Following his removal as the MK Party secretary-general, Floyd Shivambu has announced on social media that he will be holding a media briefing to 'tell the truth and expose lies whenever they are told.'
A high-stakes briefing is set to take place in Johannesburg on Thursday, fuelling intense speculation about its agenda.
Reports indicate that Shivambu may be considering his resignation and the potential establishment of a new political party.
In a post on X, Shivambu cited Amilcar Cabral's quote: "Hide nothing from the masses of our people. Tell no lies. Expose lies whenever they are told. Mask no difficulties, mistakes, failures. Claim no easy victories.'.
'It's our DNA to speak the truth because the truth is Revolutionary'.
The statement has generated interest, leaving many eager to see what Shivambu will reveal on Thursday.
Weighing in on this, political analyst Professor Sipho Seepe, said it's difficult to say what Shivambu is going to say in his briefing.
According to Seepe, Shivambu will use this to put his side of the story since his removal.
'When you are removed from a position, the reasons are not given out clearly, which leads to a lot of speculation,' he said.

Seepe said, 'The quote Shivambu used in the tweet is an interesting one because those critical issues, 'tell no lies, claim no easy victories' are missing in his case.'
He described the former EFF deputy president as a 'serious political player' regardless of party affiliation or party position.
'By calling a press conference, he is showing that he is not lost in the political terrain,' he said.
Shivambu was removed from his position earlier this month after his trip to Malawi to attend a church service led by a fugitive pastor, Shepherd Bushiri.
According to the party, this was the catalyst for his dismissal.
However, last week, it emerged that the real reason behind the decision was that Shivambu was rude and disrespectful to his fellow members.
The party did not want to respond to any questions related to the matter.

On Saturday, Colleen Makhubele, the MK Party's chief whip, announced that the new members will be sworn in on Wednesday in the Speaker's Boardroom in the Parliament of South Africa. The incoming MPs are Mr Lungisani Graduate Shangase, Mr Jeffrey Bhekumndeni Mtolo, Mr Zibuse Khayelihle Abednego Cele, Mr Siphetho Witness Mkhize, Ms Philisande Mkhize, Mr Gift Motaung, Ms Noma Buthelezi, Ms Ntandoyenkosi Nkosentsha Shezi, and Ms Khanyisile Litchfield According to the MK party, these individuals bring diverse experience and dedication, poised to bolster the party's efforts to serve South Africans and uphold the core values of democracy, equality, and justice. In removing Shivambu from his position as the party's SG, the MK party cited Shivambu's unauthorised visit to Prophet Shepherd Bushiri in Malawi as a breach of party protocol. However, Shivambu dismissed the party's reasons, claiming he was demoted because he had questioned the embezzlement of R7 million from the party's funds. 'I was redeployed for daring to speak out against corruption within the party. Despite this, I remain committed to serving the people and will not leave the MK party.' 'I am exploring the possibility of forming a new political entity that reflects our shared values," Shivambu stated during the briefing. He further indicated that he would proceed with the potential formation of a new political platform, emphasising that his actions are motivated by a desire to promote transparency and accountability in South African politics.
