Where the Georgia Bulldogs rank among SEC fan bases
Where the Georgia Bulldogs rank among SEC fan bases
Georgia Bulldogs fans have been ranked as the fifth-best fan base in the SEC according to College Sports Wire. Georgia is ranked behind the No. 4 Tennessee Volunteers, the No. 3 South Carolina Gamecocks, the No. 2 LSU Tigers and the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide.
Of course, the rankings aren't without some controversy. Alabama is ranked No. 1 partially because "crimson-clad Tide fan stays until the final whistle in the game, even if they are up by 60" even though this is just not true. Former Alabama head coach Nick Saban criticized Crimson Tide fans multiple different times for leaving early during blowouts.
Let's be real though. Georgia fans aren't perfect either. At the Georgia-Georgia Tech game in 2024, Georgia fans either didn't have faith (Georgia trailed 17-0 at halftime and by 14 late in the fourth quarter) or were tired of the cold. As a result, thousands of Georgia fans hit the exits early and missed one of the greatest college football games of all-time. Georgia beat Georgia Tech 44-42 in eight overtimes in front of a Sanford Stadium that was not close to completely full.
Still, it is better for fans to leave early than to throw bottles on the field. Georgia is ranked well ahead of Texas, who checks in at No. 13. Bulldog fans are part of the reason why UGA has won a college football-best 31 straight home games entering the 2025 season. Georgia is 17-0 in home night games (entering 2025) during the Kirby Smart era.
Georgia fans deserve to be ranked ahead of one team on the list: Tennessee. Volunteer fans famously threw a mustard bottle among other debris on the field after a controversial call during a 2021 home loss to Ole Miss. To some that may qualify as having a wild fan base, but for most that's just being obnoxious and bad sportsmanship.
Back to Georgia fans. What does it entail to be a Georgia fan?
"Jawja,"said Lauren Beasley of College Sports Wire. "If you grew up around UGA, you learned two things by the time you could walk: 1) never walk under the Arch before graduation, and 2) always say 'Go Dawgs!' Game day starts with the Dawg Walk, where thousands of students and fans line the stadium entrance and streets as the team comes in, with the most famous dog in college football, Uga."
Georgia fans travel well
Georgia's Sanford Stadium now fits 93,033 fans after recent renovations in 2024. Bulldog fans always support the Dawgs well in Athens. Georgia fans also travel quite well on the road.
"After big wins, rabid Bulldog fans make the trek to ring the old chapel bell. Georgia fans travel extremely well, too, especially down to the Jacksonville annual liquor-fest against their rival, the Florida Gators. Bottom line: these Dawg fans chew up the miles between Knoxville, Columbia, and everywhere in between," added Beasley.
Georgia fans notably took over Notre Dame's stadium in 2017. Bulldogs fans regularly take over Vanderbilt and sometimes other SEC road venues.

ESPN makes 2025 Georgia football record prediction
The Georgia Bulldogs could be facing an SEC championship rematch in 2025, according to ESPN's Football Power Index (FPI). The Texas Longhorns (34.1%) and Georgia (26.9%) have the two best odds to win the SEC per FPI's estimate. The Alabama Crimson Tide (17.2%) are the only other SEC team with more than a 5% chance to win the conference. Interestingly, Georgia is scheduled to play both Texas and Alabama at home this season. Of course, playing Texas and Alabama on the road did not stop the Bulldogs from making the 2024 SEC championship where UGA went on to beat Texas in overtime. Texas, Georgia and Alabama are the top three teams in ESPN's FPI metric. They are also the three teams with the best chance to win the national championship along with the Ohio State Buckeyes. Key FPI Metrics Bottom Line ESPN's FPI is pretty high on Georgia entering the 2025 season despite all of the talent that Georgia lost. The Bulldogs lost 13 players to the 2025 NFL draft and had several more key contributors go undrafted. Georgia's 2025 team does not have as much experience as the Dawgs have had in previous years. Georgia will also be trotting out a new starting quarterback in Gunner Stockton. Georgia lost starting quarterback Carson Beck to the transfer portal in the winter. Beck and outside linebacker Damon Wilson highlight 20 Georgia players that left via the transfer portal. Coach Kirby Smart did bring in 10 transfers, but there's no doubt that the Bulldogs lost a lot of key players to the portal. Georgia will have a new look in the trenches. The Dawgs had a trio of interior offensive linemen drafted and lost their six leading sack producers from the 2024 season to the draft or transfer portal. Despite all the turnover, the standard remains the same in Athens. Georgia has a more manageable schedule in 2025 and winning 10 games during the regular season and returning to the College Football Playoff is a very achievable goal for the Dawgs. Arthur Blank Gives Another $10 Million Youth Golf Grant to First Tee
