Officials told to distribute school kits to children

Vijayawada: Samagra Shiksha state project director of B Srinivasa Rao asked the officials to immediately distribute to student the kits under the prestigious 'Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Vidyarthi Mitra' scheme. He said the school kits should be transported from mandal points to the respective government, ZP and municipal schools.
He said in a statement on Tuesday that in the first phase, textbooks, notebooks and dictionaries have already been distributed to students, and instructions had been previously issued to distribute the remaining items as soon as they reach 100 per cent at the mandal points.
He reiterated that the school bags, uniform cloth, shoes, socks and belts that have already reached the mandals should be distributed without delay. He said the mandal education officers (MEOs) should ensure delivery of kits at the earliest. He added that headmasters must create awareness among students to get their uniforms stitched promptly.
A video explaining the procedure for getting uniforms stitched has already been shared at the field level, he informed. Srinivasa Rao urged headmasters to ensure that students attend the upcoming Mega Parent-Teacher Meeting (Mega PTM) scheduled for first week of July wearing the new uniforms.
In order to expedite this process, district education officers (DEOs) and additional project coordinators (APCs) must issue clear instructions to all MEOs and headmasters, he said.

8,583 students allotted seats in second phase free admissions in private schools in A.P.

Srinivasa Rao on Friday said 8,583 students had been selected in the second and final phase of lottery conducted to select students for free admissions under clause 12 (1) (C) of the Right to Education (RTE) Act in private unaided schools across the State for the academic year 2025-26. In a statement, Mr. Rao said information about the selected students will be sent via SMS to the mobile numbers of the parents, and it will also be made available on the website The students who were allotted seats must visit their respective schools with valid documents between June 21 and 28 to confirm their admissions. Second round lottery results for free admissions under RTE to be released on June 20

The final list of selected students in the second round of the lottery process for free admissions under the 25% reservation in private schools for the academic year 2025–26, as mandated by the Right to Education (RTE) Act, will be released on Friday (June 20). In a statement on Thursday (June 19), State Project Director of Samagra Shiksha B. Srinivasa Rao said applications for Class 1 admissions were accepted from May 2 to May 19. A total of 37,427 children registered, out of which 28,561 were found eligible through a verification process conducted during the first round. Of them, 23,118 students were allotted seats in the first round of the lottery, said Mr. Srinivasa Rao, adding that that 15,541 students had joined the allotted schools. The remaining students have now been selected through a fresh lottery process. Information regarding the selected candidates will be sent via SMS to the registered mobile numbers of the parents. The complete list of selected students will be made available on June 20 on Mr. Srinivasa Rao said parents of selected students must visit the respective allotted schools with the required documents and confirm the admission by June 30.
