Anil Kapoor's mother Nirmal Kapoor dies at 90: Karan Johar, Ananya Panday and other pay last respects
Veteran Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor's mother, Nirmal Kapoor, passed away on Friday evening at a private hospital in Mumbai. She was 90 and had been suffering from age-related health issues, PTI reported citing its source. Various actors like Karan Johar and Ananya Pandya from the industry arrived at Kapoor's residence to say her a heartfelt goodbye.
"Nirmal Kapoor ji passed away today at around 5:20 pm due to age-related issues at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. She was admitted to the hospital a few days ago," the report said. Her last rites will be held on Saturday morning at Pawan Hans crematorium.
CEO and Executive Director of Kokilaben Ambani Hospital, Dr Santosh Shetty said Nirmal 'passed away peacefully at the hospital around 5.25 pm today', ANI reported.
On Friday night, several Bollywood biggies, including Raveena Tandon, Ramesh Sippy, Jackie Shroff and other visited the actor's home to pay their last respect.
Nirmal Kapoor was married to film producer Surinder Kapoor, who died in 2011. Known for producing films like Woh Saat Din, Hum Paanch, Loafer, Judaai, and Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai, he was a venerated personality in the industry. Their four children are -- Anil, Reena, Boney and Sanjay and grandchildren include Sonam Kapoor, Rhea, Harshvardhan, Arjun, Janhvi, Khushi and Anshula, Shanaya, Jahaan, and Mohit Marwah.
Anil had put a carousel of heartwarming pictures which comprised one of his childhood with his mother Nirmal on her 90th birthday in September. In another picture, the Kapoor family can be seen taking part in festivities together with Nirmal in the centre. In the post, Anil stated, '90 years of love, strength, and endless sacrifices. Your presence fills our lives with joy and positivity every day. Blessed to be your child. Happy birthday, Mummy!'

An adaptation of Mirza Hadi Ruswa's historical 1899 novel, Umrao Jaan Adaa, the film garnered wide acclaim for its nuanced storytelling, songs and performance by Rekha, who earned her first National Award for her portrayal of Amiran. The film also won the National Award for Best Music Direction, Best Art Direction, and Best Female Playback Singer, as well as three Filmfare awards. Recently, speaking with news agency PTI, filmmaker Muzaffar Ali described the re-release of the Rekha-starrer period drama as a moment of "emotional catharsis." He also said that Umrao Jaan had lost some of its sheen but had come to life in "full flesh and blood" after a restoration. About Priyanka's upcoming projects Priyanka will star in Heads of State alongside Idris Elba and John Cena. Fans will also see Priyanka in the highly anticipated web series Citadel 2. Ezra Milller considers returning to Hollywood after time away from public eye
Washington DC [US], June 23 (ANI): Actor Ezra Miller may be planning a return to Hollywood after staying out of the public eye for nearly two years. Known for the roles in The Flash and Fantastic Beasts, Miller recently appeared at the Cannes Film Festival to support filmmaker Lynne Ramsay. According to Deadline, Miller, while speaking to Italian outlet Lo Speciale Giornale, said they are considering coming back to the film industry "on tentative grounds." The actor shared that Ramsay invited them to Cannes for the premiere of her film Die My Love. "I came to Cannes to support one of my closest friends in the world, who is Lynne Ramsay--who I think is one of the greatest living filmmakers." "I'm working with her again; that will likely be the first thing I do: a film that she and I are writing together," Miller added. Miller admitted that returning to the spotlight was not easy. They called Cannes a "tough re-entry point" and added that they have spent much of their time writing while staying away from public life. "I've been writing a lot, because you can do that in solitude, which has been friendly to me," Miller said. Miller has been involved in several controversies since 2020, including legal issues related to assault, burglary, and allegations of inappropriate behavior. Some of the complaints were later withdrawn or dismissed. Speaking about their past actions, Miller added, "Not that I don't hold a lot of remorse and lamentation for a lot of things I did and a lot of things that happened in that time, but I'm really, really grateful for the lessons that came with that abyss." According to Deadline, last year, a Massachusetts court lifted a temporary harassment order against Miller, which was brought by the mother of a 12-year-old. Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], June 23 (ANI): The much-loved crime drama 'Gangs of Wasseypur' turned 13 on Sunday, June 22. Directed by Anurag Kashyap, the two-part film was released in 2012 and quickly became a cult hit. With its sharp dialogues and powerful performances, it changed the face of Indian cinema. As the film clocked 13 years, actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who rose to fame with his role in the film, took to Instagram to share a special picture with director Anurag Kashyap. The photo shows the two standing near a tree. Nawazuddin stands quietly while Kashyap is seen smoking a cigarette. "Celebrating 13 years of Gangs Of Wasseypur," Nawazuddin wrote in the caption.
