2 No-Brainer, High-Yield Stocks to Buy With $2,000 Right Now
The S&P 500 index (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC) is trading near all-time highs and has a pretty miserly 1.2% or so dividend yield. If you are an income investor, that suggests that you have your work cut out for you right now. But there are great investment options with high yields out there if you take the time to look. Two no-brainer choices today, if you have $2,000 or $20,000 to invest, are Brookfield Renewable (NYSE: BEP)(NYSE: BEPC) and Chevron (NYSE: CVX). Here's what you need to know. Brookfield Renewable is positioned to grow Brookfield Renewable owns a globally diversified portfolio of clean energy assets. On the geographic front, its portfolio spans across North America, South America, Europe, and Asia. On the technology front, the business has exposure to hydroelectric, solar, wind, energy storage, and nuclear power assets. It is as close to a one-stop shop as you can get in the renewable energy space. Where to invest $1,000 right now? Our analyst team just revealed what they believe are the 10 best stocks to buy right now. Learn More » The interesting thing here, however, is that Brookfield Renewable is not a regulated utility. It largely sells its power under long-term contracts to others, including both companies and utilities. This actually gives it a lot of room to grow as the world increasingly shifts from carbon-based fuels toward cleaner alternatives. For example, it recently inked a deal with Microsoft to provide around 10.5 gigawatts of power that the technology giant will use to support its data center build-out. Basically, Brookfield Renewable can grow as it sees fit without having to kowtow to regulators who may put limits on its investment plans. And this brings up another interesting fact: Brookfield Renewable is run by Brookfield Asset Management (NYSE: BAM). Brookfield Asset Management has an over-100-year history of investing in infrastructure on a global scale. And it plans to increase its clean-energy investments, where Brookfield Renewable is a key source of funding, by around 100% by 2030. Buying Brookfield Renewable lets you partner with Brookfield Asset Management on that growth. There are two ways to buy in here. Brookfield Renewable Partners has a 5.6% yield. Brookfield Renewable Corporation has a 4.6% dividend yield. Both represent the exact same entity and have the exact same dividend payment. The yield difference is because demand for the corporate share class is higher, which makes sense given that large institutional investors are often barred from owning partnerships. Either way you go, Brookfield Renewable appears well positioned to expand its business as the world goes green. And you can collect a fat yield that has been regularly increased if you buy in right now. A $2,000 investment will get you 75 shares of the partnership units and 60 shares of the corporate shares. Chevron is out of favor for two reasons Chevron is a globally diversified, integrated energy giant offering an attractive 4.7% dividend yield. The dividend has been increased for an incredible 38 consecutive years. That's incredible because oil and natural gas prices tend to be highly volatile, which means that Chevron's top and bottom lines tend to be volatile, too. However, Chevron has an ace up its sleeve in the form of a strong balance sheet. A low level of leverage allows it to take on debt during industry downturns so it can continue to support its business and dividend. When oil prices recover, as they always have historically, it pays down debt in preparation for the next downturn. In addition to this rock-solid financial foundation, Chevron's diversified business also helps. With investments in energy production (the upstream), energy transportation (the midstream), and energy processing (the downstream), the peaks and valleys of oil prices get muted to some degree. That said, Chevron is out of favor right now, which has led to the lofty yield. Part of the reason for that is generally weak energy prices. Those low prices are impacting the entire energy sector. But Chevron also has some company-specific issues. First, it is attempting to buy Hess, but the process has turned out to be more complicated than hoped. Second, Chevron has investments in Venezuela, a tenuous country in which to invest. Those assets have become a bit of a political football. Neither of these things is good, but they aren't likely to derail Chevron over the long term. The currently high yield is an opportunity for investors who can think long term. You may have to suffer through some near-term lagging performance, but if you buy now, you'll get paid well for waiting around. A $2,000 investment in Chevron will get you around 13 shares. Looking for yield, start with this pair of high yielders With lofty yields, Brookfield Renewable and Chevron should both be attractive to dividend investors. But the real key to the story here is that both have strong businesses to support those dividends. If you think in decades and not days, these two high-yield stocks could be no-brainer additions to your portfolio right now. Should you invest $1,000 in Brookfield Renewable right now? Before you buy stock in Brookfield Renewable, consider this: The Motley Fool Stock Advisor analyst team just identified what they believe are the 10 best stocks for investors to buy now… and Brookfield Renewable wasn't one of them. AEM's Reserve Growth Spurs Confidence: Can It Keep Drilling Success?
