Queen legend Brian May leaves fans in tears over emotional family announcement
Queen rockstar Sir Brian May has shared a touching family tribute online with fans flocking to the comments to share messages of support
Queen legend Brian May has been flooded with support from fans after sharing a touching throwback snap from 1971 on social media. The rock icon shared a moving picture of a map that was created by his late father, Harold May, to memorialise the band's first tour across Europe.
Alongside the illustration, the 77-year-old penned: 'My Dad's supportive handiwork for our first Queen tour of Europe... 1974!!! As honoured in Stockholm last night. Love to all - Bri.' Queen's European tour consisted of ten shows in six countries which they performed over a two and a half week period.
Sir Brian shared the snap to Instagram, where he has 3.5M followers and thousands of his loyal fans flocked to the comments to offer kind messages to the singer. One replied: "Oh what a heartfelt map full of love for you, Sir!"
A second commented 'Wow!! What a treasure!! Can't you just picture him sitting there, drawing, coloring, marking the routes, all the time thinking proudly, 'That's MY boy!''
A third fan exclaimed: 'I saw and crying, I didn't expect than I'm a small girl at 1994 in Russian my Papa brought me a CD The Works and told 'See, this is a good Music' then a couldn't explain my life without Queen music.'
A fourth added: "What beautiful attention to detail your father gave to these maps and what a lovely tribute you gave to him last night. Inspiring word".
Brian's touching post comes after he and Queen drummer Roger Taylor were awarded the 2025 Polar Music Prize at a gala ceremony in Sweden this week on Tuesday May 27.
The legendary musicians were honoured for their remarkable careers and contribution to music.
Stepping up to accept the award, Brian told the crowds: 'In this special moment, I contemplate how that younger Brian May in 1974 would have felt if he knew that we would be living this kind of dream 50 years in the future.'
While Roger recalled: 'When we started our band… we had ambitions, but never dreamed of the journey that was to follow.
"We were fortunate in the fact that our four wildly different personalities came together to achieve a wonderful chemistry.
'The Polar Music Prize is exceptional in the fact that, unlike other awards, it recognises the entirety of an artist's career.
"What an honour to be included in the glittering cavalcade of previous laureates.'
The evening featured live musical performances celebrating Queen's legacy and the other award winners and nominees as rock band Ghost performed a rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody alongside Opeth guitarist Fredrik Akesson.
Queen frontman Adam Lambert, who was appointed as the de facto lead singer of the band in 2011, then took to the stage.
He sang Queen hits Who Wants to Live Forever and Another One Bites the Dust, which were originally performed by the late Freddie Mercury.

Taking to his Instagram stories, Cruz, 20, wrote "The truth will unfold" alongside some cryptic lyrics. He shared some lyrics from The Beatles' hit The End. "Love you, love you, love you, love you // Love. "And in the end, the love you take // Is equal to the love you make," the lyrics read. The song was from the band's 1969 album Abbey Road, before the band broke up. This comes as the Beckhams continue to be embroiled in a huge family feud. The famous family are yet to speak publicly about their family row, but there have been several digs thrown around on social media. Brooklyn even publicly wished Nicola's brother a happy birthday recently, not long after snubbing his dad's milestone 50th. He snubbed his dad's birthday entirely but failing to attend any of the family celebrations. Brooklyn Beckham's family rift deepens as he turns back on UK by splashing out £11m on LA mansion with wife Nicola Peltz Brooklyn failed to attend David's birthday celebrations weeks ago, despite being in London at the time shooting a big campaign with posh fashion brand Moncler. He also failed to post a Father's Day tribute recently. Brooklyn has also added a floral tattoo to his chest, swamping the "mama's boy" tribute to his mum Victoria that previously took pride of place. This all comes amid claims Victoria Beckham left Nicola in tears on her wedding day in 2022. Sources told People magazine that Victoria allegedly 'hijacked' the first dance at Brooklyn's Palm Beach wedding. 'Marc Anthony, who is a friend of the Beckhams, offered to perform as a gift at the wedding,' one source said. 'Before the song began, Marc Anthony asked Brooklyn to come to the stage, and then announced, 'The most beautiful woman in the room tonight, come on up…Victoria Beckham!'' Nicola reportedly 'felt that Victoria ruined her wedding, and couldn't understand why'. Another source said guests were shocked when Victoria started slow dancing with Brooklyn, leaving Nicola in tears. 6 Brooklyn and Cruz are the eldest and youngest of the Beckham brothers Credit: instagram 6 David has three sons: Romeo, Cruz and Brooklyn Credit: David Dyson - Commissioned by The Sun

Former Love Island winner Jess Harding hits out at 'b**chy' 2025 contestant
Jess Harding, who won ITV's Love Island back in 2023, has shared her thoughts on current contestant Antonia 'Toni' Laites - who has been causing drama in the villa Former Love Island winner Jess Harding has lashed out at one of the current contestants in a scathing social media post. The 2025 season of ITV's long-running reality dating show began earlier this month and 16 contestants are currently housed in the villa. But tensions have been bubbling between some of the contestants and 24-year-olds Antonia 'Toni' Laites and Emily Moran have clashed while taking part in the show. Viewers were startled to see Toni accuse Emily of sticking her nose in her business during a fiery exchange that aired on Friday night. Jess, 24 - who won Love Island in 2023 alongside then-boyfriend Sammy Root, 24 - was among those watching at home to take to social media to dissect the unsettling scenes. The reality star shared her shock at Toni's outburst against Emily. Siding with the British star, Jess accused American bombshell Toni of being "b**chy". In a message shared via Instagram stories, the star wrote: "Ok what the hell, just because someone isn't your cup of tea doesn't mean you can cause a big drama over it?!" Jess continued: "Toni girl I loved you but I don't like b****y behaviour & pulling crying behaviour." And she added: "Why can't the girls be 1 big group cos these men be acting CRAZY." On Friday night, fans saw tension escalate between Toni and Emily as the 2025 season endured one of its most dramatic arguments so far. Friction came to a head after the two ladies took a near instant dislike to each other after Emily entered the villa as a bombshell on day five. Toni's feather's were ruffled when she overheard a conversation between Emily and Irish contestant Conor Phillips, 25. The American bombshell then found a confidant in Shakira Khan, 22, who she shared her frustrations with. But Emily later accused Toni of talking behind her back, while fellow Islander Megan 'Meg' Moore, 25, warned Emily that Toni had branded her "nosey" and "Little Miss Sunshine." An almighty row erupted, with Emily despairing that Toni was "just trying to cause a problem," and "she's f****g nuts." All the drama could be helping generate interest in the long-running show, however. While the 2025 season got off to a low viewership start when it launched on 9 June, the audience then reportedly grew by 1.7 million streams on ITVX after the first episode aired. Some past contestants have started campaigning for the series to be axed, however, and the show has a long history of being tied to the tragic mental health declines of past contestants. This weekend, Malin Andersson, who starred on the show in 2016, voiced her concerns about the way the series is made. She told The Mirror: "It should be axed. When I was on it, we were naive, it felt more organic – still scripted but more authentic. Even then, it wasn't pure, it was full of toxicity. Now millions watch it, especially young people, and their idea of love gets completely skewed." She added: "I felt disposable, like a piece of rubbish tossed aside. In there, you're fighting to be seen, to be a main character, seeking validation. It's not healthy – it creates unrealistic drama and messes up how viewers see love." Love Island has come under fire in the past for failing to support contestant that take part in the series - however, strict after care rules were introduced in 2019 after the deaths of former contestants Sophie Gradon and Mike Thalassitis.
