THE BOYZ member Ju Haknyeon faced severe repercussions for meeting former Japanese AV actress Kirara Asuka at a club in Tokyo. It prompted his agency, ONE HUNDRED, to unilaterally terminate his contract and remove him from the group. Recent developments include allegations of him sneaking out before a group schedule to meet Asuka, as reported by Dispatch on June 21.
Did Ju Haknyeon meet Kirara Asuka without the knowledge of his agency?
Ju Haknyeon reportedly visited a bar until around 1 AM with a male Korean designer. It was allegedly followed by a 2-hour session at a karaoke bar and a private lounge party at 4 AM, where they were joined by ex-p*rnstar Kirara Asuka and three other Japanese women. The party wrapped up around 6 AM, after which Ju Haknyeon and Kirara Asuka took a taxi to her residence.
Ju Haknyeon later returned to his hotel that afternoon, before THE BOYZ's overseas schedule. All this was done without the agency or the member's prior notice.
Did ONE HUNDRED have valid reasons for terminating contract with Ju Haknyeon?
According to Dispatch, they did, as the agency confirmed that Ju Haknyeon's contract was terminated based on the artitst's actions substantially harming the company's reputation. The defamatory actions are as follows:
Ju Haknyeon's "unreported absence from his hotel during his overseas schedule."
Ju Haknyeon being spotted by Japanese tabloid Shūkan Bunshun, embracing Kirara Asuka on the streets of Roppongi before heading to her house in a taxi.
Him lying to her agency about being having paid s*x with Kirara Asuka.
According to the statement of a representative of THE BOYZ to Dispatch, Ju Hak Nyeon said, "I did not pay for anything. Hyungs (older males) paid. I don't want any of this to damage the other members." The agency representative further commented, "Ju Haknyeon did not return to his hotel that night. I asked him where he went, and he said that he went to Kirara Asuka's house. He boasted that he slept with her."
However, later, calling the company's decision "unfair", he allegedly "went back on his words. He said that he didn't actually sleep with Asuka Kirara, just lied about it to look good.'

Air India Flight 182: Canada identifies key suspect after 40 years

Toronto: Nearly 40 years after the bombing of Air India flight 182, the Kanishka, by pro-Khalistan extremists, Canadian law enforcement has finally identified a mysterious suspect who was linked to the terror attack. However, in another milestone in the travesty of an investigation, police have refused to name that person, who will never face charges as he is now dead. A Canadian flag in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. (Bloomberg) The outlet Vancouver Sun reported on Friday that the suspect who know as Mr X has been identified by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police or RCMP investigators. However, RCMP's Assistant Commissioner David Teboul told the outlet that privacy laws prevented them from identifying the person who was with mastermind Talwinder Singh Parmar and bomb-maker Inderjit Singh Reyat when they tested an explosive in the woods in Duncan, British Columbia, prior to the attack. While the RCMP has maintained that the investigation into the Khalistani terror attack remains ongoing, Teboul conceded 'there's very little realistic chance of seeing this matter go to another trial.' This adds another footnote to the inglorious blundering of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service or CSIS, which did little to prevent the attack and in fact destroyed evidence, and the RCMP, which could only secure a single conviction, that of Reyat, in what remains the worst incident of terror in Canadian history. On June 23, 1985, the Kanishka exploded off the coast of Ireland due to a bomb planted there. Police have yet to even identify the person who booked the luggage with the incendiary device on to that flight and a second Air India flight. The second bomb claimed the lives of two Japanese baggage handlers at Narita Airport, bringing the total deaths in the terror plot to 331. Reacting to the identification of Mr X, former West Vancouver police chief Kash Heed said, 'This is the disdain I have for how this investigation has unfolded over the last 40 years. It adds to the frustration that the families and communities have gone through.' He asked, 'Would the treatment have been the same if the skin colour of the victims had been different? Do we still have information under wraps?' As to the statement that of there being another trial, Heed, also a former Solicitor General in British Columbia, said, 'From my perspective, you will see very limited resources ever applied to the investigation again.' Teboul was part of a Canadian delegation to Ahakista in Ireland where the first memorial to the terror attack was established in 1986. That official delegation is being led by Minister of Public Safety Gary Anandasangaree. Irish Taoiseach or PM Micheál Martin will lead a service at the memorial on the anniversary on Monday and Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri will be present, leading an Indian delegation. Retired Supreme Court Justice John Major headed a Commission of Inquiry into the tragedy. In his report, submitted in 2010, he wrote, 'This remains the largest mass murder in Canadian history, and was the result of a cascading series of errors.' As Edmonton-based Meera Nair, who lost friends in the tragedy, commented, 'What does it say about our values, that our worst brush with terrorism, the bombing of Air India Flight 182 on 23 June 1985 with the loss of all 329 people aboard, was allowed to happen? India had provided evidence of impending terrorism by Khalistani-extremists and had identified AI 182 as a target. But Indian concerns were crassly dismissed. That act of terrorism was our national introduction to Khalistan.' As the Canadian establishment including its media continue to normalise the movement responsible for the country's worst terror attack, it remains evident few lessons have been learnt in the country where the mastermind lived, planned and operationalised it.