Agnico Eagle Mines Limited AEM made substantial efforts in the first quarter for the continuation of its mineral reserve replacement, a critical metric reflecting growth potential. At the end of 2024, AEM boosted its proven and probable gold reserves by 0.9% year over year to 54.3 million ounces. More notably, inferred mineral resources expanded around 9% to 36.2 million ounces, thanks to successful exploration drilling at Detour Lake, East Gouldie, Hope Bay, Meliadine, Fosterville and Macassa. Year-end expansion set a strong foundation, and the first quarter of 2025 saw further progress as drilling campaigns advanced key projects. During the quarter, AEM continued exploration drilling to extend the East Gouldie deposit at Canadian Malartic to the east and extend the newly discovered Eclipse zone. Underground conversion drilling into the upper eastern extension of the East Gouldie deposit also indicated potential to add mineral resources and mineral reserves to East Gouldie by the end of 2025. At Hope Bay, shallow drilling at Patch 7 also suggests the potential for mineral resource expansion. Drilling at the Marban deposit, added through the acquisition of O3 Mining, also focuses on mineral reserve and mineral resource expansion. Agnico Eagle's initiatives in expanding its reserve base and inferred resources position it as a growth-oriented player among major peers. Maintaining drilling pace and converting potential into formally declared reserves through 2025 will be key, as it constitutes a critical barometer for long-term growth. Among its peers, Newmont Corporation NEM logged gold reserves of 134.1 million attributable ounces at the end of 2024 (including assets held for sale), a 1.3% decline from 135.9 million attributable ounces a year ago, weighed down by depletion and unfavorable revisions. Newmont's go-forward Tier 1 portfolio included 125.5 million attributable gold ounces. While Newmont's overall reserve base remains substantial, the lack of growth raises red flags. Barrick Mining Corporation B reported robust growth in reserves, with its proven and probable gold mineral reserves climbing approximately 17.4 million ounces in 2024, a clear sign of strong reserve replacement. Barrick's attributable proven and probable mineral reserves were at 89 million ounces at the end of 2024, up from 77 million ounces a year ago. Barrick demonstrates proactive exploration and conversions, insulating its reserve profile from near-term production drawdowns. The Zacks Rundown for AEM Agnico Eagle's shares have rallied 56.8% year to date against the Zacks Mining – Gold industry's rise of 56.4%, driven by the record-setting upside in gold prices. From a valuation standpoint, AEM is currently trading at a forward 12-month earnings multiple of 20.27, a roughly 42.6% premium to the industry average of 14.21X. It carries a Value Score of C. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for AEM's 2025 and 2026 earnings implies a year-over-year rise of 42.6% and 0.8%, respectively. The EPS estimates for 2025 and 2026 have been trending higher over the past 60 days. AEM stock currently carries a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold). Gold Finder Commences Fieldwork at Pipestone Bay Property in Ontario's Red Lake Gold District
Vancouver, British Columbia--(Newsfile Corp. - June 19, 2025) - Gold Finder Resources Ltd. (TSXV: GLD) (OTCQB: GLDFF) ("Gold Finder" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that fieldwork is underway at its 100%-owned Pipestone Bay property (the "Property") located approximately 32 kilometres west of the town of Red Lake (see area claim map). Emerald Geological Services conducted a review of all historical exploration on the Property to determine areas where untested targets warrant further exploration. Significant historical work has been conducted in two areas of the Property: the 991 Zone (also known as the NW Pipestone Bay Occurrence) in the eastern part of the Property, and the western part of the Property where there are two known gold occurrences (McIntosh Lake Iron Formation and Stupak-Dynes Group Occurrences). Figure 1 shows gold occurrences on the Property on a background of property geology (OGS Map 4594). Figure 1 To view an enhanced version of this graphic, please visit: The 991 Zone Previous work has shown that there are at least two styles of gold mineralization at the 991 Zone: 1) High-grade (up to 44.9 g/t Au) hosted in roughly N-S striking quartz veins (Figure 2). 2) Low-grade (in the low 100s of ppb) hosted in altered felsic volcanics which strike roughly east-west and dip north, with a copper association (including 0.23% Cu over 5.5 meters in drilling). To date, only the low-grade gold mineralization has been tested by north-south drilling, which would not have adequately tested the north-south high-grade veins. The mineralized felsic unit hosting the veins remains open to the west-northwest and east-southeast beneath the lake, and IP suggests that mineralization may continue in either direction. There is also potential for nickel and chromium mineralization in the ultramafic unit to the north, as indicated by 2019 grab samples which returned 0.21% Ni and 0.21% Cr. Figure 2 To view an enhanced version of this graphic, please visit: Pipestone West Area This area hosts both gold and copper mineralization. Anomalous gold (up to 730 ppb) has been discovered in banded iron formation, altered mafic volcanics, and quartz veins, with copper grades up to 3.25% also obtained in altered mafic volcanics. The 2020 airborne magnetic survey suggests that the banded iron formations are strongly folded, with the most prospective area to date being the southwest limb of the fold close to a mafic/intermediate volcanic-felsic volcanic contact (Figure 3). Folded banded iron formations are excellent targets for gold exploration, as they represent structural and chemical traps for gold-bearing fluids. The mafic-felsic volcanic contact may also be an important conduit for gold-bearing fluids. From past records, anomalous gold mineralization has been obtained over a trend of approximately 1 kilometre near this contact. Figure 3 "The Pipestone Bay property shares many features common to gold deposits in the Red Lake Greenstone Belt, including silicification, sericite, biotite, and chlorite alteration, visible gold in quartz veins, D2 folding and crustal-scale structures," said Greg Lytle, President of Gold Finder. "The 2025 fieldwork will consist of prospecting and preliminary mapping of the Pipestone West Area, focusing on geological contact zones and folded iron formation." Coleman Robertson, P.
