Govt plans industrial parks in every constituency
Hyderabad: In an effort to further industrialize Telangana, State IT and Industries Minister Sridhar Babu announced that industrial parks adhering to international standards will be established in every constituency. These parks will focus on promoting the establishment of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), with a particular emphasis on encouraging young entrepreneurs from Telangana.
On Tuesday, Minister Sridhar Babu laid the foundation stone for the 'Mobility Valley Park,' to be developed under the aegis of TGIIC at Yenkathla village in Mominpetmandal in Vikarabad district, with an investment of Rs44.3 crore.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the park, spread over 862 acres, is expected to generate employment for nearly 10,000 youth. He emphasized that industrial development should not be confined to Hyderabad alone and that the government is actively encouraging industrialists to invest across various regions of the state.
The government remains fully committed to supporting MSMEs and has introduced a dedicated policy aimed at strengthening this sector.
Sridhar Babu also addressed ongoing misinformation campaigns against the government, stating that while many industrialists are showing interest in investing in Telangana, some vested interests are deliberately spreading false propaganda. He urged such elements to refrain from obstructing the State's progress. The event was attended by Speaker Prasad Kumar, Chevella MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, MLC Mahender Reddy, MLAs Rammohan Reddy, Manohar Reddy and TGIIC Chairperson Nirmala Jagga Reddy, among others.

"The real estate sector registered a 15.4% growth in 2024-25, while the construction sector alone contributed 11.97%, adding nearly 80,000 crore to the state's economy," he said. He also noted that in February 2025, 5,900 property registrations were recorded, with 18% of the registered properties priced above Rs 1 crore. Year-on-year transactional growth stood at 6%. The Times Home Hunt Property Expo featured residential and commercial projects from 35 developers across Hyderabad, showcasing around 100 real estate projects focused on smart homes, gated communities, and wellness-oriented townships. 3,000 visitors on first day The two-day expo, which concludes on Sunday, recorded around 3,000 visitors on its opening day. Overall, the event is expected to attract nearly 5,000 footfalls across both days. Entry is free for all homebuyers at the Hitex Exhibition Center. The event is presented by Aparna Constructions, with powered sponsorship from Ramky Estates, My Home Group, and Candeur Constructions. It is held in association with Auro, SRIAS, R-One, and ASBL, while Union Bank of India serves as the official banking partner. Sridhar Babu cautioned homebuyers to remain vigilant due to a rise in property scams. He urged them to verify RERA, HMDA and other approvals, and to carry out background checks on developers before making investments. He recommended that buyers register properties only through the Build Now portal, an initiative by the state govt to streamline approvals and ensure accountability and transparency in the real estate process.

TG to counter Banakacharla with Tummidhetti project
Hyderabad: Amid the fresh row over the Banakacharla project between AP and Telangana; the Telangana government is bracing to expedite the construction of the much-delayed Tummidihetti project to counter the Andhra Pradesh government's preemptive move to develop the controversial multi-crore Godavari-Banakacharla project. A delegation led by TG Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has already informed Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil about the government's decision to take up the Tummidihetti during the meeting held in New Delhi on Thursday. As a report of the Central Water Commission (CWC) already established the availability of adequate water for a project at Tummidihetti on Godavari, the State Irrigation wing came up with a proposal to utilize 180 TMC of water by constructing the Tummidihetti project. High-ranking official sources said that the irrigation officials were already engrossed in the preparation of the detailed project report (DPR) afresh for the project for submission to the Centre soon. It may be mentioned here that the previous government had submitted a DPR to the CWS in May 2023 (before the Assembly elections in Telangana). Under the project, the then government proposed to establish a barrage across Pranahita river, a tributary of Godavari, at Tummidihetti village in Koutala mandal of Adilabad district. The main objective of the project is to provide irrigation facilities for an ayacut of 2 lakh acres in the erstwhile Adilabad district. Following regime change, the Congress government announced the revival of the Pranahita–Chevella project by constructing a barrage at Tummidihetti. 'State government decided to prepare a new DPR to utilize more than 180 TMC of water through the Tummidihetti project. The project will help Telangana utilize Godavari water. With the AP government hastening the approval process for Banakacharla and in view of the Centre's full support to the project, the Telangana government decided to mount pressure on the Centre for approval to the Tummidihetti also,' officials said, adding that Telangana had adopted a strategy to seek justice from the Centre by approving Tummihetti just as the Banakacharla project received all support. Should the Centre fail to clear the Tummidihetti project, the Telangana government would expose the double standard adopted by the Union government in approving Telangana projects on Godavari. The Chief Minister is keen to make Tummidhetti a big issue and seek central assistance for the project. Once the Tummidihetti project is approved, the abandoned Pranahita-Chevella project will come alive. Officials said that the relevant DPR would be prepared afresh and submitted to the Centre in two or three months.
