Importantly, a new streamlined system for passenger entry into the country's airports is now live — designed to match evolving conditions on the ground while keeping things efficient and stress-free for travellers.
According to a WAM report, the ICP thanked passengers for their patience and understanding, and reiterated its dedication to their security. 'These actions reflect the UAE's authentic values, proactive service standards, and world-class crisis and emergency management plans,' it said, reaffirming that safety and service will always remain top priorities.

Arjun Raj, a Dubai-based real estate executive, had been preparing for his wedding in Chennai, in the southern Indian state of Tami Nadu, this July. With the dates fixed and his sister's family ready to accompany him, all that was left was the final go-ahead for his annual leave. He hadn't yet booked the flight tickets, but Air India's AI906 was his preferred option. The timing was perfect for the family. 'I was just waiting for my leave approval,' said Arjun. 'Thank God we didn't book. It's not just any leave, it's my wedding. And now, this cancellation... I didn't expect it at all.' The flight was AI906 from Dubai to Chennai and was among the services cancelled by Air India as the airline grapples with widespread operational challenges and enhanced safety inspections. The airline has pulled back 15 percent of its international widebody operations, citing the need to stabilise services and reduce disruptions. Arjun Raj needed five tickets in total. 'Airfares are already skyrocketing, and with these cancellations, the seat availability has dipped further. If I had booked earlier, I would be scrambling now. But finding seats for five people on another airline, and at this short notice, is not going to be easy,' he said. Arjun had a narrow escape, but another resident of Dubai, Imran Shaikh, was not so lucky. Imran, a 32-year-old engineer from Gulbarga, in the southern Indian state of Karnataka, and living in Dubai, had booked an Air India ticket to Hyderabad weeks ago. He was set to fly on AI2204 in mid-July, paying Dh680 for a seat. Now, with the same flight cancelled and fares rising rapidly, he finds himself in an unexpected bind. 'I just checked today, the ticket prices to Hyderabad for that same date are now over Dh980,' he said. 'And they are only going up. The longer I wait, the harder it will be to find a reasonable deal.' However, he has not received a confirmation email or a message of cancellation yet. 'I haven't received any message or notification from the airline yet,' Imran said. 'I am currently monitoring the situation and not canceling from my side.'

UK announces charter flights from Tel Aviv for British nationals fleeing Israel
The UK is working to charter flights to evacuate British nationals from Israel, Foreign Secretary David Lammy said on Friday, days after other major European countries began their own evacuations. Thousands of foreign nationals have been fleeing Israel and Iran across borders into neighbouring countries, after the escalating conflict led to the closure of airspaces in both countries. The UK government told its nationals requiring evacuation from Israel to register at the British embassy. But many have already travelled to the Jordanian and Egyptian borders. Mr Lammy said the UK government would provide flights directly out of Tel Aviv once the airspace opened. The city's airport has been closed since the strikes began last week. 'As part of our efforts to support British nationals in the Middle East, the government is working with the Israeli authorities to provide charter flights from Tel Aviv airport when airspace reopens, based on levels of demand from British nationals,' he said. 'British nationals should register their presence in Israel and the [occupied Palestinian territories] to be contacted with further guidance on these flights.' Mr Lammy added: 'Land routes out of Israel remain open and UK staff are on hand to support British nationals who have crossed the border. This will include providing, transport – subject to demand – to nearby airports for onward commercial flights.' Frustration with the UK grew when the United States announced its plans to evacuate citizens on charter flights and cruise ships on Wednesday. Australia evacuated 1,200 people from Israel on Wednesday, its foreign minister Penny Wong said. Around 2,000 Australians in Iran had registered for assistance. France was providing buses for its nationals in Israel from the Jordanian border to a flight chartered from Amman, and a convoy will take people from Iran to the Turkish or Armenian borders by the end of the week. Germany provided a charter flight from Amman for 345 citizens on Wednesday.