First Tee has received a $10 million grant from PGA Tour Superstore owner Arthur Blank through his ... More family foundation, pushing his total donation to more than $25 million to the youth golf development organization. With junior golfer participation levels at their highest levels in 20 years, the owner of PGA Tour Superstore – the nation's largest golf retailer – has deepened his longtime relationship with First Tee by gifting $10 million to the youth development organization. Arthur Blank, who also co-founded Home Depot and owns the NFL's Atlanta Falcons, has now contributed more than $25 million to First Tee through his family foundation dating back to 1999. 'Junior golf is the fastest-growing segment of the sport, and that's no coincidence," said Blank, the owner and chairman of the Blank Family of Businesses. 'It's a testament to the power of First Tee, which has made the game more accessible and enjoyable for young people, helping them experience golf in new and fun ways.' Blank joined First Tee as a National Trustee in 2011. Since then, support from PGA Tour Superstore and the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation have helped fuel the growth of First Tee's character-building programs across the U.S. that reach more than 3 million kids a year – at golf courses, schools and community centers. 'The innovative and engaging experiences that First Tee provides help kids build self-confidence and inner strength, qualities that will serve them throughout their lives,' added Blank, who has deep ties to the game (including ownership of the Atlanta Drive team that won the inaugural TGL championship) and is one of the nation's most influential advocates for youth golf development. "We're proud of our deep partnership with the First Tee and are committed to the purposeful impact sports can have in developing and supporting youth.' Almost 3.7 million juniors between the ages of 6 and 17 played golf on a course last year, according to the National Golf Foundation, the most since 2005 and a 48% increase since 2019 (prior to the pandemic). Blank has helped create a pipeline between PGA Tour Superstore and youth development, with 50 First Tee chapters in markets with the company's retail stores receiving grants to support youth programs. That number will continue to grow as PGA Tour Superstore's footprint further expands. Store locations in PGA TOUR Superstore markets receive grants to support local First Tee chapters, ... More with 50 chapters already impacted nationwide. Additionally, PGA Tour Superstore general managers each year lead a five-week, in-store leadership series in partnership with First Tee that helps teens explore potential career opportunities and develop their strengths away from the golf course. The program was offered at 44 store locations in 2024 and there are plans in place to expand it to 70 by 2029. And perhaps most uniquely, Blank hosts an annual Leadership Summit at his West Creek Ranch in Montana, where 40 First Tee teens experience activities like whitewater rafting and horseback riding while developing leadership skills and learning the importance of relationship building. This week, 48 teens visited Atlanta for a leadership program that included stops at PGA Tour Superstore headquarters and Blank's other sports properties, including the Falcons and Atlanta United. The annual Leadership Summit brings 40 First Tee teens to Blank's West Creek Ranch in Montana, where ... More they experience activities like whitewater rafting and horseback riding while developing leadership skills. Blank received First Tee's Founders Award in 2022 for his support of the organization. 'Arthur's vision and commitment reflect a deep understanding that investing in First Tee is truly an investment in the future," said PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan, Chair of the First Tee Board of Governors. "Through this transformative gift, Arthur is helping open doors for young people nationwide – empowering them to grow as golfers and as people.'

4-star WR Craig Dandridge locks in commitment date
The Georgia Bulldogs are among the schools contending to land a commitment from four-star wide receiver recruit Craig Dandridge, who will announce his commitment at 4 p.m. ET on Thursday, June 26. Dandridge is deciding among Georgia, Oklahoma, Stanford, Tennessee, Georgia Tech and Florida. Dandridge plays high school football for Cambridge High School in Milton, Georgia. He is coming off an excellent junior season, where he recorded 58 receptions for 1,443 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns. He is announcing his commitment on his 18th birthday. "I'm extremely blessed to be in this position to announce my commitment on my 18th birthday, thank you to every Coach and school that took a chance and believe in me," said Dandridge ahead of his commitment.
