Jam band Goose parts ways with percussionist Jeff Arevalo ahead of new album release

Express Tribune24-03-2025

Jam band Goose has officially ended its professional relationship with percussionist and multi-instrumentalist Jeff Arevalo, citing concerns over personal conduct.
The decision was announced via the band's Instagram page and follows Arevalo's earlier announcement in February that he would be stepping away from touring to focus on 'mental health and personal issues.'
While Goose did not disclose specific allegations, their statement read: 'We have been made aware of behavior in Jeff's personal life that does not align with the band's core values. As a result, Jeff will no longer be a part of the Goose organization.'
The band added, 'This is an incredibly unfortunate, unexpected situation, and we did not anticipate having to make another painful change to the band. However, it is clear that this is the only way forward as we remain committed to upholding the values that define our community, particularly when it comes to respecting others and creating a safe environment.'
The announcement comes just ahead of the band's anticipated album Everything Must Go, which is set to release next month. Goose previously underwent a lineup change when original drummer Ben Atkind departed and was replaced by Cotter Ellis.
Jeff Arevalo joined Goose in 2020 and played a key role as a percussionist. He occasionally contributed guitar and vocals, notably leading the band's rendition of The Clash's 'Rock the Casbah.' He was also a founding member of the acoustic side project Orebelo, alongside Rick Mitarotonda and Peter Anspach.
Goose is now comprised of Mitarotonda (guitar/vocals), Anspach (keys/vocals), Trevor Weekz (bass), and Ellis (drums/vocals). The band has expressed renewed inspiration moving forward as a quartet.

Cardi B's 'Outside' tops Apple Music as Offset drama intensifies

Cardi B's latest single 'Outside' has soared to the top of the U.S. Apple Music chart, according to ChartData, following its official release on Friday. The track had already sparked buzz online after snippets leaked weeks prior. On the song, Cardi delivers a scathing diss aimed at her estranged husband, Offset. Lyrics like 'They gon' f--- on anything, these n----- way too easy… Next time you see your momma, tell her how she raised a b*tch,' have fueled speculation about the depth of their personal rift. Cardi later admitted she originally had no plans to release the song, telling fans, 'I made this song a few months ago when I was very, very angry.' The single's success comes amid her new relationship with New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs. Though rumors of the romance circulated for months, the pair only went Instagram official last month. Afterward, Offset posted a cryptic message on X: 'Good roll out n PR. Today I pass.' Tensions escalated further when Diggs appeared at Patriots practice sporting matching braids with Offset's son, Wave. Offset responded furiously, posting: 'Now when somebody die for playing with my son then call me the crash out,' before deactivating his social media. As 'Outside' climbs charts and fans await Cardi's sophomore album, the public fallout with Offset and her high-profile romance with Diggs continue to dominate headlines.

David Beckham's garden carrot leaves Victoria ‘embarrassed' in funny home video

Sir David Beckham left his wife Victoria in fits of laughter after sharing a light-hearted video from their Cotswolds garden. The 50-year-old former England captain filmed himself harvesting a carrot from his home vegetable patch while being filmed by Victoria. 'I really hope it's good,' David said as he crouched beside the garden bed, clearing away soil with anticipation. But the excitement quickly turned to humour as he pulled up a small carrot with twisted roots. Victoria, filming the moment, burst into laughter, exclaiming, 'That's so disappointing,' and added, 'Omg that's embarrassing.' Posting the moment on Instagram, David captioned the video: 'Exciting day today in my veggie garden, CARROTS, but not exactly what I expected.' Fans reacted warmly in the comments. The Beckhams have gradually transformed their £12 million Cotswolds estate into a rural retreat, featuring a lake, bee hives, a greenhouse, an outdoor sauna, and multiple garden patches. David's passion for outdoor living was also noted in his Netflix documentary, where he shared his love for his 'country get-up.'

Hailey Bieber shuts down divorce rumours on social media as Justin shares emotional posts

Hailey Bieber has subtly shut down growing speculation about her marriage by sharing a selfie on Instagram showing her wearing her wedding ring. The post arrives amid rumours of a possible split from husband Justin Bieber, fuelled by her recent public appearances without the ring. Reports surfaced after Hailey was allegedly seen without the band during outings in New York, including nights out with Camila Morrone and Suki Waterhouse. However, the model's latest Instagram Story appears to dismiss those claims. Dressed in a black top and polka-dot trousers, with dark sunglasses and a handbag in tow, Hailey's ring is clearly visible on her left hand. Photo: Instagram While Hailey responded quietly, Justin Bieber took a more expressive approach on social media. The singer shared a series of monochrome selfies featuring his new nose pin, set to music including 'I Believe I Can Fly' by R. Kelly and 'Me Vs Me' by Moneybagg Yo. He also reposted messages that appeared to reflect his mindset. One read: 'Not everybody hates you, just a lot of people do… People in Tasmania don't hate you. But that's just because they don't know you.' Another added, 'You is jealous, envious, you trying to be me, around me.' The posts come after a public altercation with paparazzi outside Soho House in Malibu and a follow-up admission from Bieber that he had ended a friendship after being accused of 'lashing out.'
