scale. 'We've had our share of high-end homes that were burglarized, but this type of crime, involving forklifts, trucks, crews and the sheer size of the sculptures is something I can't remember us having before,' he added. Warehouse workers told authorities that they last saw the sculptures on Saturday and arrived for their shifts the following Monday with the pieces nowhere to be found. Winn told local NBC affiliate, KABC, that the heist was a targeted attack and was doubtful that the thieves just wanted cash for scrap metal due to the scale of the operation. The thieves left other artwork and valuables in the warehouse. Winn is known as a 'blue-chip artist,' meaning he is internationally recognized and his work sells for high values. The artist came to the US as a child refugee fleeing the Vietnam War. He studied medicine at the University of California in Irvine, before deciding to pursue art. Winn is also the Board Chairman of The Academy of Fine Art Foundation and was knighted in 2018 for his non-profit work. He describes his art as Existential Surrealism, exploring themes related to his upbringing as a refugee. One of the sculptures stolen, Home, was featured in the film Creation in 2022 and was the only unsold work in his Quantum Mechanics series. Winn was gutted that his work was stolen and is now concerned the sculptures will be sold on the black market. 'These are my children. I have no physical, organic children. Every artwork I create is my child,' he told the LA Times.
