Teachers' body seeks redressal of issues on transfers

Members of Navya Andhra Teachers' Association on Sunday (May 25) urged Commissioner of School Education V. Vijay Rama Raju to address issues pertaining to reapportionment of teaching staff, transfers, subject allocations and teacher promotions.
During a coordination meeting held with the official, the association members put forth their demands. They said the Primary School Head Master (PSHM) post should be allotted to the most senior in-service teachers, dedicated Telugu subject teacher post should be allocated in upper primary schools and teachers who were transferred in 2017 should be granted full eight years of service points.
They also demanded amendments to the G.O. on reapportionment of teaching staff, that the number of teaching periods be capped at 32 in high schools and that the minimum size of a class section be fixed at 45 students. Surplus students should be adjusted before initiating the transfer process.
They said all the posts relating to DSC-2025 should reflect in the teacher transfer process and no post should be blocked. Raising concern over shifting of Zilla Parishad posts to other managements, they said ZP teachers were already suffering due to a lack of service rules and promotion opportunities for over 25 years.
They said that for model primary school headmaster posts, manual counselling should be conducted for only those who explicitly express willingness, and School Assistants who did not wish to opt for HM posts should still be allowed to apply for School Assistant posts during the same counselling.

Hence, MeitY-approved projects set up in the state will receive dual incentive benefits, one from the Central government and another from the state with the Central Government's Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS), Gujarat's GECMS-2025 ensures a 100% top-up on central support and guarantees timely disbursement of once a project receives approval under the ECMS from MeitY, it will automatically become eligible for the same grant-in-aid in Gujarat. The state government will disburse its incentive within 30 days of the Central government releasing its policy will boost investment in key segments such as multi-layer and HDI printed circuit boards, lithium-ion cells, SMD passive components, display and camera modules, electronic parts, and the additional required machinery essential for their production. A core focus of the policy is to bridge the talent gap, promote innovation and offer support for Research and development initiatives. Recognised institutions based in Gujarat will be eligible for assistance of up to ₹12.5 crore from the state government to establish centres of excellence, finishing schools, or applied research laboratories.

Andhra Pradesh Primary Teachers' Association resents allotment of schools in remote areas to low-paid MTS teachers

Members of the Andhra Pradesh Primary Teachers' Association (APPTA) have strongly condemned the allotment of schools in remote areas to Minimum Time Scale (MTS) teachers who are working for very low salaries. In a statement, APPTA State president A.G.S. Ganapathi Rao and State general secretary K. Prakash Rao said many of these teachers were nearing retirement. They pointed out that after the recent promotions and transfers in the School Education Department, several schools, particularly those in remote areas of districts, have been left completely vacant. Teachers who have not yet been relieved from their previous posts are now being instructed to return and work on deputation in those vacant schools. As per the current situation across all districts, many such schools are being managed in this temporary manner until new recruits from the upcoming DSC (District Selection Committee) process join. Presently, schools that have lost all teaching staff are being marked as vacant and allotted to MTS teachers, forcing them to work in remote areas, far from their homes. APPTA leaders appealed to the School Education Commissioner to consider the situation with a humanitarian perspective and instead allot MTS teachers to vacancies closer to their local areas. Referring to the assurance given to them that new teachers will be appointed through the DSC in the first week of August, they urged the School Education Department to revise its current decision and do justice to the MTS teachers. The APPTA leaders said they had made a representation in writing to the HRD Minister Nara Lokesh and the School Education Commissioner Vijay Rama Raju on the issue.

Aimed at transforming Gujarat into a global hub for electronics manufacturing, this new policy brings a significant advantage: projects approved and supported by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, will be eligible for 100 per cent central assistance when established in Gujarat. Hence, MeitY-approved projects set up in the state will receive dual incentive benefits, one from the Central Government and another from the State Government according to a press release. Thoroughly aligned with the Central Government's Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS), Gujarat's GECMS-2025 ensures a 100 per cent top-up on central support and guarantees timely disbursement of assistance. Also, once a project receives approval under the ECMS from MeitY, it will automatically become eligible for the same grant-in-aid in Gujarat.