‘Bollywood and India inspire me': French designer Mossi Traoré

Mossi Traoré, the famous French fashion designer, believes in the idea of 'everyday couture". Each of his ready-to-wear creations, whether a blouse or a dress, come sublimated with couture detailing, be it the draping, the embroidery or the fabric. It's an idea that the designer, who launched his Mossi label in 2017, is promoting through his fashion school, Les Ateliers d'Alix, as well. Traoré opened the school in 2015 as a way to empower the underprivileged, enabling students to master rarefied haute couture skills. It's located in Hautes-Noues, an impoverished Parisian suburb where Traoré grew up. He was recently in India as part of the Ashoka University's Lodha Genius Programme, an initiative that brings global changemakers to the campus to inspire young minds. Also read: How to elevate your office look with the necktie In an interview with Lounge, Traoré talks about how India inspires his work, following eco-friendly practices while designing and the future of fashion. Edited excerpts: At the Parisian school Mod'Art International, you learnt how to make clothes with an Indian seamstress and an African maker. How did the experience shape? These experiences have been very formative and have been part of my apprenticeship. They have reinforced my determination and my choice to be a designer open to the world and to the diversity of cultures. India and Africa are among the cultures that are very dear to my heart. In 2015, you founded your own school, Les Ateliers d'Alix, a name that pays homage to French couturier Madame Grès… Madame Grès and Yohji Yamamoto are my two greatest sources of inspiration in fashion. Madame Grès made me love couture excellence. Fashion is an art, and Madame Grès is its mirror. Rigour, passion, the quest for eternal perfection—that's what Madame Grès inspires in me. You launched your own eponymous brand Mossi, in 2017. Do you see fashion as an applied art form? Art is a tree with many branches, and I've grabbed the fashion one while having fun with the others. My work revolves around four words: fashion, art, crafts and the world. Your school signed a partnership with Chanel last year. Would you consider it a key milestone? Yes, this is a very important step, because it shows today that one of the biggest haute couture houses was sensitive to the quality of our training, but above all to the technical skills of our students to meet their needs and those of the industry. You won the Pierre Bergé Prize in 2020, and you presented your collection as an artistic performance with dancers, one of your biggest inspirations… I love movement, which translates into many artistic currents and forms, including dance, which is one of my favorite artistic mediums. Which artists inspire you the most? Korean artist Lee Bul is my fountain of inspiration. I'm also fond of the Korean artist Lee Bae for his world and his artistic expression. Calligrapher Hassan Massoudy and his art of movement. The textile sculptor Simone Pheulpin, the talented Ibrahim Ballo fascinate me. And above all, Bollywood actors. Has India ever inspired your moodboard? India has always inspired me and will always inspire me. Your advice to young designers? Not to be afraid to be curious, and to encourage collaborations that unite people around values they can relate to themselves. How challenging is it for a young creative to start a label in today's challenging times? The context is not the most favourable: competition is fierce and the sector is less dynamic. Without substantial resources, it's very difficult to survive in this industry. However, the fashion sector has its doubts, and needs to reinvent itself in certain areas—and that's an excellent opportunity for the new generation to come up with new ideas. You've always rooted for social justice and sustainability through your work… I believe that fashion can contribute to providing solutions to make our world a better place. I want to embody fashion that has a positive social impact on the public and on local areas. Two great social entrepreneurs, Ali Benat and Leila Janah, who are of Indian origin, have confirmed me on this path. Can fashion ever be sustainable? It must try to be.
