Tyreek Hill: We need Jalen Ramsey on the Dolphins, I'm going to try to keep him
The Dolphins are trying to trade cornerback Jalen Ramsey, but Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill thinks it's not too late to keep Ramsey around for this season.
Hill said at Fanatics Fest that he is going to visit with Ramsey and try to persuade him to work out whatever he needs to work out with the Dolphins to stay in Miami.
'I'm going to hang out with Ramsey,' Hill said. 'I'm going to get him back, full-court press, I'm getting him, Ramsey, back in a Dolphins jersey. I don't care what they say — it's tampering, whatever, we need Ramsey. He's a dog. He's one of the best corners in the league, man. Great leader, great teammate too, though. That's what he doesn't get a lot of credit for. We just need him on the Dolphins, man.'
Hill seems to think there's something he can say to Ramsey to convince Ramsey to stay, but whether Ramsey wants to stay or not, the Dolphins appear ready to trade him. So if Hill is going to lobby for Ramsey to remain in Miami, he may have to have some conversations with the Dolphins' front office as well.

Hill was a featured guest at Fanatics Fest in New York City on Saturday with former NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel leading a Q&A. Manziel asked the wideout about trying to keep Ramsey in Miami as the Dolphins and their star cornerback continue to seek a trade partner. "Definitely don't want to rule anything out because we're always open-minded to onboarding and acquiring quality players and people like him if we're able to do that," McVay said, "but there would be some obstacles that are real that are in the place of maybe preventing that from occurring." One of the most notable obstacles may be Ramsey's three-year, $72.3 million extension that he with the Dolphins ahead of the 2024 NFL season and runs through 2028. According to the contract comes with a $16.7 million cap hit in 2025 and grows each year: $25 million in 2026, $26.8 million in 2027 and $36.2 in 2028. Ramsey, 30, initially joined the Dolphins in 2023 after the Rams traded him for tight end Hunter Long and a third-round pick in that year's draft. The three-time All-Pro cornerback tore his meniscus in his first training camp with Miami but re-joined the active roster ahead of Week 8. He recorded an interception in his first game with the team. Since then, Ramsey has started in all 27 games he's appeared in with Miami. In the last two seasons, he's recorded 82 tackles, 16 pass defenses, five interceptions and a sack.
